Vogon Poetry - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Theme
Don't know how I found this. But hello from the year 2020. Its garbage I wish I could go back a decade, back when the internet was good. Real shit though, this god awful video brightened up my night it reminds of what RUclips used to be like. It reminds me of what my life used to be like. I miss it, why did life have to go to shit? Thanks anyway buddies, hope there's a possibility someone, somewhere will read this.
One of the most amazing albums written by one of the least amazing bands. Bravo, but please, cmon guys. What the heck is with the rest of your music...
I worked at Hollister from 2005 to 2006 and this was my favorite! I would play it every shift ❤️
I love this album so much
at 5:20 in this album I think this is what most of the world leaders would do if this happened to them
best part of the song
Still my favorite concept album of all time. Would LOVE to see this as a stage show.
It is.
Green Day's American Idiot and this are tied for me.
Great theme EP. Listening to predominately metal, I come across many theme albums, there are quite a few in the power metal and melodic death metal sub genres, but this is great for rock. It reminds me of My Chemical Romance "three cheers for sweet revenge", which is kind of poppy like this.
muddy ass quality audio
Damnit! I told myself I wasn't gonna cry this time ;_;
This is me every time. "I'll listen to Broken Bride, but I won't cry this time". At this point I'm just lying to myself.
blow me
The last song kills me "back so soon baby? but I smile because I never left at all"
okay so i think this is the story: On a May morning in 1989, this guy's wife gets into a car accident and dies. He is so heartbroken that he builds a time machine and tries to go back in time to save her. First, he ends up going way to far back to the dinosaurs and almost dies. He manages to get back to it, but goes to far forward and ends up at the end of the world. It's basically a combanation of zombies and death and a dragon god thing. He helps to fight the evil things and basically saves everyone. But he is crying and stuff because his machine is out of fuel and he can't go back. The god things are like "dude you just saved humanity why are you crying" and hes like "listen I don't even want to save my wife anymore I just want to say goodbye" and they're like "lol okay why didn't you say so" and he gets transported to the morning his wife is going to die. He's amazed that he finally gets to see her again, but soon realizes that shes just going to die in the crash all over again. So instead of being left behind, he gets into the car with her, and they die together. Pretty sad story. Also how great would it be if there was a musical based on this album like holy shit that would be so cool.
there's a musical based off of this, I believe. I think college kids acted it out, or something.
Maddie Baker Oh, cool! I'll have to look it up. TY!
I may be wrong, but I hope your search doesn't turn up fruitless. this is also classified as a Rockopera
love it
I almost positive that the 'end of time' songs (Save our City, and Part 3 The Lamb and The Dragon) were were full of metaphors relating to a religious Armageddon. This is really just my interpretation of the story So there are 4 groups or factions in the story, The Dragon, The King, The Faithful, and The Tyrant/Lord. (Now I don't agree with some of these religious views, this is how I interpret the story) The Dragon would be Satan. The King is the fictonal character King Simius, the leader of an army, the worldy rebellion against Heaven and Hell (the bible strongly suggests that there will be a mass disowning of God before Armageddon) both the King and those allied with him refer to God as the Tyrant. The Faithful are the ones "huddled in camps on the old marble steps of city hall", they are probably at city hall because their church had been burned down ("the mission burns") and are seeking refuge and comfort from the mayor, a man who was once a faithful man but in the end he lost faith and pledged himself to The King, the Faithful are the only ones that refer to God as Lord. I'm sure you get the idea I'm getting at, I would have to write for a few more hours to finish my view of the story :\ so I will leave it at that.
Haven't listened to this album in 8 years, jeez, this song was right under my nose this whole time
I've been looking for this song for 8 years, incredible
Thanks for uploading this so hard to find without the cd
why is it that the last song makes me more depressed then i already am?
Jacob McBride Who the fuck do you think you are??
Dextiery Not that I agree with your aggression, I'm just liking the passion right there. Fuck yea.
+Jacob McBride (Zombiewalrus) *than
Thanks for sharing.
As someone who has never been a fan of this kind of music (I am one of those 'hurrdurr I only like Metal' people), this album is superbly delivered. The climax in Morning in May is a killer. Hits me every time.
