Wissahickon Valley Park is one of my favorite places to visit. History & Nature together like no other park in PA. I'm glad that you made it there. Thank you for sharing!
i will def be going back..there's too much to see in one day:)
It was a fun hike 👍🏼😊
lol..except for the parking,..haha..but couldve beem worse i suppose. Probably much easier on a weekday
So much history in our backyard ❤ Happy trails!
yes! happy trails to you also!
Hello, just found you…
hope you like my page:) just trying to introduce and review trails somewhat close to home!
I hiked this trail back in May.
Can we call Daniel Boone a Pennsylvania Hillbilly? He liked traversing the high country of the early American frontier. There is a monument to Daniel Boone in Boonsboro, Maryland, that is part of the Appalachian Trail, but I believe the people in Kentucky loved him the most. - He is credited with finding a passageway into Kentucky. While living in Kentucky, he did have to fend off the Indians and did fight in a couple of battles during the American Revolution. He certainly lived an interesting life.
i'd call him a hillbilly of monumental status:) i remember reading about him a lot growing up and his life always fascinated me. i used to pretend i was like him( even tho i was a girl). i guess some things never change!
Really cool trail 👍🏼😊
I walked this trail on Labor Day.
Excellent video, have a great day
thanks for watching:)
Outstanding video
thank you!
Good lake views and you got out to hike 👍🏼😊. As usual, thanks for sharing info about the trails
yeah, if only i had a boat..lol
@@TheFeralFemale130 😂🤣
It seems like a nice place for water activities and/or group activities. Not really my style either. I like quiet shady trails and little nooks and crannies.
definitely- i like the feel of being immersed in the forest. It's sort of like like when i was a kid - i always had a secret 'spot' nobody i snuck off to that nobody knew about:)
I thoroughly enjoyed our walk together, Lovie❤️🍁. Music was spot on! Thank you.
thanks so much for watching Dwight!
Just a helpful bump to get the RUclips algorithm God's to help you break 100 views
what an awesome place to explore. I really like the waterwheel! Thank you for sharing, my friend!
thanks for watching! yes it was..and totally unexpected- the best kind of adventure! That waterwheel was the coolest!
Pretty amazing place with loads of history! Thanks! Happy Trails!
thanks..it was a wonderful adventure!
Just what I needed right now. Thank you.
thanks!!
Beautiful walk!
thanks:)
I miss Pennsylvania I have been in Florida too long I used to live in the Pottstown area haven't been to Hopewell since I was a kid
been here most of my life- never knew there were so many cool places!
My husband and I used to walk our dogs up there all the time, it’s a great place.
yes, very family and pet friendly:)
a facebook friend told me the stone waterfall was "new" and that the lake was drained a few years back- neat!
Very interesting. I had no idea about that place/location but there’s a lot of history 👍🏼
yeah- was a surprise for me too..a wonderful surprise:)
I've been puzzled and impressed by how well mannered and charming you are, especially considering that you're feral.😊
lol..aww..ty:)
Bring your bike the next time a great ride from Columbia to Falmouth boat ramp
lol..i dont even own a bike..but it sounds fun!
@@TheFeralFemale130 & another great trail to ride, Enola Low Grade Rail from Turkey Hill to the other side of Quarryville over 20 miles.
@@roberthollinger7900 ive hiked the Turkey Hill Trail a few times which is partially on the low grade trail..but last time i just turned around because i hate hiking on pavement..lol
@@TheFeralFemale130 yeah I can understand that
"It's raining again" you didn't look happy there 😂 That tree root at 25:00 looked like a triceratops skull 😅 Happy trails!
lol..i just saw two huge eyes
@@TheFeralFemale130 😄
Definitely want to rock hop there...I haven't hopped there yet, just south of the bridge...maybe I won't slide into the river this time 😂 I wish that the other lock heading south ... 13? would get worked. There's a lot more in the area of that lock pertaining to the Susquehanna Tidewater canal. Happy trails!
lol..i'd be afraid the siren would go off just as i got to the middle!
@@TheFeralFemale130 😄😄😄😄😄
I met some AT through hikers one afternoon and we talked about the spider webs. They called it silver floss.
some of them are more like silver chains..lol
Great! Even when raining 🌧️.
indeed..i got lucky with tree cover
Way to get out on a rainy day and love up the forest. That indeed looked and sounded magical. One of the rock formations looked like a turtle to me. You were just glowing!😊
thanks...yeah i was determined..lol..not every hike is epic, for sure..but i try to get something out of it:)
If you ever get the chance to go back there in the February/March timeframe, that reservoir is on a bird migration route...snow and Canadian geese by the thousands! It's an incredible sight to see a large group landing or taking flight! Happy trails!
wow..didnt know that! thanks!
