All the money in the world will not help the jays if they continue to go after players that don't want to be in canada. I would rather they went after players that would make a serious impact at a reasonable price. Lets spend the money on a player like Willy Adames who will not only impact the field but also the club house. Every report says that he is a great teammate and a leader. I would add Adames and trade for a power bat

The Jays being " in on everyone" is a tactic used by other organizations to drive the price up on free agents and players in the trade market.. the Jays never end up getting any of them and people still step in this bullshit every single season

Let Soto sign with 1 of the big market teams that can afford the luxury tax. Now sign Vladdy to a long term contract and make some team deals not just a 1 player deal. First trade Bo Bichette ,Davis Schneider , Nathan Lukes, and 2 or 3 minor leaguers for Garret Crochet then sign another outfielder like Anthony Santander that can bat behind Vladdy and lastly sign a left handed relief pitcher like AJ Minter or Tanner Scott. Now that lays the ground work for a competitive team.
