Sunlit Ancient Forest of Protesters Falls Track | Nightcap National Park | Australia
Protesters Falls Track in Nightcap National Park is a 1.2 km return walk through World Heritage-listed rainforest, leading to a spectacular waterfall.
The track is named after the Terania Creek protests of the late 1970s, which saved this pristine rainforest.
Along the way, you'll encounter subtropical bangalow palms, native tamarind, and towering rainforest giants like yellow carabeen and strangler figs.
The area is home to endangered frogs, including the Fleay’s barred frog and pouched frog.
Birdwatchers can listen for the calls of the rose-crowned fruit dove and the barred cuckoo-shrike.
The walk is graded as moderate and takes about 45 minutes.

🙏Thankyou
Gorgeous. Also love the small falls along the way. And how clean the water is, just beautiful 💖
Yes, it was a delightful walk all the way down. Rain the day before really freshened up the waterways. Thank you for sharing. 💚
Nice video mate 👍
Thank you and glad you like 🙂
@natureandplacestogo no worries mate 👍
Oh❤ Great🎉❤
Thank you 🙏
Such a magical place 💖
Indeed it is Ellen 🥰
This walk-through is absolutely the correct speed, beautiful music, with nature sounds in harmony too; like a walking meditation. Just perfect, Mark ✨🫧
Thank you Carol 🙏 your kind words are very much appreciated 🥰
Quá Tuyệt vời 🌹👍💓
Thanks for the like :)
What a great little echidna. Well spotted. Looks like a great area for running into the local wildlife. Amazing. 👍
Indeed! 🙂It was quite surprising seeing this little guy so close to the hotel entrance.
Great introduction for anyone looking at visiting the area. Lush and tropical feel with all the ferns. It is obviously a wetter climate in this region of Tasmania to allow the rainforest canopies to proliferate. Thanks for sharing.👍🙏
Many thanks🙏Yes, the western side of Tassie is generally quite wet (compared to the east). Mount Field National Park's wettest month of the year is usually around October. During my visit in November there was also a reasonable amount of rain.
Thanks for sharing Mark, arguably the most picturesque of all Tasmania's waterfalls. Cheers Phil
You're welcome Phil - yes, I'd agree on that, it was an amazing experience!
Is it difficult to walk ?
Hi Sui ... thanks for your question. For the most part the walk is very pleasant and easy going, quite flat. As you approach the water it gets a little bit tight and on ground a bit bumpy, but for most people I'd say it's very doable. Enjoy :)
gidday mark i am going to Tassie soon we are staying in Bicheno Evandale Table Cape and Hobart. it will be a 10 day trip. very excite
