Can you use grill in the rain? And do you keep flame open or closed during the first burn.
Hello! Thank you for watching my video and commenting! I really appreciate it! As to your question, no I personally don’t smoke in the rain. My buddy does but he has an enclosure that protects the smoker from getting wet. I do not have that. I used to remove all the pellets out of the hopper and the auger but I also have since stopped doing that because I frequently check the pellets and they are completely dry. I do HIGHLY Recommend getting the pit boss cover. They are made extremely well and they are thick material. I believe that I did my initial burn in with the sear option in the closed position. I hope this helps. PA
Thank you sir, very informative for a new reloader.
Thank you for watching my video and commenting! I really appreciate it! I am so glad that the video helped you. That’s why I make them just so hopefully I can share what I learned with others like yourself. PA
@TomStuart-if2xi what are you starting to reload? I have several videos on RUclips that get into reloading. I think that it is good information. Just checkout the other videos on my channel. You might find more helpful information. Thanks again. PA
@ Bought a simple Lee Loader in .38 Special, probably going to go with 148 grain wadcutters to start with.
would you recommended this 850 for a starter getting his first one? they are about 399 as of right now when im shopping for one. if not ur top one you think? which others are good buys
Thank you for watching my video and commenting! I really appreciate it! Well as far as the smoker goes, It really depends on the size of your family who you will be cooking for. I have a family of five and it is plenty big enough. $399 is a steal! I wanted mine for the summer so I paid$ 550 the 1150 is really nice but it was too big for me. The other thing is Pitt boss uses 14 gauge steel which is thicker then the trager. Also it has a great front shelf, side shelf and storage on the bottom of the smoker. I might be repeating myself if you watched the video. You can feel the quality of the smoker just by opening the door and feeling the weight. I don’t really use the top shelf at all. At least not yet. The grates are super easy to clean. I use a brush that you dip in ice water and it basically steam cleans your grates. I also remove the main grates and baffles and vacuum out the fire box about every 10 to 15 hours of smoking. It really is easy to do. Takes about 10 minutes. All in all I did a lot of researcher before I bought it and it was built way better than anything else I saw. Do NOT get one from Walmart. There junk. Stick with Lowe’s. I don’t know how handy you are but I wanted to build mine. That way I knew everything was going together the right way. I can also smoke 4 or 5 chickens on it and 3 to 4 7 lb pork butts. For me there is plenty of room for my family. I really hope this helps. Also buy the actual pit boss cover. Its made extremely well. What are they asking for the 1150? With the 1150 you will going to go through a lot more pellets to heat up the size of the chamber. I did a 10 lb pork butt and it took 14 hours, but I only used around 10 or 11 ponds of pellets. Hope this helps and I am sorry my msg was so long. Good luck! PA
I got the 399 special too easy to cook grill and smoke
@allmotorhash awesome!! You’re really going to like it. At the end of summer BJs had the pit boss competition blend pellets on sale for $6.95 for a 40 pound bag!! I bought 600 pounds! Lol. Are you going to build it or did they assemble it? Let me know what you’re making. I almost always set my temps at 250. And then wrap in butchers paper to get through the stall. Really happy for you! You got a really sweet deal! PA
@allmotorhash hello and happy Thanksgiving!! Just picked up a free bone in pork butt with my shoprite points!! Can't wait to get it on the smoker.
@@pareloader5989 it is great, real wood 🪵 for smoking is so much more expensive than a $8 dollar bag of pellets. I spent so much money in clean dry wood.
Thank you for these videos of your 850 man! I just got a black friday deal on the same grill and it's coming in tomorrow. I'm super excited to smoke some ribs and pulled pork on this thing!
Thank you so much for watching my video and commenting!! I really appreciate it!! Yeah it’s a great smoker. I highly recommend getting the actual cover from Lowe’s for it. The one that says pit boss. It’s made extremely well. I know that it’s a little pricey but it’s quality. I have done ribs using the 321 method. Beef ribs also. I also recommend taking the membrane off the ribs. I also did a bone In pork butt..came out so good. Next is a brisket. When I did the pork butt I smoked it in a foil pan. It caught all the juices and then after the pork butt was done and shredded, I poured the juice over the meat and mixed it in. Anyway RUclips is full of smoking methods. I am really happy for you. it’s a b@d ass looking smoker? You are going to love it. Oh also it may just my OCD , but if I am not going to smoke for a while, I take all of the pellets out of the hopper and the auger. It’s probably not necessary but I do it. Take care and have a great holiday season!! If you have any more questions feel free to hit me up! Thanks again! PA
@pareloader5989 thank you for the tips! You earned a subscriber! Happy holidays!
@@pewcfpv8056 thank you sir!! Especially for the sub! There will be more smoking videos coming soon. Take care and happy holidays! PA
@@pewcfpv8056 hello again! I am not sure but did you see the video that I posted about the review and features that the pit boss 850 has to offer? If not , that video will definitely help you out. You can just research my whole channel and watch what you want. PA
@pareloader5989 yes I watched that one first actually.
We have a rack of the m18 fuel line of tools at my curret trade and at my last facility, (industrial maintenance) they perform great and batterys last adequately, one dien side is these keyless chuck on drill motors, they suck and its also on other major brands, may i suggest the Diablo blades for the sawzall, it eats through steel quick ...great vid
Thank you for watching my video and commenting! I really appreciate it! I will try the Diablo blade. Thank you for the information.PA
I have a 12 gauge over and under Yildiz shotgun. I can’t figure out the outer dimension of the lower barrel so I could put a split swivel on that barrel and order it from uncle Mike’s. Would you know which one I need to buy that would fit? Thanks.
Thank you so much for watching my video and commenting!! Really appreciate it. Let me get back to you with your question. PA
@@pareloader5989 That would be great thanks
I also have an over/under. The barrels are braised together so I am a little confused as to how you would use an uncle mikes buy just attaching it to the bottom barrel?
@@pareloader5989 They sell a split connector that goes on each side and then there’s a set screw to tighten it. You need to know the exact outer dimension of that lower barrel where you’re going to be placing it.
@nick32141 okay so now I understand. Well my suggestion if I were putting a swivel on my O/U, I would get a pair of dial calipers and measure the outer diameter of the lower barrel. That’s going to be the most accurate way to measure it. Harbor freight sells them for like $10 bucks. Hope this helps. PA
Tk you, bought one from watching this.100% worth it!!

