Shout Factory and Scream Factory 4K Sale Pick-Up
I saw this on holiday in 1997 or 98 on Irish TV. For whatever reason, a memory of it triggered today. Thanks for the trip back to happier times :)
“You try too hard, winners forget they’re in a race because they love to run.” One of my favorite movies and I’m disappointed more people haven’t reviewed and reacted to it. The speech with the professor is Joe Pesci at his peak as an actor to me, even if he’s had bigger and better movies. This one truly shows his range.
Such a dark contrast as a 90’s kid, when you realize that Joseph Gordon Levitt was Roger in angels in the outfield. I like to imagine Hesher is Roger all grown up.
Nice haul! Mad at myself for not picking up To Die For and Dogfight. I’ll wait and grab them in November 😅
Very nice pick ups! First video i've seen picking up something that was Asian cinema too in there so my respects for that. Heroic Trio is such a fun unserious movie. But I love it for the epic cast. Anita, Maggie and Michelle all in one film. It's basically the iconic HK women stars being in this type of "super hero" setting. Can't speak for the sequel as I never got to watch that yet. Pretty sure it's the first time the two movies are on bluray let alone 4k so it's awesome to see. My personal pick ups: I finally grabbed the Godzilla set. Been meaning to get that so many times and always passed until now. Farewell My Concubine 4k (SUPER excited to watch that one!) A Touch of Zen Three Outlaw Samurai and then Mikey & Nicky which has Peter Falk. I really wanted Bound but 4k version was out of stock so imma have wait until November for that 😔
Cool Haul
Thanks for watching!
@@macatthemovies3612 Your welcome 🤗
Amazing first short
@@KolbyEditz thanks!
Thanks for sharing this! And those glasses look great!
Thanks for watching, and double thanks on the compliments!
Cool Unboxing
Thanks for watching!
I always forget to check out more Vinegar Syndrome titles, though I know for so many of my friends it's their first stop for movies.
I need to check them out more often, I don’t do it enough, and they have a lot of good to offer!
I used my points to get captain America civil war Blu-ray and it’s been 8 days and it still hasn’t come in my mail yet.
Hey, It seems as though it real hit or miss on when they send that stuff out, some times I get it quick and other times I have to wait, but hopefully your movies finally came in. The wait is always the worst. Thanks for watching and sharing!
#405 Hi New to Your Channel I'm a RUclipsr Too Fantastic Unboxing
Thanks for watching and subscribing, I subscribed back.
I wanted to bag "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" on BR soon as I got the announcement in February but I was too late. -_-
There was so much that I missed out on because it was all bought up so fast, and I am not sure, but it seemed as though a lot of it went up on eBay. Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching!
@@macatthemovies3612 If Disney doesn't fix this through Sony reissuing them I will sail those seas. Even the BR's were barebones so I am NOT playing the game on those prices on eBay. I think DMC had a real opportunity loss by not offering select BR movies on 4K that only got BR releases like "Tomorrowland". I was SO wanting to buy that on 4K. They could have done the same for "Sky High" and "Bridge To Terabithia" and many that had hit BR but were never issued on 4K again. I will NOT sign up for D+ as I am NOT playing the WEF game of own nothing be happy because you can bet Bob Iger owns all physical media and likely has his own media server. The video for streaming is inferior and the audio isn't even Lossless.
That's an incredible haul. You literally ordered Disney Plus in a box. I've been making small orders over $30 so I can get the free gifts and I've probably spent more than I wanted. Also The Cure is such an underrated gem from the 90's.
yeah, I missed out on a gift with one of my orders cause I thought they just threw in a mystery gift, but that wasn't the case. And I love the Cure, I rented that movie so much I should have owned it ten times over. lol Thanks for watching and sharing!
I had most of the films already but took advantage of the True lies Aliens discount with a few classics I needed. A true end of an era nice picks enjoy my friend
End of an era for sure! Thanks for watching and sharing!
I'll never forget the night I had to untangle The Love Bug!!
Great movie!! I totally remember the first time I watched it:) Most likely to young, but it is what it is!
I also prefer Alien over Aliens, but I do love Aliens, which shows how much I love Alien! More atmospheric, more psychological, more eerie, more unsettling, more disturbing, it wins for me! Loving your channel, and love the t-shirt!
Thanks for watching and sharing! I got the shirt from Fright Rags, you should check them out, they have a lot of fun stuff.
