Practicing a Reef 3 in Storm Ashley for Solo Atlantic 25
Просмотров 3,7 тыс.21 день назад
This was just the right weather for practicing on the berth as part of my own training for a solo Atlantic crossing to Jolly Harbour in Antigua March 2025. It was the first time I am putting in a reef 3 for encountering a storm, surges or hi-wind etc. I also want to get the time down from this vid of 1.30s to about 0.45s if I can and all done as safely as possible. Have a fab day all boaters an...

Brighton to Eastbourne Teaching yourself to sail Seven Sisters Cliffs
For offshore sail repair you might be better off with sail repair tape. You can get in big sheets with a sticky back that you just apply. I say may be better off than your solution as you will need to lower the sail and take off from the mast, which in strong winds and solo may be impossible
@@redsnappersadler34 Thx I knew there would be a better way it was a find in one of my farmhouseclearance.com instructions & tbh I just wanted to keep it onboard & see if it would run off the inverter. Thx for the reply 😄👍⛵️
How you find them in stainless?😊
Very nice.I have sealine 310 ambasador with ad41
Mach 11, Mach 111 is a 500.
You have not got anything correct with the running rigging, i would strongly suggest you go on a RYA sailing course to gain the fundimental principles of sailing a yacht before you either kill yourself or someone else.
What a complete waste of time.
Once everything is balanced out it's time to relax.

💐 wow
At 70 still my favorite bike ..light enouth to take you anywhere
You might want to recheck your waypoint..have a look at the DTW - distance to waypoint
Thx 🌝⛵️
Lovely view of the Seven Sisters - I've only seen it from Seaford Head.
Hi Bret, looks like you need to loosen off the topping lift to allow the mainsail to function properly. Once the mainsail is hoisted it supports the boom. We have a Sadler 34 as well and really enjoy sailing when we can, which is not enough 😊 Gavin
Give the sensor a tap underneath the shower tray as it’s reading OUT on the far right instrument. Depth sensor is located there
Press steer twice on the far left instrument and it will tell you your speed
And make sure the gps is turned on at the chart table first
Hi Brett, it’s a bit difficult to see from the video, but my observations would be 1. Sadler 34s are mostly headsail driven. Yours looks old and worn, but more importantly looks like a no3. That means there are two bigger sails and one smaller for gales. On my 34 I would use that in a F6. What was the wind strength? 2. It looks like the topping lift on the main should be eased about 20-30cm. Also, from your previous videos it looked like you need a bit more halyard tension, I.e. winch the sails up the mast harder. Good luck with it.
That’s very helpful Thankyou I will do that… I expect to be out soon in a F4,5 or maybe 6 if I get 4 - 5 knots under sail only I will be very happy 😄
Very interesting! I have a Sadler 34 with a ST4000(next size up). It steers very well but sometimes gets overpowered, but setting the sails with a neutral helm is the trick. Raymarine sell all the mounting bits, like the tiller pins and brackets if mounting at an angle doesn’t work. Good luck with it.
DAD dident know I bought a screamen deman! 16 years old 1972 750 kaw! Blue ✌️ ☮️
I bought a 1970 A7 Avenger SS which was quicker and faster than the later 3 cylinder. They were everywhere on the tracks back then.
so beautiful
I always thought mach 3's were the 500's, and mach 4's the 750, so this would make this a mach 2 350cc
I love dogs
Team dog
Comment if you have a dog
Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
72 or 73 ? The confusion may be because different markets had slightly different models . American , British and European bikes had suttle differences. Also not all models are available in all markets. Cheers.
Top marks for not calling it a Boyer Branston {pickle} ignition kit ! I had a KH500 {the slow one}, ported to within an inch of its life, which used to eat clutches, in spite of springs and extra washers that gave me a left hand grip like Garth, but it was immense fun until I had to buy new plates again. Best regards from Burry Port, 15 miles west of Swansea, and have a good 2024.
Bought one brand new December 1972 just before my 17th birthday from Kawasaki dealer in Hastings new Zealand had it for 2 years did 22ks no problem great bike
I had a ‘72 S2 on a K reg. Didn’t think the S2A came out until 1973.
They didn’t I have already been corrected 🌝 Thx for posting
Sound is superb .. I had the kh250 bought brand new in 1978 with pipes and mag wheels.. a Doug Hacking motorcycles special. Funnily enough I had a ford capri reg DBA 736L
That looks more like a 73!?!. The 72 didnt have that paint color or front disc brakes? And the engine covers were’t polished on the sides in 72.. still a beautiful bike!! I have one just like it in my garage👍🏻😀🇺🇸
I believe the 72 had a front painted fender also.. 73 was chrome..
Thankyou I’ll get the V5 out and have a look I am sure it will be a 73, it must if been the DT400 I had that was a 72, thx for posting 😊
👍🏻😀🇺🇸. Love those dt’s also!! I have a 73 dt250 ,dark green. All the classic 2 strokes, street and dirt, are some of the most beautiful bikes out there!!
That’s interesting thx for posting
I had the 1972 and a 1973 Kawasaki 350 triples. The 1972 was faster, but it only had four main bearings, the primary drive side of the crank would flex burning the thrust washers on the rod… i’ve seen rods completely turning, purple, and blue from being squeezed due to the flex ..this was corrected the following year by installing six main bearing cranks in the Kawasaki 350 triple.. these were great bikes that handeled just as well as the RD 350s at the racetrack, I raced both, but the 350 Kawasaki triples did not survive crashes .. The engine was a bit wide..the RDs engines survived tossing them down the track repeatedly..mine was..
wow amazing
This is amazing!!!
Thankyou
Did it sell?