We are alike in many ways
SpeciousUsername I feel pretty much completely the same.
The Lamb and the Dragon is probably the most metal thing they've done.
EP of the century maybe?
Put this on before I took a half-nap. Psychedelic and beautiful.
Congratulations you have just rewrote the film adaptation of the Time Machine by HG wells. Except, you have replaced the ape like creatures and the thing that controls them with stuff that hipsters like. Such as zombies and dragons.
Mike Campbell Er, no. The book of Revelation did not predict a zombie apocalypse in the guise of George A. Ramero. It mentioned a beast and and people rising from the dead but were not undead in the sense we have today. Also the beast was compared to a dragon though it was not actually a dragon. Every religion has this story btw. The twilight of the gods is very similar. Er, no. Andrew said he had wrote the first song and wanted to continue the story and it ended up spinning out of control. They inserted things that they liked ergo, zombies and dragons. Preparations follows many of the same themes (Zombies) because that is what they like. Er, no. superimposing your own meaning on top what the actual story is. Er, no. Unoriginal story taken from an obscure movie. Er, no. Hipsters.
warhawk009 ludo made this before hipster were a thing. lel
+warhawk009 OG The Time Machine is -not- obscure, you dummy.
Such a fun album and interestingly delivered story!! Listening to the songs separately, you can't appreciate or understand the epicness of this album. One must sit down, listen to the lyrics, and imagine the actions being delivered and the words said. Only then do you realize the true epicness and tragedy that is the Broken Bride.
YES!
Very true. Before I heard the entire thing, I heard individual songs in my friend's car. Then I looked it up on here and found this, and I was like "Holy wow, I never knew it was so good!!" and of course I cried at the end.
So I kinda want to write a novel loosely based on this album, it's just a thought though
Andrew Volpe is working on a novel trilogy expanding on the story. Though I think he's taken a hiatus on it for the time being to focus on raising his daughter.
Ooo well I hope he starts it up again so I can read it!
Jordan Zavesky Me too! He'd posted some excerpts on his blog while he was still working on it, and it sounded fantastic. Although I'd settle for some new Ludo music and/or a tour, too...hahah
H.G. Wells already did a novel of this.
warhawk009 That he did. But I kinda took the album as a reinterpretation/ homage to "The Time Machine" rather than a knock off. And considering how much of H.G. Well's work has been reinterpreted/ outright ripped off, I am just glad this one is of A) high quality and B) has enough of their own ideas and a kickass ending to make it worth the ride.
This tho
I love this video more than life itself
Hello How Are You
end me good
bup :-) hey again friend.
I still love this
This is our song ♥︎
Can we make May Time Traveler appreciation month? People like The Broken Bride Traveler, The Doctor, and Emmett Brown; true time heros. PS May 20th, Never forget...
EXCALIBUR!!!!
Andrew is actually turning this album into a novel trilogy.
Very True...
but its beautiful
this is the most romantic song altogether that ive ever heard! my friend patrick turned me on to LUDO and theyre the greatest! this is like a movie in words...
Awesome video
this song is so hard to find if u dont own the cd
Love this!
Thanks for the upload, broski.
This needs more views.
This story is just so sad, but I love it! <3
<3
Awesome first
man, this was my day- thank you Dave I <3 u u get me
whoever disliked this song, must be an idiot.
@tophat6781 lol be careful how quickly u tea I guess. It can cause great frustration hahaha
i was reading this, and where you said "lives", i thought it said "lies", and i was like, NOOOOOOOOOOOOO... o wait a minute...
"needle to the vein, needle to the vein, please leave this needle in my vein my freind"? I think you struck upon a great point no question there I love how you looked at all sides when interpreting the lyric(s) however i believe the likeliness of it being said structure in seatle....perhaps not so likely lol Still GO DAVE! best band ever possibly
I think the needle could also be the space needle in Seattle where Dave lives. It doesn't HAVE to be heroin
And the needle, She is my great escape....
Is there any DMB song I wouldn't love? No, there isn't.
Yep, that's definitely Jess's laugh xDDDDDD
