Jzilla at VIR | E36 328i | Hotlap & Big Off at Turn 10 (Better Quality Chase Camera Version)

Updated with better quality video from the chase car. First time running at VIR. Turned a 2:21:36 in the open session. Was on a cool down lap about ready to call it for the day and then saw my friend in my rear view and decided to push for another lap (first mistake). I believe I entered turn 10 a bit too late and with too much steering angle and had the back step out at just under 100mph. Left...

F80 BMW M3 VRSF Midpipe vs Stock
Просмотров 15 тыс.5 лет назад
Side by side comparison of the stock exhaust vs. the VRSF midpipe. Both cars are 2016 manual transmission cars with otherwise stock tuning/exhaust and non ZCP/MPE. The midpipe is moderately but noticeably louder than the stock exhaust under throttle. I liken it to the tone the car makes when it is warmed up but you turn it off for a couple minutes to go in the store, and then start it up again....

Homemade Ice Hockey Boot Punch Out
Просмотров 31 тыс.7 лет назад
Had some pain under my interior ankle bone that was making skating pretty painful. So, I made a basic boot punch with some things I had around the house. I think my pain was caused by an accessory navicular, which is a little extra bone in my foot under my ankle, but this approach should help regardless of the cause of your pain.
Great tip here! I did this to my son’s skates when they were giving him an issue. His ANB was getting sore and enflamed. Worked like a charm! I used sockets (from a wrench set). You can pick and choose the size to get the right shape. I did have to redo it after about 2 months. But he was on the ice 4-5x per week.
Nice work
Anyone here tried their skates getting punched out? Same issues with my new heat molded skates - zero issues during fitting and molding but after trying them on ice the next day, my ANB was in pain. Is it effective (punching out)?
that “ankle” bone is a genetic mutation that i also have, you have to get surgery to remvove it
Mutation or polymorphism? I'd argue the accessory navicular is the latter because it is a population attribute and estimated to occur in 4-14% of individuals. Not a big enough deal personally to justify being cut on to "fix" when I can just modify a skate, though!
@@cooperlong5413 yes a navicular, for me its super bad, cant were crocs, i guess i’l get the surgery some time soon
@@cooperlong5413 and yes u can fix it by punching the skate, thats why im here. Thx for the vid
Getting the downpipe will give you more pops and burble
Hello, I have the same problem, bought new skates, baked them and the spot is very painful again. Everyone is telling to punch out them, but I think in my hockey store there isnt special machine. What you recommend? Thanks
I'm thinking to fix leg, not each skates, moreover carbon
My son has been complaining about his CCM Tacks, so I've jumped on your approach and using a golf ball.
Thanks for the tip. I used a PVC piece and a short large round headed bolt and nut. My 2x pro inline skates didn't need this but my $80 supreme one.8 ice skate sure do.
So everything is All stock exhaust paired with vrsf single mid pipe ? Sounds awesome !
Yes, this was JUST the mid (it is double pipes though)
Nice pedal work!
That’s one hell of an off. You carried a lot of speed through the rough stuff, not much braking once you go off. Was your off from trailing brakes or a power slide? I really like all the camera angles!
The E36 isn't capable of a power slide above about 10 mph so that's quite flattering 😂. I think I turned in too late, had too much angle and actually a lack of throttle to plant the rear. Of course this was in the very last open session and a friend was behind me. Bad combo. Once I started to slide I was clutch in and didn't hit the brakes until I realized I was approaching Oak Tree from the infield 😂
damn, you/car ok?
I'm good and car seemed fine (nothing leaking or obviously off). Will of course put it on a lift soon and go over everything. We did the weld-in subframe reinforcements so hopefully those helped. This was certainly the highest speed I'd ever gone off-roading :D
Hell yeah I know that run wide was probably very fun at first
Does it last? Or do I have to keep redoing it
I have the same damn' problem. The guy in the video (Cooper) and I have what is called a "accessory navicular" bone. It's an extra bone which is located below the ankle and towards the toes and is easily recognizable. No amount of baking will fix this. It's got to be punched out. It's a real pain in the ass as the area you need to punch out is so close to the eyelets. A C-clamp works well too.
I have this exact same problem!!! The accessory navicular bone & the pain is excruciating after skating for a while
@@berry1426 Me too!!!
Awesome 👍
Did you keep resonator?
Good idea- Thanks for posting!
Is this the single or double mid pipe?
Double
2 wide into through the kink!!! You're battling my bud Wes McBryde from Fortress of Solid Dudes!
Yeah! We were discussing it on his first video posted on the Fortress channel. I didn't think it was as risky as people later made it out to be. 10/10 wouldn't lift next time, either.
I was about to mention I recognized Wes's helmet. 👌
Cooper, if you take note of the amount of time you lost to the ones you were following at the beginning of the video you will understand that wasn’t the time to make that move. I would respectfully argue less than 8/10 would make that move. Running the outdoor enduros are much different than indoor sprint races, you have to pick your time to make that pass. You also took the same maneuver to another racer, may have been my teammate, can’t tell, but you cost yourself and the other racer a few more seconds. A pass in the kink, especially when you have less than equal position and you’re behind someone running fast, is ultimately a losing move. You’re not racing that guy, or at least shouldn’t be at that point of the race, you’re racing the track and the clock. Hope to catch you at the track sometime, looks like you’re a great wheel man!
My best time is 0.010 seconds better then yours hahahah ... you are good at drive
Think it’s just the skates? I have the same pair and the same problem
Nope- I went to some higher end CCM Tacks shortly after I modified these that were fully heat moldable (and did the same adjustment to them). I think it is that we have that different bone structure... The accessory navicular
Cooper Long I was planning on either trying custom or a different type of skate. Thanks bro
I’m here because I have pain in the exact same spot. So painful to skate!
Great idea!
Really hoping they do a 24-hr soon. I know they are pushing for it!
Nice driving. Where did your team finish in this event?
Thanks! We ended up 9/21 overall and 7th in class. We were a little slow but not too disheartened with the outcome given nobody on our team had done this race before.
awesome video!! totally going to try this.
I think I'm gonna try this with a golf ball, and a 24mm socket on the outside.
Same sensor? www.amazon.com/Etekcity-Lasergrip-1080-Non-contact-Thermometer/dp/B00DMI632G Also, how long does it take to get a hairdryer to get your skates up to 170-180? Most ppl recommend a heat gun instead. THX for posting!
is hard to punch out at the small toe area, right? i been bending with my hand and a screwdriver, but it makes little to no difference. Almost as the boots reshapes itself over the night.
Peter Negan yeah I think you need a legit press of some sort for that because it is so reinforced there
If its on the hard toe cap...thats a tough one. If not, did you heat it up first?
For me the problem with my Bauer Supreme 160 skates is that the hard cap plastic toe cap is narrow compared to other brands and models, but it is only my little toe that sort of get pinched a tiny bit. Heating it up with my hair dry blower does nothing.
Thanks for the tip. I'm going to try this myself (with a golf ball too). I have the same issue in the same location of my foot. If you haven't already, you should look up "accessory navicular bone"
dakuwan yep, that is exactly what I have too- the accessory navicular.
I have the same issue but only in my left inside ankle inside the boot same pressure point that causes so much pain. I need to try this
You can also use a G clamp, some pvc pipe and a golf ball. Does the job well
Golf ball is a good idea. I got a new set of tacks around Christmas and used a G-clamp with the coins in the bottle cap and that worked well here, too.
