The pet thing I get, on the other points, it could be confused with an over protective mother, who suffers/ed with her own childhood issues. Over sharing her love, protection, obsession with you or your sibling to be top achievers, to help and instill some kind of dedicated discipline to finish that college degree, cause she knows, it's assisting you on a road to a certain kind of success, she never experienced, and recognized ( from her own life experience) how much easier those qualifications get you the job you excell in, respected by your peers and colleagues IF you play by the rules, instill a sense of self confidence to keep your head focussed on the stable things in life, and for you to cope with the new generation born from you. I know, believe me I KNOW,...if you sensitive, and you born from a mother that really got struck a huge constantly bleeding nose, thrown by the life she had to endure during her life, she made up her mind, (reminding you since you can recall) my kids are not going down the same road as I did. O boy, it's tough...she used a saying 'It's cruel to be kind', yes OFTEN, waisted money for years on therapy, every bloody therapist agreed with, how messed up that was, right?? 55 now, and for the first time, she's gone 14 years now, I truly- truly realize how much she actually did care, and loved us. I couldn't see, or understand she was so busy fighting a war within herself, and a war against the world to protect us, keeping us on that 'safe road' brainwashed, afraid ,focussed. So yes...my experience "love can be extremely cruel, to be kind".....All the best with your journey. x

Why would you undermine this maker of good movie about Narc mothers, by stating it can be also something else? You find similairities in your experience with your mother, wich can be so. I find the statement undermine the movie maker by how this is placed in first sentence. By wich i'm not meaning to downgrade your experience.

@@bouncereightyone9337 No malice intended, maybe I misunderstood, I needed to find clarity for so long in my own capacity, why, how etc. I suppose even understanding why she was the way she was, my mom. In the end I really could relate to her childhood(my moms) what she deemed right and normal My point, forgiveness and understanding, got me to a point now in my life, where I can recall loving incidents now, that I forgot, stewing in my anger for so long , I was always sooo aware of her being mean, strict, emotionally cold, extreme discipline over many years. And my fear toward her, till late in my life. As I said, I'm 55 now, in 1987 I was asked to go to what you call 'the prom' by a boy. I just assumed my mom would say no, she was a single earner at that point,(my mom) and the mother of the boy called my mom at work, to ask my mom after I said no...long story short, my mom received her salary on the 25th, and the prom was on the 27th, she did agree to his mom by phone, but didn't say a word, until the morning of the 25th, she woke me and said you not going to school today, she took me to a store in her hometown called Shirley's that day, I forgot this, due to all this anger I carried all these years. She spent our apartments rent for that month, on a pink dress, and shoes for that prom, I thought was not going to happen 2 days before the time. If I could find a understanding, why my mom was the way she was, this lady should try. Being cruel to animals, yes that was never my mom,we never ever owned pets.To this lady on the ytube video, please, I am sorry if I hurt, or displayed my experience, as a success story in "overcoming a bad relationship with my mom" I meant no disrespect, or obnoxious behaviour.

Mindfulness is especially helpful for us on the spectrum because many of us are wired in ways that can often dampen the "mind-body connection." This is why practices like Yoga are also particularly effective for us. Meditation may be harder to start learning for us, but I do believe the rewards are greater. This might seem 'hyperbolic,' but denying an autistic person of having personal alone time is--in my opinion--bordering on psychological abuse. It cannot be emphasized enough just how important this opportunity really is for us to, as you put it, recharge. I also appreciate that you encourage folks to connect with a "higher power within," as this is applicable regardless of one's spiritual beliefs and simultaneously refrains from robbing away someone's personal agency by trying to falsely convince them that they are powerless without an *externalized* higher power.

Do you practice Mindfulness techniques in general? Deep breathing and breath control are the foundations of learning basic meditation. I've actually never heard the "hand on the stomach" tip before, but it makes sense given the context of autism, as it would allow us a more visceral and tactile connection from the mind to the physical body. Also, although you sound like someone who probably already knows about this, what you're describing here is a good starting point for mind-body scans.

@@dinieldelaware The day you think you've skill-capped on being mindful and aware is the day you know you've lost it. People sometimes characterize autism as a sort of perpetual childhood; but if it weren't for the infantalization from others and the outside, maybe it would just feel more like always having room for growth and an instinct towards honesty that keeps you from deluding yourself into ever thinking you're finished mentally developing. In general, would you say making these videos is therapeutic for you regardless of viewership levels? Would you feel it weird or out of place if a therapist with whom you had first established some baseline level of mutual trust encouraged you to "make content" that you would be simultaneously willing to share with your therapist and whomever has access to your chosen medium, in this case your youtube channel? (Entirely hypothetical situation and your answer won't have any material effect on anything. I am in the long and arduous process of eventually becoming a therapist who works with our population, so I'm always asking people whose opinions are worth listening to their take on stuff)

Diniel you have a very unique way of jogging my memory when it comes to viewing and retaining your content. I must say that throughout the test of time i have had these moments of remembering positive and negative past experiences. As far back as my mind will let my thoughts travel, i let it be known that all this time gone by has a story behind it with friendships that came and went. I have been connecting the dots and figuring out why all has changed so much as the years roll on. It all makes more sense now, and i can believe it for what it is. I guess the cringy moments were meant to happen and laugh em off later in life. I have started to reflect on my youth when i had not known what it was that made me who i am today. Great job on the Brown thumb to Green thumb comparison; it actually answers my curiosity for desert gardening without a long video explanation. Last year I was invited by a family friend to prepare the ground for a raised-bed garden at a mobile home park where digging is limited by the owner. I'm out east where the soils are mostly ideal for only a season or two. Over the last decade I've been most curious about finding a new beginning in a stable year-round climate. Back in 2013 a guy me and our family knew well who's father started an egg farm in the 50's, but then slowed to a hault in the 90's. He went on to tell me about his cross-country road trip with a friend that year and said he was going again in 2014 with someone else and mentioned continuously about the great beauty and landscapes of passing through numerous places in Arizona. From then on it did not click with me until a few years later that he came back after that second trip and saw him clad in a whole new daily attire he would never had worn any years before. From head to toe was a classic black cowboy hat, solid black button-down long-sleeve dress shirt, perfect fitted boot cut denim with "the boots". There is something that just makes more sense now that I realize he got inspired by the wild west, which I never gave to much thought previously. I was so confused back then after a life changing situation occurred in my life the year before in 2012, not the best outcome but could have been much worse. I was invited on another one his road trips going into 2015 but was distracted and mentally confused and unwell and I had to decline the offer. I'm sure if I pushed through the clouds in my head the Arizona sunshine and perfect weather would have saved me from myself, I still feel regrets. I will say this as the last 5 to 10 years have now passed, that Arizona inspiration has really set in for me spending time figuring out how to transplant to the big beautiful state. I try to inspire the rest of my family to move on to dry lands and imagine a simple new lifestyle out in the desert, but they don't have spark in them. I've told them many times that this four seasons lifestyle drags me down year after year only waiting for the anticipated summer warm season. The daylight savings thing never helps come early November and only wishing for winter to pass quickly and mid March daylight re-arrival; that hour change thing is never a problem out where you are for sure. Diniel your inspiration has brought me to higher levels of understanding for the desert lifestyle as it seems to be the only best option for a future of better tomorrows. You and Nazca will always be legendary to me with your vicarious ventures. Thank you so much as I will always stay tuned to your content. Be well great lady👸; stay furry & woofy Nazca🐶. "🌖👍✌️👋"
