I am so excited to share this tip with you all. I break it down in new short and show ya exactly how to use it. Hope it’s helpful!

I have had that happen before and usually it is one of a few things that causes it. First is weighing resin instead of measuring by volume, not mixing well and having a weak spots or adding too much additive (colors and glitters) so it cant create friction to cure proper. I throw it out. I cut my loss and don't waste anymore resin.

@ I was trying to weigh my resin. You just see so many doing it. But I caught on real quick that wasn’t working. Now I have cups that I’ve drawn lines on. And yes, I get a little excited adding mica and glitter. I really don’t have a lot of alcohol ink yet, but I love the mica powder and a little glitter. 🤣

Yes it has to be the clear pva for it to turn into slime and that keeps glitter equally distributed through the project. Yes sometimes sinking is great. I have some snowflake ornaments I did with lights and it sank there it looked great!

@ I have the snowflake, I might even have some lights floating around. I had to retire for health reasons 3 years ago. I’ve played with a lot of crafts just trying to keep myself busy. The resin though, it is so much fun.

Yes! Absolutely and they key is to shape your lights that bend with wire so you can form it to the mold so you're not fighting after you pour resin. I had that issue and decided to start forming them so easy to put in resin to stay without floating or popping out of resin. I will be doing that this week. I am excited to show y'all these tricks. :) Stay tuned!

Hey darlin. There are rules for UV resin that don't apply to 1:1 resin like your colorants in UV resin must be transparent so the UV light can get through to cure your piece. Two part resin uses a chemical reaction (molecules from Part A and molecules from Part B create friction (heat) to cure your piece) UV uses UV rays to cure. Because of this chemical reaction you can use opaque colors like pigment pastes that are heavy and create solid colors that stay where you put them. Where Mica powders "dance" and move in resin to create beautiful patterns. I do have a more in depth Color Video already up if you look under videos "How to Color Resin" that will help break it down even farther. I am updating that video this week. Hope that helped. @@KatsSouthernCharms Oh, I can’t wait for an easier way for a dragons eye. I only had a full bodied dragon so I have like 6, while I waited on new molds to come in. 🤣 Blooms would be great for an easier way too. 😉 Arthritic hands and squeezing a pastry bag seems to difficult.

Hey doll. I have an air purifier we added because I have long “vid”. I use nitrile gloves and open windows. I have 4 windows and sliding doors around me as I now craft in my kitchen instead of basement. I’m on oxygen 24/7. I also have N95 masks I use when have to spray aerosol and for any resin with strong smells. I’m claustrophobic so I cannot do the full face mask without triggering panic attack. Be sure to protect yourself and I always recommend discussing with doctor that’s what I did.

YES! I am so glad I am not alone. I had a failed back surgery over 10 yrs ago so I have to have good support and let's be real, it is so fun to be in a recliner like you say in bed with tv, doing what we love while all comfy! :) Have you started Christmas yet?

@KatsSouthernCharms think you get better results when your comfy. You can spot a mistake and correct it before you get to a point your unable to correct it. I would have if I had been home but I've been in the glorious sun in turkey for 6 weeks. Unfortunately that's about to end tomorrow. So will start the christmas planning when I get back.

Q-Your doing resin inside and right in your face? Are you wearing all the PPE? I’m new in resin and have been able to work outside, I love it! It’s getting cold now though and am concerned with moving inside. I don’t have a UV setup, is it different than regular resin. Thank you!😊

@leilalineberger995 uv uses a uv lamp to cure it so it's cured in minutes. Only suitable for transparent molds so can cure with the light from both sides and only for small things like other wise it can become more expensive than epoxy. Also can't add too much colour to it as the lamp wouldn't be able to penetrative and cute it all the way through. I use it to fix minor air bubbles when/if possible. Jewellery, sometimes keyrings, top coating small items and as a glue. As for inside with epoxy. I try to make sure I have good ventilation. Old clothes. Gloves and apron. I have disposable ones at present but plan to get a good plastic one.

That is an idea!!! I will have to work on that now 🤣🤣🤣

@oliviapower6503 lol me, nah. I'll have anything important finished anything else I'm not bothered about. Used to love christmas. Get bored with all the commercialism of it now. And I only know the time frame cos my birthday was last week. My birthday would arrive and family would start panicking was only 10 weeks. My sisters birthday exactly 10 weeks before mine, they'd start talking christmas and plans then. Then my birthday comes around and they panick cos they not started any of the plans yet lol

I am happy to help. This lamp has 3 timers on it and I would say if you have a smaller project maybe just a small circle as compared to a thicker pendant piece, the circle would require less time under the lamp than the thicker pendant. Having those timers help you not have pieces under lamp too long s they can overheat and warp or curve. If that happens it is a simple fix. You just heat those piece up and set a book or something heavy on it and it will flatten again. Did that help?

There is a part two that does show the finished product. I thought it was set to play right after or linked at the end. If you click videos you should see the same picture as this one with a Part 2 in the corner and that is the second. Having more experience under my belt I stopped making 2 part videos and now do it all in one go. This may be one I need to do an updated video on. :) Thanks for reaching out. Alcohol inks especially the darker ones aren't transparent they are light meaning they float to the top but light can't get through. Certain lighter ones you can use like the Marabu I use for shimmer it is alcohol ink. I would say hold up the bottle of ink and if ya can't see through it, it won't work. I have tried darker ones myself and they are a bubbly blob of a mess because light cant get through them. Hope that helped answer your question. Thanks for asking :)

I just laughed when I realized and saw the foam in spray bottle. LOL It happens to the best of us.

It was so fun. They key was using 3 different colors of mica when paining the inside before the pour. I used interference green powder, Meyers green moss mica and a light green. then poured polyurethane resin that turns white. Now I am using nail crystals to add "lights" to the tree. That video is coming tomorrow. Be on the look out. UV is the flavor of the day! :)
