Hello! Thank you for this video. Something that I can't seem to find the answer to anywhere: if I file i-140 from abroad and receive approval, does that mean I can then enter the US? Or do I need to complete the green card process before I can enter? Thank you for any guidance!! 🙏🏼
No. You need a green card or a visa to enter the U.S.
@@drcatslabthank you! I think where I get confused is that I know you have to go for a visa interview after approval but it sounds like that visa is not something that can get you into the country
“Empathy is the ability to emotionally understand what other people feel, see things from their point of view, and imagine yourself in their place” I think Dr. Goobie has empathy for patients. And that is what all doctors should have empathy. Money makes people to have lack of empathy.
Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge!

No age is not a factor
My advice to you would be to stay in the US as long as you can work. Elections may come and go. After 4 years it may be a different administration. Put money into 401k and if you have extra put it in index funds. When you are ready to retire, you could go back to China or any other place to live comfortably off your retirement income. My advice to all my friends is to keep away from politics/news for the next couple of years.
Not easy to start over again in China - residency, strange place, don’t know anyone, etc. Been in US for over 50 years, totally got used to the US way. Despite the latest development, it is still guaranteed free speech, etc. Third world or developing countries are worse than US - living conditions, infrastructure, political environment, etc. leaving or relocating is trading one set of problems with another - jumping from frying pan to fire?
If you leave the US, are you going to give up the green card or renounce citizenship? lol
From a political standpoint, unless you are in the US illegally, you have nothing to worry about. There has been a lot of fearmongering from both sides in battle royale attempt to motivate people to the polls to vote for their team. Unfortunately, many people actually believe the political rhetoric and thus incur undue stress and anxiety. It sounds like you have underlying reasons for wanting to move. It doesn't matter, just leave. You don't need a reason. Life is short, so go be in a place you will enjoy more than your current place. Perhaps do this every 10 years or so.
The beauty of living in the US is, if you don't like it here, you can leave, no questions asked. Just buy your ticket, make sure you're ok in whatever country you're heading to and leave. It's really just that simple.
Thank you for these comments, which equate in a somewhat opposite way to my own experience. I lived 10 years in China (2006-16), and now have been in the Philippines since 2016. Although Canadian, I grew up in the U.S., so I understand well your experiences in the U.S. and somewhat so in China. My time was spent primarily in Guangzhou, but with 18 months in Nanjing. Believe it or not, I managed to not drink alcohol for the entire 10 years, but the pressure was always there. It was made somewhat easier by the fact that I was a Professor in Guangzhou, but I worked for a company in Nanjing. Yes, it was easier to say "no" as a foreigner, and Chinese women were my biggest defenders. I feel for you when it comes to the lack of your native cuisine in the U.S.. I must admit that I did not miss western food in China, and I still for the most part do not. As a nutritionist, I favour the traditional Asian diet, although I still venture back to my "roots" on occasion. Having a Chinese wife has made it an easy transition. Good luck with your decision, which is always a personal one. Career and family are important - family does come first. And evening walks along the Bund have something to be said for themselves as well.
I’m so glad you have such a positive experience in China - I’m wondering why did you move to the Philippines?
@@drcatslab That is a valid question. The regime change in China made it more and more difficult for me to access information in English for the reason you mentioned - the Firewall got higher and more difficult to get through, and the "climate" changed from the Hu jintao, Wen jiabao regime. I also was offered another teaching spot in Manila. But that being said, I would move back if my wife felt the need. I could still live there.
@2644-b7y Thanks for sharing your perspective!
So , you are homesick, it happens.

