Go on line for off cuts of artificial grass, you'll get it at a much cheaper price, also you can easily clean artificial grass, so don't worry about it getting dirty, just spray AG cleaner and use a power washer, then buff up with a broom to bring the grass leaves back up. The only thing i don't like about it, is that it gets incredibly hot under the sun. If you have a pet though, check the backing of the artificial grass you'll need, one will hold on to urine and it will smell awful. You shouldn't have compacted the earth down, it will be a nightmare when it rains as it will have nowhere to drain. A minimum of 2 inches of MOT and then 1 inch of grano dust would have been better, not only for drainage, but also so you don't get small sink holes in areas. Personally i would have removed at least 3 to 4 inches more depth of earth, earth is easy to get rid of, you could have put it on Gumtree for free, it would have been gone in a week. Great job though, look forward to seeing the finish.

Nice, I wouldn't get the artifical grass though, you'll soon learn how dirty and filthy they get with bird/animal poop, bleeching from the sun's UV and general debris from wind. Some grass seed and compost would be soo much better.