I just purchased one on FB. I wanted to learn more about it and ur video was perfect! When I first opened the case I felt duped. I felt gypped because I was unaware that it was the tiny one. It looks like a toy my toddler would play with. Lo and behold you put my concerns to rest. Thank you!

also the chimmney open up more to get more smoke into the butt i usually do 2 to 3 inches
Thank you! Will definitely try that! PA
i have suggestion i do ace muy butt in a tray as well i would recommend that you use a small Tray instead of the big one your useing i also have a small grate inside the aluumun tray to le the smoke billow under the butt to get the smoke surround the butt i rest min for at least 3 hours wrapped
Thanks for watching my video and commenting! I really appreciate it! I will try opening the smoke stack to what you said. The tray under the pan is a great idea! Where did you buy it? Please let me know. Thanks agar for your ideas! PA oh! Thank you for subscribing!!!

Nice information on Lee dies. I Love them for the value as well..
Thank you so much for watching my video and commenting! I really appreciate it! Yes I really like my LEE dies. Let me know how you make out. I always like talking about the reloading hobby. Take care and stay safe! PA
Good morning. Do you size the bullets before or after powder coating the bullets? I do it before and after. Is that necessary? Thanks.
Hello! Thank you for watching my video and commenting! Really Appreciate it. I do the exact same thing you do. When I am reloading I run them through the sizing die one more time. I get better results when I check them in my sizing die after the round is completed. Hope this helps! Take care and stay safe! PA

@@chrisboyne4954 your more than welcome . I am so glad that it was helpful. I just made a 10 lbs pork butt on it using the pit boss competition blend. I just tried mine out for the first time and the handles were piping hot and burned my had when I grabbed the handle. Had to buy a little pad to use when grabbing them after boiling water (had them away from side when heating up). And disappointed there is no way to turn the cap to seal in the coffee. Turning the opening part to the side just makes a smaller opening for the coffee to come out. I like the product but disappointed in these two things

Hi! does anybody know the exact weight of this triggergard + trigger?
Hello. Thanks for watching my video and commenting on it! I really appreciate it. I am not sure of the exact trigger pull weight but it’s definitely much smoother and feels less pull than the stock plastic one. I would highly recommend it if you’re looking for an upgrade. The polymer ones will eventually crack. Hope this helps. PA
I’ve had RCBS, Redding, and Hornady dies and between Hornady and Lee dies I think I’m good to go. All of my Redding and RCBS dies have rust and have not been very durable, as well as caused many stuck cases even with proper amounts of lube. Lee pistol dies are awesome and I would not hesitate to get their rifle dies to try out for the price.
Thank you for watching my video and commenting! I really appreciate it! Yes I just never saw the reason to go with the more expensive dies when the LEEs work just fine. Also they were in my budget. I reload 556 and 30 30 and have no problems. I deer hunt with 30 30 and I can really fine tune each round. I also get very consistent groups with the rounds that I load. I haven’t reloaded in awhile due to primers being so expensive. I had a local gun shop near me, really small little place but packed to the hilt. Unfortunately the owner passed away and they shut down shop. Now I’m stuck with cabelas. Anyway thanks again for watching. PA

looks like its already been fitted to the stock in this video? any footage of it be fitted to the stock? the sanding process? did you use a jig?
Thanks for watching and commenting on my video. I did not use a jig. I traced out the end of the stock where I made my cut. Then I used a disc sander to grind the aluminum butt plate. It was a very messy job and didn’t want my camera equipment to get aluminum dust all over it. If you have the tools you can do it yourself. Not really hard just time consuming and a lot of fitting as you go. Hope this helps. PA
Much needed information for me. Thanks PA.
Thanks craig! Have a great day and thanks
