Forgot that I'd made this:) This was within the first hour of us buying our boat. Just a quick inside tour.

Jay and Rob on 'Size' the Nautical Escape's 22 ft Abbott in a 15 to 20 knot wind, and waves less than 1 metre. A bumpier ride than we expected, but lots of fun.
Dinner with Lucy

Our Ball Python, "Lucy" having dinner. Before anyone asks: - She is a 20 year old (our best estimate)Ball Python. We have had her for the last 11 years, and a friend had her for 7 years before that and she was full grown when he got her. Therefore the 20 year estimate. -Yes, we have tried her on pre-killed, and she WILL NOT eat it. Once she was bitten by a rat and didn't eat for over 6 months, ...

Unloading a container in 30 seconds

How to unload 18,000kgs of extrusion from a sea container in 30 seconds. For licensing/commercial usage, please contact licensing@rumble.com.
Hi! My partner and I just purchased a '96 Mauritius Steel hull. We would love to see your progress on the interior! Not many of them out there for inspiration.:)
Not hard when they make it like that.
So there is no special equipment needed for unloading the extrusions - Just a forklift? Everyone is telling me I need a "Rigger" and I don't understand why.
I used to have to do this in a carpark and make two 90degree turns to slide the rack into the tiny warehouse. Good times.
Any updates? Wondering if all the wood and wood trimming is softwood?
Hi David, All the wood inside is knotty pine. Any of the new wood I've been putting in is cherry. Since buying the boat we've torn out all the floors, the saloon, head, and aft cabiin right back to the hull, and rebuilt them. Not to mention all new wiring, and plumbing throughout. Also rebuilt the transmission, replaced the starter, and a myriad of other mechanical upgrades, and rebuilds. There have been TONS of updates, but alas, not too many as of late. We've been working every spare minute on the refit. The entire boat has been redone to one extent or the other. Last summer we were 'on the hard' for 10 weeks working on the hull, masts, and electronics. If you'd like to see how far we've got, go to the Goshawk RUclips channel. ruclips.net/user/GoshawkKetchvideos As I've said, we haven't been doing any videos as of late, but in the next month or so, we've got lots of stuff to post on this summer's progress. As they say... Stay tuned:)
Thanks for the update.. The last new boat project I worked on years ago was all teak, mahogany detailing and marine ply. I'm wondering if building a Roberts NYC 60ft from scratch more or less work. OBTW Ive designed and built cars, buses, boats (upto 56ft) and aircraft so Im got skills but no money. So Im considering on a build two for one idea.
I'd like to see what it takes to load last skid..
son of a bitch!
+rapid wtf?
Nope, not living aboard yet. The plan is to move in late this summer after the bulk of the interior strip, rust control, insulate, and rebuild is done. We've got a busy summer ahead!
Are you guys living aboard on that boat? I feel for ya, I spent 7 years rebuilding a steelie. It was less than fun.
ALL ABOARD THE CARDBOARD TRAIN!
Just looked at the boat, she is BEAUTIFUL. Wow. If the fiberglass is good, and the engine is, you've got a keeper. Note, if you have to pull the engine, the cockpit will have to come right out. Big job. Also, most Bruce Roberts were home built. This one looks amazing, but do your research on the actual builder. Good Luck.
Hi, Why did we go with this boat. Good question;) Well, we started off making a list of needs, wants, and don't needs, and don't wants. Once we started filtering down the list of boats in our price range, it became a pretty small list. In the end we just got lucky and found our boat less than 100 miles from home. As for finding online information, the only one that's really helped is the Bruce Roberts website. Find the model you are looking for and drill down a bit. Some decent stuff.
Hello, We are looking at a boat similar to this and we wanted to know why you went with this boat. All the research we've been doing have not let us anywhere. How much did you buy yours? This one is a "1989 Bruce Roberts Ketch ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL 44' KETCH RIG SAILBOAT" It's on ebay and is listed at $65,000 and is located in Hawaii. Your input would greatly be appreciated.
