Excellent. That slow motion is a great idea.
Love the video Tony i am going to try to make one as my free hand fluting i break way to many😎🤙
Looks like so much fun. I’m getting ready to get into this. I’m a jeweler and I make jewelry a lot of it, but I wanna get into doing this stuff. Looks fun.
Super cool
Awesome to watch
What about from ur head
@@shanegrapengeter7908 my hair works 😆
ToTony good day , Aris from Sparta Greece. I make myself the clay by the same way you do this, with a shieve for the mosqitos. The clay looking is perfect, but when I try to work, nothing work!!! The clay brake,😭😭😭 So i can not to make anything.... What i made wrong? Why the clay of the market is good? I do not want to by clay from market because I don't know what they put inside. Can you do something for me? Right to me please because I don't speake goog english...
@@argirismouroufas3854 I’m not sure what your clay looks like. A lot of red clays don’t work well they crack. May sure to add sand , let dry for a week then heat slowly in the oven. Then take to fire
@@argirismouroufas3854 corrugated pottery is very difficult to make
No Tony, the clay break when i try to make coils! I can't work at all...break to many pieces! I use a shieve 0,10 for the window you know. I did exactly what you did. I don't put any sand inside, just the clay.
@ need sand or grog crushed pottery, clay may not be plastic enough
Does the carbon smudging help seal the inside so the pots are less porous?
@@whiskeywookie2758 yes it is supposed to
Wonderful work!!
Excellent video! I learned so much and enjoyed seeing every step of your process. Thank you for sharing your talent and passion with us! ~~Christy~~
Tony, me siento muy agradecido por lo aprendido mediante tus videos . En poco rato he logrado tener una idea de como hacer mi propia arcilla, además de moldearle, cocinarle y decorarle. Muchas gracias. Un fuerte abrazo desde Uruguay
Se ven bonitas. Adelante con la tradición ancestral. Es el camino. Gracias
Excelente… Gracias Un fuerte abrazo
Belleza, gracias por compartir. Saludos cordiales para esas niñas…
Que genial ! Gracias
I don't know how I missed this video when it came out. Great tutorial.

well done, TY

Man those are amazing Mr Soares. Wow!
I was with my boyfriend in a park at one of their bbq grills and watched him fire his pipes in a coffee can kiln. I had never seen anything like that before. It was pretty amazing. Everything came out perfect and I have been interested in all the different methods of firing clay ever since. I am sure he would have taught me had I asked but sadly he died of a heart attack less than two years later. It was a great experience to witness and learn from him.
@@OraclesandEnchantments sorry for your loss. It is super easy to learn
Iam interesting in pottery
Can you use a large decorated Xmas popcorn can do make a charcoal kiln from. I love your videos. I m try ing to get caught up on them .I'm a late starter!!! Better late than never!!!
@@CynthiaMiller-bx4kd yes they work great
❤ EXCELLENT!!!
Thanks for the video. Can u do also fir lime and silica
@@FediFedi-v2m not sure
excellent and creative
Tony, my question is: Is the fluting of these Clovis points done as the last step to a completed point? Or are they or can be fluted and earlier and then finishing edge work done in the halfting areas? Thank for any information. Ralph Snyder 👍 😊
@@RSnyder-vx8li yes some can be fluted a bit earlier, but most have just a bit of retouch after fluting. This is a way a friend fluted and just wanted to bring it to light. I’ve seen a fella flute with a similar method since and looks more promising.
That's some refined technique. I imagine it takes a good balance of pressures to snap the blades off proper, even with the genius setup.
Didn't know you had a RUclips channel. See your points in the fb groups often.

This was awesome Tony! I remember making one with you long ago. Mine didn't look like these 😊
this is great 😎 thank you Mr.Tony! 🫡
Beautiful work! Thanks for sharing.excited to give it a try.
Hi, great video! just wanted to know if i start with moist clay, would i need to dry it out first, break it apart, then mix it with freshwater to make the solution? Thanks!
@@gracepea5798 other way depending on how clean your clay is
@@tonysoaresnativeclays1434 Sorry, not sure if I understand. So if its clean, then I can just mix the moist soil directly with water? and if its not clean, it would be better to dry and break apart and then mix with water? Thanks again!
@@gracepea5798 yes if mixing like this it must be totally dry first, then let soak. Try mixing in a 5 gallon bucket first before trying a cement mixer
@@gracepea5798 yes

❤ thanks 🌹
Great demo. Mil gracias.
Look how alive and responsive the clay is in Tony's hands.
It is a cool process. Sometimes I wonder how the process itself was discovered. I mean, was there a DaVinci of clay making, for example? How does one come across a method of screening materials out without modern mesh screens? At some point, someone must of figured out that you need to filter, filter, filter.
@@Nick-bh5bk pottery came from basket weaving cultures, baskets are a mesh 😀

I guess this is one way I could replicate the parabolic bottom found in many of the Anderson phase vessels dug up at Sunwatch Village archeological site in Dayton Ohio. These vessels were constructed with the paddle and anvil technique, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get the elongated parabola shape found on larger vessels found at the site.

Ohhhhh!!!! 💕❤️🥰
I would be interested in buying a few of these Paleo types of spear heads. If you have a site? My favorite are the Dalton points.

Wow! I'm so glad to find your videos. I took Pueblo Pottery classes from Bernadette Track in Taos. We were at the UNM campus there in 2008. I have wanted to try this method. Thank you so much!
The king of earthenware is back. 🎉 Can I request the making of a coffee cup from clay and sand to complete, without a wheel? I just need one simple and reliable cup that doesn't crack and the handle doesn't fall off.
@@----16 have you tried adding grog ?
I made one with only clay and sand and it surprisingly didn’t crack. I’m not sure if there was something else in it though
