Sounds great... hows the secret preamp sound with Vox? Noticed it waa not on. Interested in signal chain that drive goes well with Vox.
@AndrewBoydMusic preamp is good I was use the echo pedal with a little reverb. Great amp I bought it last year.
Breaking in the Tungsol Preamp tube
How does it compare to the Vintage Modern below, both being JTM based amps?
@anderaparicio9748 I would say similar to the low gain channel. The HDR is more gainy like VH. Actually like to sell the hrdx and my jcm studio combo I have too much gear and been playing drums again. Hrdx is a great amp loud and thick. The single coils sound so good and punchy.
superb! can You tell us is it stock speaker (jensen C12K)?
Yes, it is
EF 86 channel?
@@RaiderJay9092 yes
Very cool man. I have all those same cymbals. They're all dirty and old now. 😁
@@johnbmx4christ Bought the cymbal pack they sound good 👍😊
@@kenaiello4851 that's awesome. That's the same pack we got. Been using it for about 10 years now.
Are those A Avedis?
Yes
Great cover, nice example also for my Students, thanks for sharing !!
Thanks for listening
😊 Thanks
So now you need to do a cover where you're playing guitar and drums. 😁
😮 sounds easy enough lol
Nice
Amazing
Thinking about buying this amp but keep hearing people say it’s hard to find the sweet spot. Does it clean up nice? Or does it always sound on the edge of breakup?
Does a great cleans with a strat
Nicely done!
Thank you! Cheers!
Not too shabby! Be careful with your timing though, try not to rush it. :) If you're having a hard time with hearing the rest of the band/track, use in ear monitors, buds or headphones and just split the sound feed. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the tips!
Yeah sometimes the hearing can throw me off.
How do you split it?
Very nice
Thanks wasn't that much in to country my girl got me into it. Brad's good at guitar 🎸
Good job my friend! Love your sound!
Thanks for listening just got back into drumming 3 weeks ago
Very cool man
Thanks bud! Lot of my 80's hard rock metal is on vinyl I need a blue tooth stereo . Do have Maiden on a CD:)
@@kenaiello4851 not exactly. everything i used to own has been transferred into my personal server. I dumped all our cds and dvds into it. And gave them away.
I liked it🎉😂❤
Hows the mic sound hear too much bass drum?
I think it's placed pretty good. You've got a ton of noise like a ground loop or something.
@@johnbmx4christ remembered what you said about one mic so I set it up and recorded it. I never like that software when I used it for guitar the highs were kinda nasty.
Oh no. He's opened up the can of worms. 😁
😮 what you mean? Lol
@@kenaiello4851 i mean now you're gonna start doing drum covers. then you'll need new mics, more cymbals, then new cameras, more cymbals, new software, new i/o box, bigger drums, more cymbals, even bigger drums, more cymbals etc. 😁 just trying to make you laugh.
@@johnbmx4christ I have a enough crap down here lol thanks 😊
@@johnbmx4christ wonder if the mic was over head might sound better or just use my phone 😉
Cool. Use ear protection.
Thanks for the tip. I usually dont use it my guitars usually sound best loud:) in moderation!
Very cool man. Looking forward to seeing some covers from you. 😁
I like all kinds 60's and up
man those drums sound like paper bags
Cell phone far away they sound great 😃
I'm afraid the rust is now dust. Might have a few grains of salvageable iron. 👍for trying.
be cool if I had mics only have a sm57 for my amps
His playing was fine. Not sure what you're getting at.
@@slimjim1104 same place I'm @
@slimjim1104 he said rust is dust which means his playing sounds good and hes giving him props for picking up the drums after years of not playing.
I think so @@justinjensen6818
Love when an amp feeds back musically perfect like that. Great tone man.
Rock on!
Yeah I love her version Because i'm lazy tuning my guitar to D Tuning 😅
God I did that long time ago. It's hard to find free backing tracks these days
Demo in clean channel.
Was on the reverb channel
Straight in?
yes
That has a great vibe there Ken 👍🏻👍🏻
Yeah I dig it 😀
Nice collection of amps you have there. I'm thinking about buying my son 16y old a one.
Best cranked up
Totally sounded great on my monitor speakers and sub/PA. How it was meant to b heard..
Pretty good amps you should try one lol
Sounded really great man!!!!
Thanks Bud
Sounds great!
Thanks Bud!
That sounds fucking GREAT!
Thanks man !
65 or 75 watt creamback?
65
Sounds great Ken 👍🏻👍🏻
Every time I try to record I dont play it the same lol wanted to see how my new setting sound Ed's settings on the blue channel. Hit the red channel 1:25 this is lower volume tones the EVH guitar and amp kills it. Chorus added :)
Great amp. Why, because it sounds great! No other reason.
Sounds good Ken What guitar is that your playing?? Looks like a Strat n SG
SG
@@kenaiello4851 That top horn threw me off buddy
Sounds great brother Love that LP
Thanks Mitch
Fantastic tone bro! Two guitar master in one! 👊
Thanks buddy 😊
Sounds great! Curious if guitar volume was on 10 and if you remember where the Master & Channel volumes were? Which speakers? Thanks!
Guitar on 10 master I think 6 or so then treble at maybe 6 bass volume at 2 plus
Green backs
Awesome, thanks!
@@Drneely1603 I biased it a bit hotter some and have it dialed in better
Sounds great Ken 👍🏻👍🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks brother 😁
Have to tried the EVH amp? this was a bedroom levels. The DSL did a good job also for that.
@@kenaiello4851 No I haven’t tried that amp. But I agree it does sound good 👍🏻👍🏻
If I've got bedroom tones like that at 10:30 I'm getting evicted.
It's crazy loud at 1030 thats the loudest I pushed it in the condo lol
treble channel 8 bass channel 2+ master hair pass 2
Strat sounds great buddy
I'm digging it thanks 👍
I've watched your Marshall videos and now your PRS HDRX20 videos, I gotta say, I think I prefer the PRS amp! Didn't think I would say that before watching your videos. Do you have a preference? Thinking about getting one of those. Great videos, thanks man!
PRS has more head room it's lower gain big sounding does cleans very well. SV does it too but more break up they are all good just different flavors.
I just biased it hotter some last week
Really like the PRS for that vintage roar
@@kenaiello4851 I agree. The PRS sounds like it can roar, but also not out of control. Seems like it is really easy to dial in a great clean or roaring tone.
@@RagnarKarlssonG yep!
Had a colder bias at the time at 25, I set it to 30 now.
How’s the hdrx20 compare to the vintage modern?
It's close/similar in a way on the low gain side of the VM. Mids are different and smoother on the PRS
my father in law bought 50watt one and 2x12 creamback cabin ,omg it way way too loud as i tried , imposible to play indoor as there is no master volume on it like 20wtt . i couldnt even turn on bass and treble volume up , i had to play clean sound . Now hes returning the 50watt and swap with 20watt .
Yeah the 20 is loud enough lol
Sounds good Ken love the bite from your SG 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks man still dialing it in, it's a lower gain plexi I have a Hendrix fuzz coming soon.
@@kenaiello4851 Sounds like you got a great start on the dialing process..
@@mitchpearrow4888 it's a loud bastard lol it does he have a master volume but having it higher brings out a little more gain
@@kenaiello4851 Sounds damn good buddy. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🍻
Congrats on the SG Ken they are great guitar’s 🤘🏻🤘🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Mitch these newer Gibsons play really good