Chickies is nice for sunsets...especially when you get a nice reflection off the river.. I think that round piece of concrete is all that's left of an old trolley..I read somewhere that up on that bluff was a small amusement park with a trolley... Happy trails!
wow..thats crazy..it wasnt there in the late 80's - i started going out there in 1988..and then again a bunch in 1992..i'll have to research this! Thanks!.
yes, i just looked briefly..says there was a trolley as well as an amusement park..cool
It looks like a great hike . 👍🏼☺️
been there 4 times now:)
@@TheFeralFemale130 would love to hike that trail
@@TheFeralFemale130 would love to hike that trail ☺️
Another good hike 👍🏼 🦇
The part that you said could be a part of an old pavilion is actually part of the old trolley rail that ran from Marietta and Columbia to bring people up to the Rock.
nice! i was wondering..thanks!!
You deserved that dinner after all that! Sweet that you climbed before. You are brave … I’m no longer good with heights. It’s incredible all the places you’ve found to hike this Summer. Continue to heal and enjoy your days off.😊
thanks so much. I try to make the most of my few days off:)
4 trails in one day 👍🏼 wow! Amazing as usual 😊
Another great video of a cool hike 👍🏼😊. Thanks for sharing
thanks and see ya sunday!
@@TheFeralFemale130 yes! 👍🏼
You’re not silly at all in the beauty you see. I see it too. I can also relate to the frustration and concern for our collective state. So glad you have these trails close by that you can hike and enjoy the peace, Lovie.😊❤️
since i am alone 99% of the time now( off and on trail) i think more deeply about these things..
Many times when I'm hiking and the forest is quiet, I'm like... What's going on mother nature?... Haha! It can be creepy; it usually doesn't last long before I hear some birds or water as I continue on the trail.
same! my mind goes right to some horror or sci fi movie..lol
I love supporting fellow female hikers in PA!
thanks so much!
Thank you for making these videos, I am in the same area and I hike a lot of the same trails. Sometimes I drive for close to an hour not really knowing what to expect. It’s very nice to be able to open RUclips and get a preview of almost every trail in the area. And on days that it’s raining or I can’t get out in nature it’s nice to be able to virtual hike with your videos. Thanks and please keep making more excellent videos!!!
aww..thanks..that is exactly what i was hoping to hear when i started doing these! I know i do the same with several other channels - either for reviewing or inspiration. Sometimes i just watch a whole video of someone walking a random trail just to virtual hike too!
looks like you had a fun day - So if you want to see Tanks their are 2 new Museums on the outskirt of town "WW2 American Experience" & "Wheels of Liberation" also sept 21/22 at Ike's Farm is WW2 Weekend with a big encampment on the site (I'll be there with F/504th 82nd Airborne) the theme is "1944:The Great Crusade" I would also checkout on youtube some of the history channel's - History Savior 1941 / Forward Gettysburg / Projects_Past just to name a few. there is so much to see there can't do it in 1 day
lol...it's strange...once i left there, i really never wanted to go back much..but i DO like tanks!!
@@TheFeralFemale130 loved living there , try to go back as much as i can
Any idea what the water temp was? Did you see any fish in the stream? Brook trout perhaps?
i saw a few fish , yes.. not sure what the temp was though. Someday i'd like to get out and "re- learn" how to fish from the shore like i did as a kid!
Soothing and calming ☺️
Beautiful! Nurture nature❤️
i wanna do a longe compliation of water later this year...it's so soothing
Great sound effects for the witches hat portion 😊😂🧙
you wouldnt believe how long that took me..lol
It was a nice hike 👍🏼😊
thanks for joining!!
Really neat! Way to overcome All Trails directions.🙌
What an adventure! For me, those kind of outings push me out of my zone and ultimately lead to a neat inner accomplishment …when it’s all said and done. Glad you’re back at it and hope you’re all healed uP. Big smiles to you, Lovie😊
thanks Dwight..i love love love exploring and adventuring in all of these new areas!
Have done several hikes around the battlefield 👍🏼
i used to live in gettsyburg back in 2001-2006..i never visited the battlefields while living there. Lots of tourists ...weirdly there was a road right across from me that "secretly" led to a park with a whole row of cannons...i used to run and ride my bike on it