You think CCP is better than Republicans? Lol bye.
I mean their infrastructure is better than ours tho. You think gloating about 70+ year old infrastructure is something to be proud of? Our streets and transportation systems are on life support
@dankmemes3153 Our infrastructure can be updated, unlike the Communists. It's fine if that's what you desire. The rest of us would rather have outdated infrastructure instead of the CCP. Freedom matters to us.
@@BornKafir we have just as many if not more survailance cameras in the states than china. There was this little something called the NSA if you dont recall, freedom right? Our justice system benefits the rich and police force are riddled with tyrants on ego trips with qualified immunity.
Unless your are living here illegally you have nothing to worry about. The mainstream media clearly has influenced your outlook regarding the election and your opinion of this country that welcomed you to be here for 10yrs for you to then talk down on it because of the recent election. You talk about a glass ceiling when you should be aware that Asians earn the highest per'capita in this county so the idea of you having a glass ceiling is being extremely naive. Hey the decision is on you. We MAGA supporters want people that want to be here as long as they respect to honor the laws and values that made this country great. The idea of you thinking you'll have more rights in China than the U.S is shocking. Ask the Uyghur's regarding racial bias in China...
You seem like an intelligent person but you're definitely believing the propaganda that you're fed. "By this election you can tell what kind of country America is." Seriously? Wanting a secure border and not be taken advantage of by other countries while we send billions of dollars means we are racist? Means we are sexist? Yes, Asians and white people are discriminated against in the name of "diversity". College admissions and job opportunities are more difficult for Asians and white people. It is not the Republican side doing that though. And as a woman, you literally have more opportunity than I do as a man. I have worked in cybersecurity for the last 15 years. There are scholarships and programs available exclusively for women. Nothing like that exists exclusively for men. The "glass ceiling" that you are referencing is nonsense. Not only are you able to rise to the top as a woman, but companies are more likely to promote you simply to show that they have a larger percentage of women in leadership positions. Just to signal that they are progressive. The liberals that you seem to be siding with here are the ones making things more difficult for Asians. Asians are overwhelmingly scoring better on tests and have the highest qualifications of any racial group. Liberals believe that they need to discriminate against Asians because they do not want jobs/colleges to be "less diverse". They see it as undesirable to have Asians over-represented. Conservatives just want the most qualified people to be admitted/hired. If that means 90% of the people are Asians, so be it. Trump saying he is against illegal immigration has you worried as a legal immigrant? Would the CCP just let me walk into China without a visa and then allow me to stay indefinitely? If you are in the US on a work visa, working in a high-skill position, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. You are exactly the kind of person we want living and working here. Happy to have you. Sneak into the country and require the US taxpayer to provide you food, housing and everything else? The US citizens want you gone.
Yea I was sad soo many Americans are believing misinformation.
China prior to year 2000 was a Hermit Kingdom just like North Korea but China has evolved since then once the USA cast the deciding vote to Allow China to be in the WTO China took off

No Chinese person would leave the country. They know what true communism is, and China is it.

Such a thoughtful analysis of AI's role in science and medicine! I really appreciate how you highlight the balance between efficiency and empathy-while AI can handle repetitive, data-heavy tasks like diagnostics with incredible accuracy, it can’t replace the human connection patients often need, especially in fields like pediatrics and psychiatry. The potential for AI to support psychiatrists by analyzing large data sets for treatment patterns is exciting, but as you pointed out, mental health treatment is so complex and personal that complete replacement seems far off. I also love the point about evolving roles rather than outright job replacement. AI might automate certain tasks, but roles requiring human intuition and critical thinking, like experimental scientists or surgeons, will likely remain irreplaceable. And yes, the emphasis on lifelong learning is key embracing continuous learning and adaptability will be essential as AI advances. Overall, I totally agree that while AI will change the landscape of medicine and science, it should ideally support human expertise rather than replace it. Great video!

Thanks for sharing the insights and story. I enjoyed the video and find it valuable while I am struggling on career plans.
Nutrition is showing itself to be the future of medicine. The dictatorship of BIG Pharma nevertheless currently continues to make all the rules in medical practice and really does not care about any leaky roof. God help the physician who tries to side step the heavy hand of big Pharma. SO, a great doc like MAN Doobie ups and quits and seems to be taking an interest in food's ability to cure. Check out INDEPENDENT thinker William Li, M.D., researcher in using food as medicine.
If you have a little understanding about Dr Goobie's environment and personality. You would kind of understand why he's in medical field and why he's quitting: His father is a doctor, actually very good one. But, since he was young, he leaned toward humanity behavior/philosopher. Money is important. But I felt this video was heavily just discussing about status and financial rewards. But little about traditions and spiritual rewards.
Very helpful information before I apply postdoc. I will still apply, but I will keep in mind there are other options.

Dunno why this video is getting flack. If the goobie dude had delivered same message with far less prestigious credentialing, his video would not have received many views. He wasn't especially unique or articulate with his message any more than would be commensurate on average for such a video from someone who was changing jobs from let's say, working as a nurse to opening up a small business of hand-made goods. There was nothing practical or particularly innovative about his advice. Good for him, but it's fine to have a plurality of perspectives so people don't blindly jump on the clickbait train and follow his advice without understanding the context.
How much will it cost to hire an immigration lawyer.?

Hi! For two self-addressed return envelopes, "To address" will be mine. How about the "From addresses"?
Science is limited to what man knows, and is always looking for complicated ideas (much like this video) When in reality the solutions are very simple, it’s about creating the environment that is conducive with our well created body. I take my hat off to people who have been enlightened and have the courage to change their life path and try to make amends for mis-takes of the past. All the best to Scoobie and Doobie and other like minded professionals that offer realistic, non invasive solutions. We the general public are most grateful for your honesty and integrity 🙏 and we salute you. 🫡
Good job.
Congratulations! In your video you say the first step is to gather the references. So, that's that mean that they don't have to know your proposed endeavour? I had heard you have to write your endeavour first and then share it with potential references. Isn't it that the case? Thanks ahead for clarifying.
