99% of the time I have eco and when I need it I have boost.

2019 Expedition with 80k just started acting up a few weeks ago. Took it on a 200 mile trip over the weekend. Noticed strange shifting into 10 and some hunting. On the way back threw the power train light and locked out of 10, had some clunking down shifting as well as almost stalled in the middle of an intersection. Threw the drivetrain light again. Going to the dealer after Christmas. Fortunately I have he 125k warranty. Only other problems have been cam phasors replaced under warranty and rear hatch latch. Replaced that on my own because the dealer couldn't replicate. Going to a new dealer for the transmission, the last one finally pissed me off enough.

I did my first oil change in my 3.5 EcoBoost,Except for having to remove the rubberize card board skid plate it's not bad .The oil filter is easier to get at than some and mine did not have that big yellow drain plug so I was able to catch the oil OK

I haven’t seen any 302 blown with normal use 2.7 all over the Internet. It might be good in a few years. I’ll take the 302.

Remove air box and bottom bracket and can do it without removing everything, gassers don't need to take the front end apart

I have a 2020 expedition xlt. The transmission started changing rough around 47k miles but the dealer never find anything wrong. Now I have 145k miles on it, still same transmission and engine, it’s been driving good for the time being. Let’s see how many more miles I can get. lol

I have a 2023 ford expedition max limited all blacked out. Bought brand new. Paid top dollar for it almost $80k. This has been my worst car I’ve ever owned. They replaced half of the engine at 16,000 miles because it was burning too much oil. The car currently has hard clicking and kicking intermittently right under my feet. Worst of all it has frequent engine fumes entering the cabin while driving. I know there is something wrong because my wife has a new car of a different make and model she has non of this issues. I’ve been to ford service over 4-5 times and they simply say they cannot replicate my issues and send me on my way. I’m stuck paying a high monthly payment and driving a garbage vehicle. These people have screwed me so badly and are taking no steps into making it right. At least fix it so I can keep the vehicle that’s all I’m asking ford. I have a 2024 F150 Powerboost XLT with the work desk. I hate it! Would gladly swap out with someone. Also I think you mentioned in the video that you can use it to take notes on the go, is that really the case? Doesn't the shifter have to be in Park to fold down? 2012 130kmi and 2018 112kmi. No problems with engine and transmission. If you have glass coverage with insurance it covers the replacement and calibration.

I have a 2016 F150 Screw 2.7 w/ 80k. Rims, small lift, 33" ridge grapplers on since 15K miles. Knock on wood, literally zero problems! Hell im still on the stock oem battery! Thats insane. If you're wondering if the 2.7 is reliable or powerful enough to tow just get it. We haul and take it big road trips and its been nothing short of fantastic. When it was new i was having serious ego problems buying the "small twin turbo 6" instead of the 5.0 or even 3.5. Just ego, the 2.7 rips

Be careful advising F150 owners what type of motor oil to use. I have a 2007 F150 5.4l and have tried many different oils. My cam phasers (which my models years are known for) get noisy on a full synthetic (maybe thats why the manual recommends synthetic blend 5w-20. I have no problems with synthetic blend oils. Viscosity could be the issue.

2.7 liters are junk

There is an issue across the board with the transmission drum that has only 2 seals, Ford hasn't fixed the issue yet but GM did, believe it or not FORD and GM have the same transmissions and both have had the same problems of gear switching issues. If you take it back to the dealership they won't replace it, they will only reset the electronics and it will work fine for a while but it will go back to the same issues. Transmission mechanics are now replacing the updated GM 3 SEAL drums and that has fixed the issue. This is a factory design flaw and they are not taking ownership putting it as a recall. You'll be dropping between $3,500 to $5,500 for that GM drum replacement at a transmission shop, avoid the dealership they will not fix the problem, they will only mask, it happened to me.

The only reason the red necks say the 5.0 is better is literally because of exhaust noise! I’ve owned both a the 3.5 is superior pulling a fuel mileage while pulling to mention! However! With twin turbochargers there’s maintenance you don’t have with a naturally aspirated engine! That said, I’ll take the 3.5 anyday over the v8. It’s as fast or faster it towes more and gets better fuel economy period!!!! Just no v8 sounds

The one and only reason to get the 5.0, put a Borla attack dual exhaust on it and listen. Nuff said.

I'll stick with my 2012 5.0. Just turned over 100k. After I tuned the 5.0 and Cai it feels like a totally different truck. Never been a turbo guy, but to each his own.

There is a member on the EcoBoost forum that just traded one in with 460,000 mi on it. They traded it in on a RAM with the And I guarantee you that 5.7 won't make 460,000 miles.

Reason to get the V8 - it sounds cool!

I’ve owned both and I will take the 2.7 over the 5.0 any day. For most people it’s perfect, you only need the 5.0 for boats and exhaust sounds.

Ecoboost is a dirty and hot engine that wrecks havic on oil. I do 4k o.c.i. with ultra platimun. Ive come to learn that my engine consumes almost 1 quart every 2-2500 miles and its all stock.

My immediate thought about this maybe you should try an used 2nd gen Sequoia. The whole vehicle, exterior and interior look quite outdated. Good thing is they are usually very reliable, and a lot of aftermarket parts for you to make it your own. I've been driving a 2007 tundra, first year of the 2nd gen. I just needed to get over that ugly interior, it has been serving me very well, except mpg ~12-13 "with 6'inch lift and TOYO MT tires. For me, I just need a reliable vehicle to get to work, do my things with a peace of mind and not likely to leave me stranded on the road. ( i drive cross country trip sometimes, it would be a nightmare if it died in the middle of nowhere) So you might think about it too

I have 2015 F150 XLT. My T/S button no longer works. Haven't found anything on RUclips nor Google. Does anyone have any ideas before I take it to the dealer? The tow fuse is not blown.
