Part of a video with Dai Vernon a.k.a The Professor talking about Allen Kennedy and the Center Deal, and other card cheaters

My version on Ed Marlo's "Houdini and Bess" (can be found in The Card Magic of Edward Marlo , page 160). Two cards are selected (ace of spades and king of diamonds) ,one is placed on the table (ace) and one in the card box( king ). You riffle the deck and now on the table is the King of diamonds and in the box is the Ace of spades.

Created by me. No gimmics. 4 Aces and 4 Kings.3 selections go between the four kings. The aces are placed in the box.You show the 3 selections once again between the kings and then they vanish, only to appear INSIDE the CARD BOX BETWEEN THE 4 ACES ! And everything is examinable at the end.
Fascinating subject, but dear God, what a bore.
My ultimate favorite magician.
Amazing and thoroughly entertaining!! Aldo was indeed a master of his craft!! RIP, legend.. 😔
This guy spins a good yarn "well anyway"
everyone seeks acknowledgement......its just a rare few who want to remain anonymous....unless they are total criminals.....that is why Vernon enjoys talking
I remember reading that interesting story and many others in David Ben's great biography of Dai Vernon. There is, in the book, a rare photograph of Allen Kennedy taken on Christmas Day,1954. What a pleasure it is to hear The Professor talk about the extraordinary individuals that he met in his life.
Still waiting for the second part of that book to come out!

I can listen to this man all day, absolutely captivating, I saw everything he was talking about and the stories was hilarious. Where can I get 4 hrs of Dai Vernon stories?
Would love to see this on Drunken History
Vernon is the classic old man story teller
Give this man a podcast
When you pull off a card trick like that you can look straight into the camera line a boss at the end, well done
ben 1981 That look at the end he gives, always gets me. He’s literally gazing in my soul.😂
Im with Scarny "just show me the move forget the story "
Love that Thanks Max👍👍
This is my favorite manipulation. How did he do that?
i feel like vernon at this time had the worst breath
Well, heres to all Mexican Joe's, Arizona Fats, One eye Bills. America as it once was. Im bullshiting you, tbh, I was never once in USA, but those are the names I grew up with reading as a kid those Zane Grey's or Karl Mays novels. But I'll come once to pass Route 66. Nothing special, I just want to take a cup of coffee, go drunk in some Bukowski motel, maybe take a shave in some traditional barber shop. All those things that symbolize the Land of the free, as far away as possible from the modern police state. Such a shame, from a symbol of personal freedom, equal chances for success, to the country where trigger happy pigs are killing juvenile kids in broad daylight.
Is there extra significance attached to him rubbing his hands together, or is it just showmanship? It's a great flourish. I love it.
"Nothing in my hands, nothing up my sleeve"
I love how, at 7:25 he says, "I don't want to go into...it'd take too much time to go into detail" Wait, what? We got nothing BUT time to listen to you go into detail! Prof just didn't want to explain how the guy did it. If anyone could center-deal though, the Professor could. But we'll never know cuz the gutless and dimwitted interviewer wouldn't ask appropriate follow up questions.
Actually, the Kennedy center deal is published. If you watch the one on one teaching of Jason England on the center deal he discusses the deal(he mentions it to be exact, he does not teach it, but I believe there are references for that type of deal at the end of the video.)
"dim witted interviewer" i have you know that man made a time machine
@@maxmalini8778how would we see that ?thanks so much for putting this up
@@maxmalini8778 and I would be indebted I you could tell us how to see the rest of this interview, thanks
ben benson I figure you want the rest of the video to be uploaded?
...the make a long story even longer...
If you're here because of Ricky Jay, thumbs up.

C'mon kid. Take my money and walk up to my car, quoting Dai Vernon

This is an absolute gem!
Did Ed Marlo invent the center deal?
My great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great grandfather was actually the inventor of the first wheel....He never made a fuking penny from it.....!!!!!!!!!! Utter waste of time, ripped off virtually immediately.....
Marlo was great....but he did not invent the center deal. If you asked Dai Vernon he would tell you it was invented by Allen Kennedy. The man he speaks of in this story.
My goodness did you not hear the story??? He said nothing of ed marloe!!!
If Marlo had invented the Centre Deal, he would have published hundreds of utterly pointless ways to do it; sourced from his notebooks and dated 30th February 1742.
@@BarryAllenMagic He obviously did not invent it. Dozens of variations can be found in Seconds, Centers, and Bottoms. They’re great. People criticizing Marlo for his variety miss it. Marlo was great.
The Professor. He sounds like Norm Macdonald in 20 years.
