How to Bunny Hop BMX - The Easiest Way
clean bike, cult parts ? frame?
None hahaha Kink frame and kink/cinema/fiend components I do have some animal/eclat on there also
Do a tutorial on how to btch hop
idk what one is
@@billy_bikes The newb hop where both tires leave the ground simultaneously. Btch hop 180 would be funny too.
thank you billy
Grass is good at killing momentum if it's available. Planting both feet works in an emergency but it hurts the toes if you're going fast.
I don't know how we did anything on 40lb bikes with tall seats and 8" bars. New school stance is much more natural.
I have been looking for this
Probably the most useful bmx tutorial/advice vid i've ever seen
Holy you can jump high to
Great watch. New sub from Binghamton ny. Hope to see you sometime in wilkesbarre
Buttery
Great videos, i love them, i'm now trying the 360 so this Will help me allot, thanks man 🫶
This is a joke.
no this is physical therapy, you will be riding before the week is over. How is that a joke?
instructions unclear tried this and immediately ate shit
I'm sorry, idk if your just trolling or what. Other people find this video useful, I havent personally watched it in a long time. If you really busted your butt, I apologize and I'll have to revisit this video
@@billy_bikes nah this was satire but i like just putting the foot in the wheel method where you just put it right against the frame than slowly put your heal on the wheel and you just slow down
finally someone demonstrating the steezy way. I love the tire skid and one footer but i think i was putting too much of my weight back out of fear of going over my bars again 😭
thanks mate
As a 30+ y.o. who rode for 15 years and now has a laundry list of back injuries, wish someone made a video diving into this when I was young and I took it seriously specifically for injury prevention. Any younger dudes watching this, the health benefits from taking this seriously will far surpass the riding skill youll aquire from it. Riding in super deep flexion and rounded out shoulders for over a decade, took a massive toll on my body and live in pretty much a constant state of pain. Been trying to get back into bmx lately and trying to relearn how to ride with neutral posture and a proper hip hinge is quiteeeee difficult, though todays geo of tall bars and short rear ends certainly helps.
Well put I'm thirty two now and I've had my fair share of injuries. Lifting certainly helps with the falling aspect haha and having the relative strength to be able to do what you want to. Thanks for the comment bro!
Bro. You’re hilarious.
Thanks man, I'm glad you enjoyed the video
Tooth over feeble?????
Yeah buddy, you shoulda saw the clips on my story when I did this, I was also almost getting tooth hop up and rails rides. But then I started landing like this ahahah
@@billy_bikes that’s so sick I forgot already commented on it 😂 can you do this constantly or is it a pain? I tried a bunch the other day reg over opposite but couldn’t figure it out.
Being able to muscle the hop is a lot of the trick. Technique helps, but strength is definitely key. That 180 was fire
Thanks for pointing that out bro! A lot of people think because its bmx that it isnt cycling and exercise isnt a key component of this stuff. Had some guy saying he tried a whole year and another guy saying strength had nothing to do with it. I'm like well it might lol. To some it may be the technique aspect but for a lot of beginners I think its a strength thing, unless they come from some kinda other back ground like say mma, there isnt an mma fighter that is legit that lacks the strength to bhop
@@billy_bikes haha definitely, bunny hopping is a technique but high hops come with strength built over time. I used to love impressing my friends hopping up the biggest thing possible. It definitely didn’t come over night. Mike Tyson doesn’t knock people out with just technique. Broc Railford, Ty Morrow, Bradd Simms are all jacked. Working a lot has made me realize how much harder it is to ride when I’ve been lazy for a few months.
Where should i look? At the crossbar ,frontwheel or grip?
Riding is a lot like driving a car, you dont really wanna pay too much mind to where you are looking (in the vehicle), you want to look around. I thought you were commenting on a rotation video, but this applies for everything. You wanna look around like a rotation you may look downward to spot the landing, on a tailwhip as you kick it over a jump you may look down quick to spot the pedal, for fakie you know in a car you turn around and look side to side to spot any obstacles its like that on a bike, so for the barspins you wanna be looking around as you compress and as you explode and throw, you may quickly glance to spot the bars to catch but you also wanna look forwards to spot the landing as its coming. Its like driving because you constantly have to be processing what is happening when you drive similarly to riding, if you are hoping onto rails you need to look at the rail to process height of rail and how much to hop then as you land you may be looking down to see how much you are leaning into the grind then at the ground to judge how far back to lean back to land manual, then you are looking at where to take it and what is occurring around you
@@billy_bikes thanks a lot , so much detailed. Soon I will unlock that trick. Thank you very much ❤️
Aye would u agree that bmx takes time and practice to get good at like I’ve been riding 2 months now and I can do a couple grinds
my best advice bro is do all that stuff with high repetitions and you will gain much more in the process. Even learn that stuff and riding switch foot. You already are learning
Simplicity is the VIBE. 🫡
Sick to see a channel with a bigger audience checkout my channel! Thanks for the comment bro
2:02
nice! thanks for the comment also man
Step by step by step progression in 60 sec or less 😂
we out here!
