    I appreciate your editing style! You had a nice mix of scenery and interpersonal goofin', and I always appreciate a voiceover giving more context to the video. Also, I liked that your camera movements were pretty steady? It's a little thing, but so many vlogs out there are totally nauseating with their swaying around lol Looks like you all had a blast! Thanks for showing off these flower parks - I'd been wondering what they looked like, but photos were only getting me so far. <3 (Side note I am shaking your hand about delayed update-dates, because posting videos shortly after they're recorded is hard!!)

    Hey! I’m so happy I discovered your channel, I’m actually moving to Japan this year in August! Quick question, how’re Japanese clothing sizes? I’m not sure if people are over exaggerating in the states but could you find clothing/shoes in your size?

    • @ThisWanderingFaith
      @ThisWanderingFaith 3 месяца назад

      Congratulations on moving here in August!! In the US, I wear a 14/16 bottoms and XL-2X in tops. In Japan I wear a LL (like a 2X) - 4L. It depends on the brand and style. It's not hard to find clothes online. I never find anything in stores. For shoes, I wear a 6-1/2 - 7 in the US and a 24 in Japan. I never have an issue with shoes in stores or online. My friends who are taller than the Japanese standard have troubling finding pants that are long enough. I have a couple friends who have to order shoes online because their feet are out of the Japanese standard for women. Sorry for the long reply, but I hope it helped 😅

      I still really liking it. It didn't take long for everything becomes life as usual. Teaching is what you make it. It can provide a constant challenge of wanting to be better and do more. It can also just be chill and relaxing if you want too. I like a mix of both😊

    Hi Faith, are you based in the rural area or city? And how is it like living there?

    • @ThisWanderingFaith
      @ThisWanderingFaith 7 месяцев назад

      I think most people in Japan would consider it rural. To me, it feels like living in the suburbs. I really enjoy the peace of it. If I want some city comforts, the capital city is a 40-minute train ride away and about 2 hours for Tokyo. The only downside is I like outdoor hobbies, which are usually found in rural areas, which means a car is essential if you want to save time traveling and money.

    Hi Faith, I'm finished with my 5 year degree, and I just want to know if teaching the students is nerve-wrecking or if one can adapt over time. I'm thinking of applying next year for the 2025 year as applications open in August if I'm not wrong. Are you in the rural or urban placement?

    • @ThisWanderingFaith
      @ThisWanderingFaith 7 месяцев назад

      I think in the beginning most alts are nervous, but we get used to the classes. So, in that regard, you definitely adapt over time. The lingering nerve-wrecking thing for me is always having to call on students instead of them just volunteering to answer questions. I only know about the American applications, and those usually open in the fall (arrival to Japan is in August). As for my placement, I think it's considered rural, but to me it's like living in a suburb. Good luck on your application! I think it's worth applying even if you aren't sure,. You can always decline the interview if you decide you don't want to do it anymore 😊
