colder water, dry spell, couldn't even coax them out with a few live-lined bluegill. but the trusty swimshad came through!

i love the smallie fishing at this fishery so much that i've always been reluctant to put down the ultralight spinning setup. but the bite was slow enough that i said, "whatever, full send on the fly." i'm glad i did. lefty's deceiver produced instant results, my casting on the 6wt got better, one smallie took a green mop, and i even got one on the popper at sunset. i do think adding the interm...

pretty much the last catch of the trip. took off screaming with some chunked spot. got itself snagged for a big and thought i was out of luck, but he found water again. super fun fight. stingrays are always a blast. cape may, nj
