FaithSkiShow
This is Faith in our 2022 Ski Show. The quick launch crowd pass and landing. We use the "Rope Break" technique to get Faith to our 80 foot length quickly. I have trouble releasing the M lines. I'm thinking of a better solution than the KONG Frog clips.

I usually make sure I can get the flyer to a reasonable length before the tight turn. in this case I thought it was enough but I was wrong.

How to parasail DIY

This is the introduction to a series of videos that describes our techniques to parasail from small consumer boats. we did this successfully from 18 foot boats with a 135 horse power engine but usually do it from. my inboard that's 21 feet and has about a 280 horse power engine. In all cases, a wake tower is needed.

Hand feeding a line and parasailing over visible obstacles is just an accident waiting to happen.
Really appreciate your video series. So little good information on how to parasail and pitfalls to avoid. I have never taken off from the boat, we do it from the beach. Interesting system you have come up with.
Alan, can you provide all equipment used, including make and model of your winch ?
@michaelhughes7314 I'm not recommending or vouching for any of this, I'm using most of this stuff against there inte ded use. Use it all at your own risk. The winch is just Harbor Freight Badland 5000 lbs. My boat is 2005 Centurion T5 Thunder. 100 feet of 3/16 UHMWPE. A 24 foot Recreational Parasail Package from customchutes.com (I also have 30 foot one). The "M" line is just some rope I had laying around with a way to tie it to boat and then 2 Frog clips from Kong.
As a parasail, captain for over fifteen years now, this should not be allowed. My heart is still racing from watching this, putting that woman in danger like this.
As a mate on a parasail boat I whole heartedly agree this shit is wild.🤣
Hand feeding line not even 100 yards from shore 😂 insanity.

Hi Alan. I have a boat and I want to give parasailing a go. Is there any way that I can make contact with you apart from RUclips such as on WhatsApp because I live in South Africa.
People. Don't do this at home. I've been a commercial parasail captain for 20 years. Everything you are doing is wrong. This is going to kill someone. Stop. Now. Please.
If they don't have a paracract boat this should be forbiden
я бы с вами не полетел )))))
кого нибудь прибьете в своей луже)))
Hello Alan, Thanks for your videos. Helped me a lot to see the configuration and process. Which do you prefer the winch or the rope for tethering?
Very good your videos! Keep doing!!!
How fast do you need to go?
depends on wind
the parachute tells you how fast u need to go
Very for me ur landing
🦾
Aweesome
Awesome work
Cool im in aruba
Hi Alan. Great info.. I too have a sail and am curious to know what the tension weight on the boat is. I’m told to use a factor of five x the payload weight for a straight pull and factor of 3 when the sail is at 45 degrees. For example for launch and the person weight 200lb then the tortion force on the rope attachment point would be 1000lb. How do I find out what the SWS rating on the ski hitch is on the transom. Does this sound about right.. Regards Tony
Based on rope rating and their failure (I had 2 ropes break), I would say your estimate is about 1/2 of actual. In addition, your nit including transients. I had a gust of wind on a fairly low wind day (about 7mph average; gust in the 20+ mph range ) snap a 5500 lb synthetic rope. The break was at the knot, so it was more like a 4,000 lb load. I wouldn't know where/how to find the rating of your ski hitch but if that's your intended mount point, my boat launch technique won't help you.
@@alankwiatkowski3191 Thanks for the reply. I have the manufacturers manual and I made sure I complied with their recommendations. I wasn’t sure if my ski boat would tow it so I went against my better judgement even after researching a lot of content on RUclips with test towing with a jet ski. Although the three land launches were successful however would not recommend it to anyone I was surprised it towered it. Was mainly to gauge if my boat would do the job. Considering my boat weighs 4 times of the ski it did tow it. Not advisable to anyone although people have done this behind a ski. As to add in additional safety I paid to have a quick release built in as to release it from the boat incase of excessive listing ect. Thanks for the info..
I bought a parasail 15 years ago never have a chance to fly it. I have a 24’ campion Allante 705 it not equips with wakeboard tower any suggestions how to launch it from a boat?? Can you make a video show the detail setup on your boat..
Have you watched the rest of the series? I thought I did a fairly detailed description. I thought how others can do this without a wake tower but never figured it out. For the inflation, you might be able to use the frame of a bimini top but you'll still need a strong tube mounted strong near the center of the boat (sounds like a wake tower). Provided you're confident your prop is shrouded enough by your swim platform, add a wake tower to your boat and you have a platform for parasailing.
@@alankwiatkowski3191 thank for sharing watched all your video I will try it this weekend .
@@adamvu119 did you get a chance to try? If so, what were the results?
@@alankwiatkowski3191 I didn’t have a chance last weekend but I did try yesterday afternoon twice not successful. First try I release the sail to early and it end up in the water. Second try the sail was wet and the boat speed not fast enough same result. But for what I see from the first try definitely it will deploy just need a bit more practice.. thank you for all your video I hope my 17 year of dream fly this thing of my boat come true. I going to build a better launching pole instead of my flimsy Bimini frame. Next time I make some video hope I can share with everyone my journey flying this thing..
@@adamvu119 It does take practice (a little luck helps too). I would love to see videos of your attempts and successes! What are you using for the rope break? Can you send me pictures or videos of your setup?
great video series on this. thanks for sharing. i would love to see any follow-up videos on lessons learned or accident prevention!
Since I'm not good at this, have you seen my "How To" series?
Awesome!! Whatt kind of quick release (brand & model number) do you use that goes from the rope on the wench to the yoke of the parasail
It's a solution sold to my by Sport Chutes Extreme Water Toyz. It doesn't have brand/model. It seems to be a Wichard 2673 Quick Release Snap Shackle 70mm VIS-2673 encased in foam with leaders on each side. Note: 1) it specifically says it should NOT be mounted on the parasail end of the rope (but obviously you can't do that with this technique) 2) We don't use it anymore because a) Its documentation says don't use it at the parasail end b) we never needed it c) it separated once without being pulled d) using a soft shackle to connect and disconnect the parasail keeps meatal away from the flyer.
Can this be done without a wake tower?
I would say unlikely but never tried.
Come India and take joamziel boat
Where do I buy a winch
In most cases you don't. In this series, you use the wake tower as a rope break. I did add a winch to my boat from Harber Freight but it can only fit 100 feet of synthetic rope and doesn't have a leveler.
Hey! Just subbed to your channel. Have you thought about using followsm . c o m to help your videos rank better??