For anyone who may be interested. It is now March of 2012 and Lucy is still alive and kicking... Figuratively speaking that is...
@warren8990 lucy is 64" long
@melektawus you're 100% right! 30 seconds it takes only to raise the backdoor and complain about the shitload of work its gonna take... 15-25 minutes to fully unload that load... but to be fair maybe he was referring the actual time it took for him to start pressing the gas when he was already with the load and in reverse. But it does give a wrong impression.
That was me after xmas lunch
Actually it probably took... maybe 25 minutes. Remove airbags, remove the boards nailed into the floor to stop it from rolling, and hooking up the chains. But 30 seconds does cover the time it is moving. If I come up long still, let me know and I'll speed up the video a bit(:
um.. is it me or did that take 48 seconds to unload !?!
dam that is a strong forklift
Tasteless, but funny.
I was kind of expecting a caboose at the end
w0w
oneHTVontheroad 8
sometimes, they do use a cord, a 9 foot cord.
truely amazing creatures
6 feet most i have i two
I got a female ball...shes probably..around 4 foot or so..how big length wise do they average out at?
many small wheels under the frames
i don't know. I'm really not familiar enough with Corn Snakes, but I can tell you this, if she wraps around my wrist and I let her dangle down so she has to hold on, she can cut off the circulation to my hand. And this is just a grip, not a full constriction.
64". I agree, the bedding has caused issues in the past, but mostly when its fresh. After its packed down, it doesn't seem to be an issue. As I have mentioned, She is a very picky eater, and will not eat unless its under her own conditions, and sorry to say, part of her way of doing things is she refuses to eat anywhere else, or in any other way. She is an old girl, and needs to get her way:) But agreed, if it can be avoided feed em without the bedding.
Just measured her. She is 64" long.
Thanks, I don't know the gallon size. I custom made the tank by building it into an old coffee table. The dimensions are 52" long x 16" deep x 16 high. With 2 florescent bulbs, and a heat pad under a rock slab in the corner.
She is a very picky eater. She does prefer light coloured rats rather than black, although she will eat them if she is hungry enough. She wouldn't eat rats at all for 3 or 4 years. She was bitten by a rat, and didn't eat anything at all for almost 8 months! In the end with the advice of a breeder, I started feeding her Gerbils, and eventually could return to rats.
if the video title was "Unloading a container in 35 seconds" a few less people would click the link and besides, the unloading started 0:05 seconds into the video, if you count from when the first box leaves the container
what? The unload took 35 seconds, whats that got to do with being a "common" number when the video is 47 seconds?
35 is not common number and cannot be use on a video
That actually took 35 seconds not 30.
Actually thats really what is going on. Every 10 feet or so there are a pair of 1 1/2 " pieces of round bar welded to the frame, and they are sleeved with 2" steel pipe, therefore making rudimentary rollers.
nice.....scratches in the floor......ever hear about rolling pipes?
Oh my god! It just kept on coming!
18 years it said in the description not 18 foot
wow!!
wtf is it that powerful o.o
Actually the way it was presented to me many years ago is that the "year and a day" union is the 'handfasting'. The hands were bound but not tied. Once the permanent 'Marriage' was performed the cord was bound around the hands again, but this time the 'Knot was tied' to represent the permanent union.
You know how people talk about 'tying the knot'? What if, for a handfasting, someone actualy did just that? Two people have a length of cord, or string,, and they tie them together
and that rat was such a great guy--so much going for him--then BAM--down the hatch! Sweet
lucy reminded me of jean chretien when her mouth was like sidways at the begining
Wicked. I Wish I could do the same with container full of rice...
yeah i was aware they only get as big as a corn snake in length but the diameter of a ball python is much bigger making it a much larger snake. and i know what its like to have a too curious dog or cat in the house i can enver bring any of my pets downstairs because of the family dogs
