Over the course of a week we shot our beloved kodak colorplus 200 and then sent out the rolls to three different labs we use rotationally. Enjoy!
the infamous holga

the holga has been circulating a bit on my instagram feed. Before knocking it I picked one up and gave it a spin. It shot pretty much how I thought it would. Try it out for yourself!

    I still can't believe how cheap this camera is. When I started as an assistant at the end of the 90´s the photographer I worked for had a F5 and it was amazing but I dreamed of having the closest camera I could afford and the F100 was just perfect... but still couldn't afford it by then. It's a terribly underrated camera indeed,

    This week I got an F-100. My lens should come today. This is not my first film camera but I am glad to add it to the growing herd. If the lens get here, I just may try running a roll through it this weekend. I'll have a good time learning the camera's "in's and outs".

    Instant subscribe! I've been so interested in adding 16mm into my wedding films but have always wondered how it actually feels shooting on a wedding day! Do you ever find that the sound of the 16mm motor distracts the guests during the ceremony?

    • @playingwithfilm
      @playingwithfilm 8 месяцев назад

      so glad to hear! I wouldn't say it "distracts" as much as it can catch a few back rowers ogg their guard. Our couples know it has a hum, so they arent bothered by it! Most guest think its the coolest thing ever!

      @@playingwithfilm Thanks for the reply! Makes sense, I guess I just get insecure sometimes with the loudness of my 310xl when shooting super 8 during the ceremony.

    Hello. If the camera was $50, you may have the GCFN model. Which is the glass lens version & has sharper images. You should check out Candido Baldacchino, Myles Katherine & Anna Starr/Plastic Perspective Zine - they have really good results from the Holga. Knowing how to take a good photo can be possible on any tool. It’s certainly within the artists hands & the their mind w/ the eye they’ve developed to compose images. P.s. I also like Noah Wolfe & Catherine Taylor’s wedding photo examples with the Holga. I’m pretty obsessed with the Holga😅 & was actually introduced to them via photography class in college.

    Daaamn! This is so beautiful! Amazing film! What type film did you use and did you change your film for darker settings, like the reception?

    • @playingwithfilm
      @playingwithfilm 9 месяцев назад

      thanks! we use kodak vision for it all. typically use a 50d/250d for daytime work and 500t for all reception. we also make sure to have external light in receptions too.

    I have four F100 cameras. Two work well, one needs repair and one is for parts. Much lighter than my F4s, it’s a great film camera. Many of these are “sticky”, mostly the film door. They were meant to be Grippy, but in time this condition developed. Be aware, if you’re looking into this camera.

    A Great Camera for sure, I’m not sure underrated is the best term for it. If I didn’t already have a N 90S I would buy one in a minute.

    Hi, I haven't received my F100 as of yet but my N90s likes using center weighted metering when the subject is 'disconnected' from the exposure the rest of the world is undergoing. Congrats on the place and the family!
