Hi Wade, I was wondering if you could help me with a STATA question regarding reverse coding. I used the alpha varname, reverse(varname) std gen(newvarname) to give me my correlations along with reverse coding my variables. I have multiple sets of different variables where 1 = high (always) and 5 = low (never) and I want to switch it. If I use the revers command for each varname, how would I know that it is reversed? When I used the codebook command, it gave me a frequency of 39 with a numeric label of 1 and a label of (5) disagree and when I tabbed the same variable, it gave me the same information telling me that it never reverse coded.

Great keep going. can you make clear why you left the negative sign. The mean difference is -3.7 but you took 3.7 when you calculating the Cohen's.

How did you decide whether to accept or reject the null? Is it because |-2.838|>0.0045 or because 0.0045 is less than 0.01 so can accept at 1% significance level

How do you combine all the graphs with the bell shaped curve in one slide? I can combine but without the bell shaped curve using the commands: hist variable_name, name(v1). And then: graph combine v1 v2 v3, col(3) row(3). But using this command: histogram variable_name, normal, name(v1) doesn't seem to work. Got any ideas?
