Why The NBA’s Most Hated Coach Is Misunderstood
Doc Rivers was once one of the most promising coaches in the NBA.. with Coach of the Year Award and a Championship. So how is he considered as one of the dumbest coaches in NBA history? From choking massive leads that seemed impossible to lose, to getting called incompetent for losing easy games with stacked teams, Doc was known more for his failures than his successes. But what if I told you that this exact same coach led the Celtics to their first championship in 22 years, and was even named NBA coach of the year in his first year? Yes, Doc definitely achieved great things, but then where did it all go wrong? And why does he continuously blame his players for his own terrible decisions?...

How A Coach With ZERO Experience Humiliated Every Team In The NBA
Просмотров 208 тыс.2 месяца назад
Gregg Popovich is considered as one of the greatest NBA coaches in history. With 5 rings, 3 coach of the year awards, and a whopping 22 straight years of making the playoffs, many wonder how a simple assistant coach with literally no professional experience would end up humiliating every team in the NBA for almost three decades. Well, it all comes down to one special tactic that allowed him to ...
How A Coach Who Refused To Play Offense Still Outscored Everyone
Просмотров 236 тыс.3 месяца назад
What if I told you that there was a basketball coach who refused to play offense, but still outscored everyone? Yes, a strategy that the NBA had never seen before, and that many believed would never work, ended up becoming the reason that Larry Brown won the most legendary NBA title in history. But how did he pull this all off? And how is it possible that a team with no MVP’s or Superstars comp...
How A Coach Who Couldn't Defend Made Every Team Fear Him
Просмотров 162 тыс.4 месяца назад
Mike D'Antoni changed basketball, and the NBA, forever. It’s 2003, and the NBA is very boring. Everyone uses the same formation, the speed of play is slow, and it is considered by many as the worst era in basketball. One of the coaches contributing to this, was Mike D’Antoni, a “boring” or "traditional" coach, just like everybody else at the time. However, Mike had a vision bigger than his comp...

He wasn't any better than Popovich. Pop won 5 with maybe 3 different teams and tactic sets. Most critically, his teams NEVER had the incredibly favorable officiating enjoyed by Jackson's teams. If the reffing had been even for Pop, he'd have 6-7 titles, and Jackson would have 2-3 fewer.

Brown philosophy had flaws ngl. Defense can win championships, but if your offense nevers adapts to improve you won't be a dynasty. Reason that pop won so much cause his offense was effective and efficient even without the greatest offensive talent to go along with his elite defense.

Man, you didn't mention that he pretty much only got his job as GM because the owner was a former military man who really liked that Pop was ex-military. Like it really felt like you were setting that up, but you just didn't say it lol. An while it's implied from him being GM, you didn't mention that he straight up fired his coach and hired himself lmao, and it definitely wasn't Hill's fault that they started off so poorly, they had just gotten slammed by injuries, though I do think Hill deserves some blame for his utterly moronic decisions in the 95 WCF, like choosing to bench Rodman to start the game because he was late.

Popovich learned the worst of USAF leadership. It doesn't matter how good you are. You just need to be in the right place at the right time, and those conditions are set by the preceding regime (who never gets the credit). The Spurs were primed for a run before Popovich arrived. So when Robinson got injured, Pop seized the opportunity and fired Bob Hill. That gifted him Tim Duncan, and the rest is history. A 6th grader could have coached that team. -- Timmy retired and it all fell apart.

He's just bad. If anything he underachieved in Boston. He went through some horrible seasons there, then they got EVERYBODY, and he managed to win one. Just one. Idk if people realize how stacked that team was. They had the big 3 and Rondo plus a strong bench of specialists and role players. Then he got to the Clippers, and THEY got everybody there. Griffin, Jordan, CP3, Jackson, Barnes, Crawford, Granger, JJ... That team was stacked as well and they failed miserably. Sterling excuse works for one season, not 7...
