Hi, I’m Sarine
Welcome to Almost Farming! I'm a wife & mother of three from Sydney with a Syrian Armenian background. I have always had a passion for cooking wholesome, hearty meals for my family. Dolma sarma - stuffed vegetables
Stuffed vegetables (aka Dolma/sarma) was one of the first dishes I practiced making/learning when I got married.
My mum always made it with silverbeet and my girls absolutely love it 😊
You can add garlic yogurt sauce on top and enjoy that way or just plain.
I’ve used 1 kilo mince in my video, i like to make a big batch for leftovers and for the girls to take to school.
If you like you can double the recipe 😋
Rice filling
1 & 1/2 cups of medium grain rice
500g mince beef (if it’s too lean it will be dry)
1 x 400g can tomatoes
1tbls tomato paste
4 cloves garlic
1&1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp seven spice
1 juice of lemon
Mix all ingredients above in a bowl. Core all your vegetables and stuff them with rice ...

Finally I got the chance to put together our “annual” Easter camping trip with THE family!!! This is our second year, we are getting better at this each time!! This is not an easy thing (set up/pack up), however, very rewarding - especially watching our kids make memories :) I wanted to share our setup with 3 kids and the food that we ate. Yes, yes, I know…it’s more of a glamping experience (es...

Cauliflower Roast for your next dinner table!!! As much as it’s nice while it’s hot I also love eating it cold in a sandwich. This will last for a week (or more) in your fridge. You can make tahini in advance also marinade the cauliflower in advance and store them both in the fridge until it’s time to bake. Note: Tahini will thicken in the fridge, you may need to add more water or lemon ( or bo...

Easter Cookies Klechah (kleecha) Syrian Armenian كليجه

This Recipe I'm sharing is Traditional Syrian Easter Cookies over 100 years old. I grew up watching my great grandma making it every year with the help of her tow daughters ( my grandma and her sister), mum used to take us over so she could help out. the original recipe is 6 kilos of flour, I tried to weigh everything and make it easier with grams rather than cups. if you have any questions reg...
I'm gonna try this
It was so moist and next day still fluffy
Tea time is extra special when it’s easy to put together! I love trying new cake recipes, and this French 🇫🇷 yogurt cake is one I recently tried - it’s super simple and the perfect tea cake. Between homework and a little break, I love sitting down to chat with my girls. On the weeks I manage to stay organized (trying to keep that up!), we enjoy treats like this. Here’s the recipe for you: Wet Ingredients: • 3 large eggs • 125g plain yogurt • 200g caster sugar • 1/2 cup oil (I used avocado oil) • 1 tsp vanilla • Zest of 1 whole lemon or orange (I used orange) Dry Ingredients: • 180g plain flour • 2 tsp baking powder Instructions: Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Mix all the wet ingredients well, then sift in the flour and baking powder. Fold gently (don’t over-mix!). Bake for 30-40 mins, until a skewer comes out clean. Enjoy!
Ingredient measurements not important? How much of each did you pour in, you specified 60 to 70 grams per cookie but not measurements of the main ingredients, Strange.
I’m drooling as I watch. Thank you for sharing the recipe and taking the time to make this video for us who need it!! 😅