That’s a tremendous haul, I myself made 2 orders and lots of good movies, don’t feel any judgement on ordering, it’s your money and do what makes you happy and I’m like you I enjoy watching and buying movies 🍿 Very good video
I hope you got yourself a lot of good flicks too! Thanks for watching
Great additions. I wish I was a part of the club. All those classics in the yellow cases would be awesome to own. Too late to join now!
Yeah, it's a sad ending to a fun club. Thanks for watching
I got on ebay as soon as I heard the news and got blu-rays of Swiss Family Robinson, George of the Jungle, and Honey I Shrunk the Kids and Blew Up the Kid before they went up 2.5x in price. I'm sure some of these will eventually get released wide, but it could be a bit. Congrats on the bonus and haul.
I hope so but I think Iger is braindead so who knows.
Yeah, who knows maybe Mill Creek will release some of the titles, if memory serves they got some licensing rights. I get so grumpy when folks only buy to inflate the cost on eBay just to obtain some of these. Thanks for watching
Now to spend the next 2 weeks entering DMI codes, remember the limit is 5 a day, maybe you'll have enough to get a figurine!
I thought the linking would do it but I may need to do the code thing to stop these shenanigans.
oh yeah, it took me a couple weeks of pointing in codes 5 a day. lol Surprisingly enough I didn't have enough of a figure, but I did add some more movies to the collection with the codes. Thanks for watching
If you link your apple tv account to DMI it will link those codes, but there were still a lot of codes I had to type in daily, that was a daily tedium. lol
That's a great haul so no judgement here for any part of your bonus that went to it! :D
Thanks for watching Zippy!
Cool!
Thanks for watching!
not just a dark comedy dude, it's either a comedy or dark. there's quite a few dark parts. I really loved it but wish I would have known what I was getting into before I started watching it.
I had no clue what I was getting into, but I am glad I found it, I have shared it with so many people, and I am glad I did this video, because I have got to hear from so many people who have seen and loved this film. Thanks for watching and sharing!
Cool pickup, Mac! I have not yet picked up Umberto D. Would love to hear what you think of it. De Sica directed Bicycle Thieves which is an amazing film. Enjoy!
Hey James, I really enjoyed Umberto D, it had a similar vibe to Bicycle Thieves, a man being jerked around with his pension and having fallen on hard times, trying to do what he can to make the money he needs to pay his debts and keep the room he rents. I need to pick up Bicycle Thieves, I checked it out from the library years ago and enjoyed it! I would suggest having enjoyed Bicycle Thieves, that you should pick up Umberto D. Thanks for watching, I am always eager to see the videos you make and post!
Umberto D is such a moving film. The moment where he loses the trust of his dog is devastating.
That moment broke my heart, I couldn’t ever see myself doing something like that with my cats! Thanks for watching and sharing!
Bicycle thief is heartbreaking. One of best stories ever told. Hits harder if you have children.
I watched Umberto D and it has the same feels, but with a pet. It is very good, yet heartbreaking the same! Thanks for watching and for sharing!
I am also not a fan of that shipping method. I like how you restrained yourself to just 1 pick up. I haven't seen that film. I've still got many Criterions to catch up on and several that I'm curious about have been streaming on Max for a while.
There were a few I thought about, but told myself I haven’t been watching what I do have, so that kept me to just one. I also have a bunch in my wishlist for the Disney Movie Club, so I know I am going to blow a lot on that now that they are shutting that service down. Thanks for watching and for sharing!
Watch the making of the movie. It’s wild. The actors went through hell.
I’ll have to check that out, I love special features, so that’ll be nice to dig into! Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching!
I'm also a physical media collector that has a tuxie cat!! We'd be friends in real life for sure.
You can never go wrong with cats and movies, unless it’s the movie CATS, lol. Thanks for watching! 😀
Action has been my #1 genre since seeing Terminator 2 at 7 years old. I've only seen True Lies twice. I love Aliens. I'll be waiting for reviews for the trio of Cameron 4Ks before I decide on getting them.
I love T2, there are a few action flicks I like, but the majority of them I pass on unless recommended. I do love me some horror though! I agree with holding off on the 4Ks, I usually wait until the reviews flow in before picking them up, I have blind bough a couple and have been lucky so far, but it seems to be hit or miss with some of the reviews. Thanks for watching and thanks for sharing!
