Hi there, I am a traditional hot rodder at heart! I also buy and sell early 20s and 30s car parts on the side. Most of the content on my channel will be my cars and some of my families cars the triple crest roadster, my 33 dodge 5 window, my dads 53 ford I am building him, my moms 37 chevy pickup I am building her, maybe even my folks 66 charger I am wrapping up! There will also be friend/customer cars sprinkled in, pin up contests and car shows! Most Shop Equipment is designed to be bolted down and so many people don’t want to because they’re wanting everything mobile. A lot of “ flex” from these is actually the entire thing moving around. Treat all your equipment like you do with a bench vise Mount it firmly . Even anchoring my drill press was a major improvement that you’ll never expect unless you do it.

The gage matter voltage the sender don't
@@MrJeep75 you want the ohms to match between the guage and the sender. My point was that you can simplify all of that by using the correct sending unit that came with the guage. Unless of course if you are using aftermarket guages

I know little about cars, do you have to do that to the whole floor or just specific sections for repair?
@@r.r.8165 If you go to my channel, youll find a video on the oliver roadster that will explain in detail but the short answer is, I built this car out if about 10 different makes and models so the floor structure is completely custom. Because I didnt have a complete body, making a 1 or 2 piece floor pan wasnt an option. Thats because I didnt know what the final body shape would be. So at this point what I am doing is more like final fitting to tie everything together

Not a big ford guy but I like 292 and 312’s always thought they were kool
After the y block I lose interest in for engines as well. There are 1000 hp y blocks that have been built, they are very underrated engines
I love those old Y Blocks!! They are well built and can make some good power . When I was in highschool a good friend had a beautiful dark green 54 Ford. Lots of memories there! There's not much difference between a 53 and a 54. Good luck!

My first V8 was a car. Jack Web drove in Dragnet a 239. My friend's uncle was a chauffeur for Henry jr. and Edsel. When the car was returned to Ford it was given to my friends uncle. It was a grey 2 door Custom. My friend took it to Tijuana for nice tuck n roll, in black, carpets and headliner too. The grey was changed to white. It's in the TV cars web site.

That was a nice review. I’m getting ready to restore a hydraulic system like that that my uncle had in his body shop for at least 40 years. I just did a video on building a prototype bomber seat for my T bucket project. The final product with have a lot of dimple die flanged holes. I’m a new sub to your channel. @calebward3076 my parents moved back from N. Dakota in a 49 2 door V8 coupe to Los Angeles.
Why. I just didn't get it I have never had an engine start first time. EVER
@@johnbrown-so3vz well.... this engine ran 12 yrs ago, then i got it and i got it to pop, not really run (i have a will it run video on it if you want to see) then i pulled the intake and discovered that it was likely rebuilt and has next to no miles on it. I changed the spark plugs and put fresh oil in it, i never messed with the timing. This was a very VERY good candidate to be a quick runner. All of that said, i was still very nervous and anxious to really hear it run. The carb needs rebuilt but otherwise Id say I got very lucky!

Morning Oliver. Early posting aye. Deja Vu on the 53. I mentioned to ya a while back my older brother had a 53. His was a flathead V8. Our dad got him an offenhauser 3 carb for it. So it looked so similar to your dad's. It was the same color blue as that engine bay (done with a brush 🤭). Weird how they ran that crossover exhaust on Y Blocks. Never did understand that. My brother put a manual choke on his and a coil in trunk with sparkplugs bunged into the tailpipes so he could shoot small flames . Like the custom grill. She's gonna be " Bitchin'"! Thank you! Ive been laboring over the editing so thats great that its translating! Yeah 53s had flatheads, this one had the crossmember butchered out at some point and a y block shoved in. I swapped that y block with the one currently in it and redid the motor mounts. Thanks for watching!

@@Awsom47Merc I was talking to him about it the other night. He has a good gameplan at this point. It has been a struggle but thats the problem with starting an engine some unknown put together. My advice to him was tear it down to a short block and reassemble it himself so he knows it was done right

i love the tool mine is an eastwood but i think its the same tool. Also the bauer is a little better price and drums are pricey from eastwood. awesome tool
@@fasteddie4294 im almost positive all eastwood tools are made in the same factory. Ive looked closely at the english wheels and bead rollers... i wonder if the hf drums fit the eastwood?
