My wife and I will be boarding the rocky mountaineer travelling gold leaf from Vancouver to Banff in early September to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. What would be your top tip of things to do in and around Banff? We will be stopping there for 2 days before driving through the Rockies to Jasper.
Hi, Ivan. Whatever you do in that area will be great, but we enjoyed Lake Louise the most. We took a horseback ride around the Lake to the glacier that was wonderful. Of course, the hotel itself was probably the nicest one we stayed at. Just take your time and take in that beautiful area. This was truly the best trip we've taken in a long time. Have fun and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
We just booked our Grand Circle tour in September from Vancouver to celebrate our 30th anniversary and my husband's 81 birthday is while we are on the tour.
Ran into Sid at Harris Teeter today, wearing his Rocky Mtn jacket and I had to ask him about the train. He suggested I view the video and we really enjoyed watching and hope someday to do this trip. Robert, Whispering Pines.

We took this trip June 16-25 2016. It turned out to be a perfect time of the year for the trip. Not too hot and not too cool. But no matter when you go, it'll be a great trip!