This movie was the first thing to make me laugh after my mother blew her brains out. And yes, I had a Hesher boyfriend in high school. This is a very dark humor film, and the ending for me was cathartic... laughing and crying, wishing it wasn't over. I also love the first four Metallica albums and Motorhead, so A+ on the music. If you like Harold and Maude, this is similar, but way more swearing, explosives, rude conversations, and some of the ugliest furniture and housing on Earth. But hell yeah .Cliff Burton's birthday is February 10th. Watch it to celebrate CLIFF. And blow some shit up.
I'm sorry to hear about your mom, that must've sucked, but I agree dark comedies like Hesher have a way of pulling light out of the dark while also making think. I also agree, the soundtrack is killer, I've seen Metallica a few times, and saw Motorhead front row, which was awesome, so this soundtrack was a very welcome addition to the film! I had a coworker years ago who told me the only time he ever saw Metallica was with Cliff in the band, which is crazy rare to hear from anybody, especially now that Rob has been the longest running bass player in the band. I have seen Harold and Maude, I have it on DVD, looking to eventually upgrade it, but I also got to see a 35mm print as a midnight movie years ago, which was pretty awesome! Thanks for sharing your story, and thanks for watching, I will also have to make an effort to rewatch it on Cliff's B-day!
Daytrippers is a fav early indie film!! Good score!!
Such a great flick!
First time finding you. B&N from what I understand have excellent customer service. Already have the Carlito’s Way 4K Steelbook. Don’t know what extra features it has. Also Have the WARRIORS Blu Ray steelbook. I would be interested in what quality differences there are and extra features. True Romance is an awesome Quentin Tarantino written film. He sold the writes to be able to make Reservoir Dogs. Coming home in a body bag was/is a fictional movie yet to be done
Their customer service was easy to work with, but I did get passed from counter to counter, other than that it was great! I am going to have to rebuy Carlito's Way as they did not have it available anymore when I went to trade it in, not even to order from the warehouse, not at that time anyway. I knew about TR and RD, I love both movies, and I got to see RD in 35mm film at a midnight screening a few years ago, that was really nice! I love the Warriors, I had just seen it in the theater at a midnight screening, so it was nice to get the 4K and see it presented in it's new restoration. I have not sen Coming Home in a Body Bag yet, so I will have to check that one out. Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching!
i just got mona lisa, daytrippers, and something wild for christmas lol. thats crazy. Hoop Dreams is great!
Great picks, and sounds like an even better Christmas! I haven’t gotten around to mona lisa yet, but in due time! Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching!
@@macatthemovies3612 everything in time! Keep up the videos
You nabbed some excellent booty!😺
Awesome!!! 👍
I need to pick up Warriors, its a surprise the first time you watch it. And @dvdwalker8 point, I need to pick up Waterworks, it has such nostalgia for me
Nice pick ups. I didn't get anything this sale. I have all 3 that you got. Watched Warriors a couple weeks ago and it looks great. Carlito's Way is great. If you like it, check out Donnie Brasco for another great Pacino gangster movie. RoboCop and Waterworld are also nice from Arrow.
I forgot about Waterworld, I haven’t seen that one in ages, I’ll have to check it out. I have the 4k of Robocop on my wishlist, I know I don’t have a chance on the deluxe version, but I’d like to pick up the flick! Thanks for sharing and for checking out my video!
Thanks! I’ll add to watchlist👍
The first time I saw this, I remember thinking: "Maybe they should just leave Rambo alone?" Great review!
Same, there was so much destruction, just let the man have a sandwich and move on.
The lion king
Such a great film, thanks for sharing and watching!
I’ve only watched one Rambo movie… I think he was in Vietnam or something. Thanks and happy holidays!!🙏
I think that’s a later one, but I don’t think it’s one of those movies that the previous films are necessary for the story! Thanks for watching and sharing, and Happy Holidays to you too!
My fav is jack sparrow character movies
That’s a fun pick for sure, thanks for sharing!
Congratulations!! 🎉
Congratulations
I didn’t win but congrats on Sarah🎉 Thanks 🙏
Thanks for doing the giveaway.
Thanks for watching and joining in on the fun, hopefully I’ll have another give away in the not so distant future, but time and budget will tell. 😀
Yay!! 😊 sent you a dm on Instagram. Thank you so much!! 🎉
Great, I’ll look for it! Congrats and thanks for watching!!! 🎉