Its scary but jping over objects is so helpful you might eat sh*t more often
Just at first jump over objects that won't make you eat sh*t if you case. I like using my backpack, because I always have it with me.
Thats a good idea so long as you dont have the camera on board lol
cardboard boxes bro lol
@@billy_bikes of course, boxes, traffic cones, a stick on top of some stacked beer cans, rental electric scooters, girlfriend, whatever. But for me often none of those are around so I like using my backpack.
sick!
thanks bro!
I'm rewatching this video from time to time to get right posture + get inspired!
thats sick bro, I appreciate the inspiration it gives. I didn't think it would be that type of video for people
This skatepark is in Wilkes Barre yea?
yeah buddy
hey one question! i want to learn how to manual but i can't.. can you please do a tutorial on how to manual?
@friendlyhoovygaming5 Hey man, go on my channel and search "how to manual" also check any related pieces of content. I have some articles on www.bmxgymrats.com
Cardboard box, great tip, just back from my first “box” sesh practicing my bunny hops. It’s the perfect thing, two heights and deforms when you fail🙂
I forget if I found that tip hidden in some bmx plus magazine or some video off netflix but its a sick idea because its just a piece of cardboard
great tips here! For all skill levels
Glad it was helpful!
So with a little creativity and goals you can ride anywhere.
basically hahaha I'll shred a curb bro
Mannnnnn I love these videos
Thank you bro
Rapid trick tutorials progression love it
Glad you like it! I gotta start doing more verticals like this
That is some crazy bike control
I appreciate that man, thank you!
Life has been doing life things and it’s stopped me from riding for a bit now. Gotta get back to it. My bunny hops and manuals were finally coming along lol
Your muscles will remember bro you got it man! When you find the time get back in there.. no stress fam
Are you the same Josiah doing oppo spins and crankflips?
coming in clutch with the words of wisdom bro
@@billy_bikes no but I wish it was me lol
Yo, I needed this like 10 years ago. BMX and fitness? Holy goddamn!! Fuckyeah!!!
It helps a lot man and not even the mass aspect that you build, it helps a lot with stress management and for taking the abuse of riding bmx
More like Billy Badass! Fire bro! 💯
Thanks bro!
@@billy_bikesUr welcome chief
Not sure if it’s Because we’re not committing me and my friends front foot is coming off the pedal
I think you should focus on posture/hop. I've been riding a lot of switch foot lately and when I'll rotate I'll notice foot slippage and not implementing the tuck. I can rotate both ways reg foot and almost both ways oppo foot. But I think my videos/ website blogs on posture and how to hop will help you. If you learn correct posture and snap it correctly the feet should be secure to the pedals with tension in the legs, because you are compressing the weight into the pedal and as you explode your pulling the bike upward so the pedals should be compressed into your feet throughout
Do I grip my handlebars with any special grip or thumb position?
I prob ride a more neutral wrist position and I like to grip the bars with thumb around the bar like you would grab anything. its entirely up to you, do what feels right for you. Maybe we do a video on that
Your pop on these is intense bro
Thanks bro! I been riding a long time
There's an old piece of exercise equipment that basically mimics the exact movement of a bunny hop, and I've only ever seen one in my whole life. You happen to know what I'm referring to? I've been looking for one of those things for years now..
idk in my opinion there are many aspects of lifting equip that I see relationships with bmx haha
Just subscribed, keep the vlogs coming!
Full workouts? 😁
I have full programs listed on my site
bmxgymrats.com/clothing-stores/
Awsome man thanks this helped me with hops and fakies and 180s
You are welcome homie, and thank you for the comment!!
Need it in bulk, the ledges are friggin rugged around here
I got around 25 bars
check bmxgymrats.com but if you want in bulk. Dm me on ig or sum bro
I absolutely love this format and hearing the commentary! Incredible work, thank you !! I’m a total beginner (started riding a year ago at 41) - any chance you would “commentate” tricks too? Like your setup, where you are looking, what ur thinking about, etc etc.
Great to hear! And I'll try to keep those things in mind while filming these types of videos, thanks for your input bro
What bike are you riding?
To my old ass anything under 14 just feels like it's made to loop out lol
that is understandable! I didnt start riding the super short stuff until recent years at like 27 years old
🔥 🔥 🔥
thanks for the comments my dude
My rail gets super sticky in the summer. I’ll Rotate the pegs and it helps a bit. The inconsistency between each grind drives me crazy.
try waxing that thing! We got Billy wax on the site! And videos on the channel showing to put it on the sides of the rail to reduce tire friction, some on the top of the rail never hurts!
Yoooooo! Tooth over, any tips?
Like tooth hanger hop overs or straight up over grind tooth hop back over lol because yeah and no to the second hahaha
@@billy_bikes Oppo tooth hop over double peg. Do you put weight over the rail when doing the tooth or something? I never even tried oppo tooth, but it would be sick to learn. Feebles have become impossible on my rnew ail! Either it's not waxed up and doesn't slide, or add a tiny bit of wax and my front tire feels like riding on soap.
