Looks to me that it is part of a suspender clasp.

That’s a nice find! My first impression is that it might be a lid to a small container. But from the imbossed design I think it’s early, like 1840s/50s.

Can hardly make out the writing on it but looks like a keeper!

That bale seal is a cool piece of history.

I think it came from a Dixie cup dispenser that would have been next to a water fountain or water cooler. Mid-20th century I’d guess from the styling.

Brings back memories! In my second year of teaching, I got some tadpoles at Blue Creek before school started. Found an aquarium, filled it with water and put that on a table in my classroom. My students took turns feeding them and watching. Right before Christmas break, you could see little frogs. The custodian said he'd watch them. My students named the biggest one Emma.😊 When we returned to school, there was only one frog in the aquarium! Guessing Emma got the others or another frog did. My students had hopes of each getting one. Not sure their parents would have liked that 😅
