You look very nice today!
@Giraffe4Lifer Thank you Giraffe:)
Me too😊
Thanks Giraffe😊
I love dogs
Poetry on wensday is awesome
This is so true!! I can do laps around the same bookshop for HOURS! I love it so much. I also have gotten sick of owning books myself, which is why I’ve been trying to only use my library LOL
So relatable
I love bookstores as well lol. Perhaps go to the library and check out your books so you can just return when done. :) Have a great day!
I also cannot resist "browsing" a bookshop! I can say my stack is much larger than yours unfortunately hahaha
good morning!
Good morning Gifaffe4lifer
You read alot of books!
Hi, l like reading and a lot of other arts. Thanks for the comment. 😊
@@emilycat1765 Ofcourse!
Big fan of Clive Cussler! You are correct that he had co-authors on many of his books. I didn’t mind it too much because I had grown fond of the characters and realized he was getting older and maybe needed a jumpstart with another writer. That was OKAY by me because like I said, I really liked the characters and as long as they stayed true to them I could live with the both the coauthor and Mr Cussler. I only remember reading one story that I felt I could have written or rather co -wrote better. Clive Cussler has been one of my favorite Authors since I discovered him in 1983. Keep reading him and I look forward to hearing your opinion about it in a future video.
Emily, thank you for your very lovely tribute to the MCO - you give us great encouragement to continue to perform beyond the centre of Melbourne.
My pleasure Fran. It was a wonderful concert and both my channel, and website, are all about suburban Arts.

I will definitely be reading this book!
Love it!
Thanks!!
great reading Emily cat!
Thank you.
Your reading is so great!
Thank you!
I love the Strike novels! I love a book that keeps me guessing and builds on characters. I always try to buy them on the day of publication as well. Good video!
I haven’t read any of Cussler’s books, but I have had similar thoughts to you about the books co-authored with James Patterson - how much does he write and how much do they write? It’s a potentially murky area of the publishing/marketing world. I’ve just subscribed to you. Looking forward to more of your videos ☺️. Keep up the good work.
I haven't read any of his books. But this was a good review and some interesting thoughts on co-authoring. Keep up the good videos!!!
Thank you😊
I like your glasses!
I love ducks! These videos are great
we love you emilycat 176!
Thank you😊
I just realized he was refrenced in one of my favourite songs by Lou Reed "My House"
Thanks for this. Delmore was an enigmatic and handsome young man with a tremendous depth of feeling and a keen sensitivity. Zen vibes in that room btw.
Wonderful review! I have read all of Jeri’s books and not one was a disappointment. Her research is thorough whatever period she is writing about. She also nearly always has a unique protagonist. Can’t wait for this one to come out.
Love the outfit today
Great reading!
I really like Odes. So Grecian
You're like a cool aunt
Learned how to do thumbnails!
I read poetry, depending on my mood. I’ve gone down Bertholt Brecht rabbit holes and also Sylvia Plath ones recently. With Sylvia Plath, I really enjoy listening to lectures about her and there are some good ones on Grisham College’s channel if you’re interested :)
Oops - it’s Gresham College
Thanks for your comment and the information. Will definitely look into it.
Thought-provoking video, thank you. I'm an English teacher and have very much enjoyed discussing poetry with students! There's definitely still some interest in it here in the UK, and it's mandatory on English Literature syllabuses until age 15-16. We could always spend more time on poetry and engage with it in different ways, but it's certainly not dying out yet! I'd point to Hollie McNish as an example of a fantastically talented and more accessible modern poet who is writing at the moment. Simon Armitage (poet laureate) is also great, and whatever your thoughts on Rupi Kaur, it's undeniable that her poetry gets a lot of attention.
I used to love doing close poetry reading in my English lit classes!
Thanks for your comment.
I’ve never understood or related to poetry. When I was young, I assumed that people who wrote poetry or claimed to love it were pretentious posers😊. As I matured, I realized that I was mistaken, and that, for some folks, poetry is a beautiful and concise method of describing situations, emotions and ideas. But your lament over the dearth of poets and poetry probably speaks to the fact that most people, like me, don’t relate to it.
There is usually a small shelf in bookstores in Germany dedicated to poetry. Most of the things are from older authors though. The Reclam publishing house releases small paperbacks with the classics of German and English poetry. The situation for printed plays is even worse. A rare sight... Dussmann, a multi-story bookshop in Berlin has the biggest section with poetry and plays that I am aware of. But if you ask me about any living poet... probably only Amanda Gorman, which left an impression on me, because I saw her in the inauguration of Biden. I also appreciate the works of Erich Fried and Said, but they are both gone. My brother is the only person that I know that reads poems as well, no one of my friends and other family members does.
I agree but are a lot of people still reading it?
Poetry is beautiful!
