ik the storytelling's pretty obvious with the different povs being the different songs, but I just want to appreciate how well it fits their characters ???? like lance is in denial for his feelings for Keith, and is trying to convince himself he only loves allura (1:13 'make your heart believe' with the exact wording is insane ngl) but he can't lie to himself because he's a 'bad liar'. and even when getting (closer) with allura he still knows deep down that this isn't what he truly wants. the resolution of his whole arc (at 3:28 he says 'he doesn't wanna fake it') indicating he doesn't want to hide his feelings about Keith any longer, then making the first move and quickly regretting it even though it turned out alright. i just love how much clearer this makes his character development (we all know how it ended up haha) because along with his feelings of inadequacy towards himself, missing his homeworld, and constantly pining for people who just don't care the same way he does (on the surface for Keith), he finally has a conclusion. he doesn't have to be someone else to slot in next to another person, he can just be himself (3:00 genuinely made me ache inside because wow. that is such a hurtful thing to admit to a person you care about deeply, that you want to be perfect for them but that's just not how you can be.) he's allowed to make decisions for himself, with his own feelings in mind. on another note, I think I relate a bit too much to keith's side of the story (happier the mv made me cry everytime I've seen it lol) because he falls for lance first, but he knows (at that point in time) that lance just won't reciprocate because he's smitten with allura. the keith inner conflict starts at 1:58, when he sees lance with allura and also the scene where lance consults him abt shiro returning. I've always thought the events leading up to Keith leaving for the bom was meant to have like an ambiguous interpretation but with it like being strongly implied that he left because he didn't want lance to feel left out, thus sacrificing his position in the team so lance can stay and be with the team. ik keith's made to be this lone wolf character who stalks off on his own and rushes into things without consulting the others, but the intent behind his decision being that it's bc he cares abt lance is just so good for his arc. because he's letting him past the walls he put up from his abandonment issues. he cares enough about lance that he willingly puts him first. (also as a quick mention but rmb when krolia said she left earth not because she was focused on the mission, but because she wanted to protect her family ? yea that was definitely put in as a parallel as to the reason why keith left lol) additionally, lance making keith want to stay ? but allurance making keith want to leave because he wants lance to be happy with allura ?? must be torture, with the longgg pining all the way from s1 to post s8 and he still tries to keep his distance to protect lance. i just- love. i feel I've rambled too much (its currently 3am and I've had naps thru the whole day so explains things haha) but there's just so much thought that's been put into this animatic ? with the frames matching lyrics, the change in colours because ofc red + blue = purple (when klance have genuine bonding moments and when they get together !!!), the fact that keith is jealous of allurance because he wants lance, but just before lance was jealous of lolura (??) because he thought he wanted to be in lotor's position, beside allura. and on the topic of allure, the scene at the end where she has the blue and red light in her palm ?? it seems so endearing, like she accepts them getting together even though it meant lance was moving on from her. i just love that you added that in. okie now it's definitely too long. I'm gonna be replaying this in my head for a while now lol. hope whoever who read thru this has a good day ahead of them, peace out <3
