I found another version of this from google where the buttermilk and hot sauce are used as a marinade. It didn't use the ranch though or the corn starch. I assume you are using the buttermilk as a dip prior to breading. Side note. I hate the fact that churches chicken bought Ron's just to bury the recipe for all of humanity to never enjoy. That should be a crime that don't even know they are missing out on. Two foods in this world have I ever enjoyed. Ron's chicken and a steak from the Alamo in Pigeon Forge. I have been on a 10 year quest to master this recipe. I even reached out to the family that owns Ron's home style foods if they could tell me about the recipe and I was told sorry no can do.
