It seems that behavioral economics has been picked up by corporations and business full heartedly but whenever there is talk of governments and institutions putting into practice in behavioral nudges into practice on climate change there is an outcry of government overreach. Why think about resilience instead of transformation? Why think about adaptation of harmful industries which support the resilience of the existing economy when we need to transform these industries. Evolution theory combined with complexity can bring a framework of emergence and radical change development needed to face climate change, biodiversity loss, social injustice and all types of inequalities. Focusing on resilience and adaptation might lock us in the existing trajectory, which might not stop the temperature rise.
