Michigan Trout Fishing - Wading a Creek and Catching Wild Trout
This trip was epic. The brown trout bite was quite active. The flow of the first creek was interesting. Beaver dams and obstructions made for spots of deep and slow water where brown trout wanted to feed. Then there was also zones of rapids and riffles that trout would cruise and surprisingly bite lures.
The second creek posed some more challenges as it was significantly smaller but still had a trout population that was nothing to scoff at.
Spinners and worms were the method of choice on these creeks.
September fishing in the great lakes cold water streams is very rewarding. Head out there and give it a try.

I had a great solo outing this summer morning. It took me quite some time to get my first trout but once I did it didn’t take long to get more. I will definitely try this stream out in the future. The fishing on this particular trip was epic. A trifecta was obtained. This creek produced plenty of beautiful wild and native trout. The combination of rapalas and worms proved to be no match for the trout in this stream.

This solo trip was epic. The Brook trout bite in August is legendary. The fish are barely pressured this time of year and they are feeding ferociously. The bait of choice was a worm on this trip. This trip featured two wildly different streams. One stream being a cool watered fishery with pike and smallmouth bass in it, while the other was a cold water fishery with Brook trout fishery. The Brook trout fishing in this stream was slow but overall the experience was scenic. The colors on native U.P. Brook trout are unbeatable. The tannic acid makes them darker than brookies caught anywhere else. Some are almost black, which makes their purple halos stand out. We had a great time exploring this meeting stream. The target species was the Brook Trout. Along with Brook Trout we caught some chubs. Worms spinners and pieces of minnows were used with success! The weather was great and surprisingly the mosquitoes were not bad at all!

This river was loaded with some epic fish. It was a marginal trout stream but we sure found some large trout. The brown trout are the most most ferocious feeding trout in our opinion and they sure did fight well. Location: Fungus River

This little creek had some beautiful trout in it. The target species in this creek was the brown trout, but it didn’t stop me from hooking into some creek chubs and some other fish like green sunfish and largemouth bass. Is Little Fungus River the actual name of the river? I cant find it anywhere. Im in marquette looking for better trout fishing than whats local. Very clear water compared to this county

Epic Brook trout stream 👀
Hello neighbor! I have a theory on why you might be seeing brookies in there right now as opposed to other times you've been there. I'm wondering if they are coming in there to spawn maybe?? Trout are fall spawners. The females right now in Wisconsin are full of eggs so I'm guessing the same is true in Michigan. I don't know when the deed actually happens but I'm guessing they are getting ready for it. Anyway nice video!! Keep the small creek fishing coming! That is my happy place and this time of year is great for it!
@@wisbacks you could be right. They may be staging and getting ready for spawn. Ik they spawn in October and November but with this unusually colder weather they might just start early!

I see a brookie like that and I can’t imagine how excited you must have been when you set the hook. Similar to buck fever but we get to practice catch and release so that tomorrow we all might catch more trout. Be proud of yourselves for on this day you were able to find yourself on a Michigan brookie stream. Best place in the world
