Thanks, glad you like the setup, speakers have big and spacious sound, and the amp eventhough it is an AV receiver works great in stereo mode - seriously built piece too, huge toroid transformer and 4x 12000 mF caps, 2x100w in stereo can push all types of speakers with ease...

So sorry for late reply, it was fully serviced by previous owner, fully recapped - I dont know the details to be honest but yes it sounds great. Friend of mine had bigger model from the same series and still regrets selling it few years ago.

Just an update, my A450 is now fully recapped with Nichicon caps, cleaned pots, adjusted and balanced idle mV and it sounds like a new amp. Lots of life left in it now.

Hello Vincente, sorry for late reply. Soeaker stands on this video are hand made, but you can use any as long as the tweeter is in the same level as your ears when sitting down...of course give or take few cm it is not such a big deal. They shoul be massive and the heavier the better. Mine are filled with sand for better bass control

That is an excellent piece...very rare to find and hard to get...any of the players with 1541 dac are rare and no one wants to sell them...due to obvious reasons once compared to other budget players😊

Very good bass and highs, but a little lack of midrange (voice) fir my taste, midrange speakers are little and rigid...

I haven't heard mkI so far, as I read opinions on the internet forums - mk2 should be better but cannot say until I hear them. If you get an mk1 for good price I would go for it and test it in your system...these play really nice have to say that, and it is a good opportunity to get them as not a lot of people know about this brand so the prices are not as high as for some brands that are known in the hifi circles...I have heard a lot of higher priced bookshelf speakers that are not even close to these in every aspect -sound and build quality.

If you buy it you will not be wrong, Rotel has very warm and natural sound, treble is crisp and clean, not too sharp like some japanese amps..very good value for the money. And if you listen to vinyl records it has an excellent MM phono stage, also great dac section inside, loads of power in the amp..if you have the oportunity go for it.

yes it was top of the range 22 years ago, still works great I am very happy with it

and, yes I forgot one thing its a AV amplifier...when I got it thought it is a receiver too :) but no tuner built in.

Thanks Gino for the advice, the whole setup is sold already, but I do agree that it woluld warm up the sound greatly, yamaha amp can sound a bit cold but I love them for their accurate sound, tight bass and great value for the money. Ax550 is a great sounding amp, doesnt cost a fortune, excellent built..I do serpusly recommend it for an entry level amp that can do wonders with a little tweak...this one was upgraded with iec connector and Lapp power cable...great improvment

@@vladahifi2275 You are welcome and much more expert than me i don't know why but very good sounding preamps are more rare than power amps it's difficult to find a bad sounding power section imhe And older amps have often the separation option Very good indeed I low Yamaha amps a lot I would try to rewire the high current paths both in the power supply and the output to speakers just 2.5 mmq flexible wires should be excellent for the purpose and cost nothing kind regards gino

I would recomend anything with sharper precise sound ...preferably with decent midrange since that's NAD's territory....sory for late reply...

Hi Gino, thanks a lot for your comment, I have heard some of the floorstanding models from Heco(cant remeber exact model mark) and they also sound great, much better bass extension and therefore more spacious sound. Treble is quite good on most of the models, midrange also so no worries there..these also sounded very nice with Denon amp as well. All interior reflex models can be found quite cheap..around 100eur for used pair in fair condition so a lot of bang for the buck. Sorry I couldnt give you specific models hope this helps at least a little.. regards Vladimir

@@vladahifi2275 Hi Vladimir, thank you very much indeed for your very kind and valuable advice. I like towers but i am worried about possible cabinet vibrations. The tower speakers that sound really good are also very very heavy like for instance Thiel speakers. Towers have very long panels. I think i will go for bookshelf speakers and maybe add later two bass boxes, one per side below them used as satellites. One of my dream speakers remain the Wilson Audio two pieces speaker here in the pic www.cansellall.com/images/204906477/wilsin-audio-puppy-1.JPG i heard it many years ago at an audio fair and i was shocked by the sound. The Heco Interior can work very fine down to 125 and from there the woofer. This would be my idea. Of course i have to think about an external crossover. But in this way the bass boxes would be completely isolated from the midrange speaker. Thanks a lot again, gino

@@vladahifi2275 Hi ! yes ... unfortunately just a dream considering my poor finances. But the nice thing for me is the concept of separating the mid-highs from the bass. Let me please elaborate a little. The woofer is like a beast ... it vibrates a lot. And like for any beast a cage is needed. I like a lot also tower speakers but to have a woofer in a tower the tower needs to be very stiff and heavy for not vibrate. I would send the freq lower than let's say 120-150Hz to the woofer ... then the choice of a small 2way speaker to cover from 150Hz is almost endless. You can use anything you like. Also a nice little and cheap Hecos. @@gino3286 that looks very nice also and a very good idea to cover all freq ranges with bookshelf speaker/woofer combo...I think you will be able to find some decent woofers for not a lot of money or just buy bass drivers and make a diy woofer..depending on what is available to you.
