I'm 27 years old and I'm showing symptoms. Eric, my friend, you've had a family and good times. I didn't even have that. It's a nightmare to know that my life of depression and loneliness is going to end in a horrible way. but it's real. Anyway. This disease is actually quite common. Why don't they spend enough money on research? If they spent a fraction of the money they spend on wars and luxuries, maybe a cure would have been found by now. For those of you reading this comment, please spread the word about this disease. Believe me, your whole life can change when you least expect it. You can draw the short straw at any time. It's just a matter of probability.

it's really strange but most of cases of ALS have people who were doing the sport on higher level, especially football, gym and rugby, it cannot be just coincidence... the trauma of muscles experiencing countless times can be a high risk for ALS in young people.

Remember our past president Donald Trump passed the “Right to Try” which allows people, especially with potentially fatal disease, is the right to try medicines that show potential to cure the person from the disease or prolong their lives. It’s called the Right to try. I don’t know if the current Biden administration stopped that program, but reach out to the Trump team and see if you can get some support. God bless you don’t stop praying and maybe work with a functional medicine doctor to see if you have any environmental issues like heavy metals that chelation could help. Also, if you got this during Covid, maybe a Covid detox could help.

Als is horrible my mother had bulber als died with in a 1 year after being diagnosed…. it was horrible because there’s nothing nobody can do to watch and see a loved one just go through. My friend got this terrible affliction and died after he (and many others) got a vaccine for Lyme Disease. He was young, strong and had a great family that survived him. He was a hunter so thought it a good idea. He trusted his doctor. They pulled the drug. Families got no money- only the lawyers. So cruel.

Sorry, im having thigh weakness now myself.

My brother passed away 7 years ago with ALS

Lost my uncle in 18 and my brother in 22 to als. Horribe disease.

My heart is with you both as you travel this uncharted road I traveled with my dear husband.

As an RN for 30 years, he is right, they have great meds for HIV and cancer, and have some for ALS but restrict patients from having access to it. Something is wrong with the system here. This disease is a death sentence in less than 5 years after diagnosis. Something has to change.
