I don't know if it's just a temporary aberration, but from watching the Aces play the LV Aviators for 5 games this week, throwing strikes is not something that's been given any emphasis. Tonight was a classic. 7-2 lead in the bottom of the 6th. Pitcher gives up a leadoff single, walks two batters on, I think, 9 pitches, gives up another hit after falling behind, walks another to re-load the bases, then walks in a run. Gets the hook, and is followed by another pitcher who never once got ahead of a hitter. Tough to watch.
