Ok, I’m thinking about moving to Waldorf but some of these comments are scaring me lol! I’m a 52 year old female are there things to do for seasoned people like myself or is it just straight up boring? I’m not dead yet still like go enjoy life. And why everybody keep acting like it takes 5 days to get from Waldorf to DC is it really that bad? I work in DC i expect traffic that’s just how the dmv is unfortunately!

Moved from pg to waldorf 6 yrs ago. Best decision.....saved 60k on damn near same home in largo, new construction and my property value went up over 100k already.

And whole time we only 20 miles drom dc. People act like we 3 hrs away. Just avoid rush hour.

Born and raised in NE, once on my own lived in Barry Farms, Whaler Place and eventually got married and moved to Hyattsville. Fast forward to now wife I started new home searching across the Bay Bridge and realized how much cheaper not only the homes are but the quality of living. Eventually settled in Delaware 2hrs away from Bowie, no traffic except for the summertime, no taxes, and minutes away from 5 different beaches. Oh, and little to no crime.

The house are so close to each other and Waldorf is so crowded. I like to come for shopping but head home to Prince Frederick where I have land and peace. To each their own.

I am surprised i thought Fredrick was going downhill but at number one i was shocked. Elkridge was flooded with people from baltimore, expect things to go bad there soon i give it 5-10 years and they will have weekly shootings the demographic change in elkridge is shocking and is not going well for the people already living in the area!

I am curious what the overlay of race of people leaving and the race of people who are moving in? This would play a good factor because people want to live where more people look like themselves and when they see the place changing demographics they know that it is time to sell and move on!

Im the opposite, I would never move to Waldorf. I just don’t like that area. I feel like it’s nothing to do down there and I couldn’t deal with the traffic. Honestly I hate the southern part of PG County. I would rather live in the largo, lanham, or Bowie area.

Remember to leave the city mindset when you move. And inform your visiting friends and family to do the same. Otherwise it will be another PG in 3 to 5 years.

Bro, I was born in SE and grew up in PG (1985-2008). I moved to Mo County and honestly I love it ! You could not pay me to move back. My job, family everything just fits together ( and this is coming from a 2a guy) I been done with PG(20 years ago) and most of my family either lives in DC or one of the other close cities. I don't hate my PG life experience ...I just feel like the county needs to really learn how to diversify and expand. I still have family that think PG is still like the days of 88/89.. lol.. They are long gone and most people along with it. I occasionally come back to the parks to hike but it's more of a nostalgia thing at this point! God bless and happy holidays ❤❤💪🏾🙏🏾

Maryland/DMV to include PG is great to get your start but honestly I am transplant and I believe the time here has expired...great experiences that I could not have had anywhere else, but its time to move to somewhere with less traffic and more land...
