Congratulations to Both Aziza and Dion Parsons! What a wonderful interview! It's an Honor to address two individuals I have known for years. I am happy to know that Dion has his own program. Now for the issue at hand: Aziza!!!!!!!! I am so proud of you!!! For years I have been speaking of you and your talent. For those who do not know, Aziza has had a remarkable career. For years as The Former Jazz Program Director of North Jersey Public Radio I had the opportunity to speak of many musicians. One of my very favorite accounts is how Musical Talent is tapped and in this case Jazz Royalty. One of the many opportunities I have had over the years was to learn memorable stories. There was a Legendary Giant named Horace Silver. Those who know the music know Horace Silver. Well for those who don't know Aziza came to be mentored by Horace Silver! She became the Music Director for Natalie Cole in addition. She was this wonderful fleet fingered Piano Master. Aziza in turn became the Mentor for a young Alicia Keys!!Alicia has now in her musical success has reached back to tap her mentor in The Broadway Play Hell's Kitchen. My favorite drummer period..first time i heard him that i know of was on 'I Try' by Bofill, I was hooked,then live on Roberta Peabo..then I learned in 72 he played on Valerie Simpson..thats whT the drums caught my ear.this bro is skilled supreme

This was such an enjoyable interview as well as informative on the musical career of someone I've admired for many years. Aziza's compositions stand timeless. She continues to share and expand her talents. If you like what you've heard here explore more of her music because there's only but so much that can be covered in this format. I would also encourage those of you who like this interview to check out the music of Mr. Parson who is an excellent drummer and composer in his own right.

I remember the first time I heard "Great Ladies of Jazz" The music was so driving. It had the swing, the funk, and the power message heard and felt in a church!! Add to this, This amazing history lesson about our people . Aziza is a master teacher. Each and every word was placed so beautifully. It is the greatest sounding history lesson I have ever heard! Aziza offers the listener a true chance to experience every aspect of life 5 the form of a song! 🎉❤

Love Aziza. We worked together in LA, back in the late 70's. Incredible Musician, Writer and Music Director. And the best part is we are still friends 40 years later.

Love Santi de Briano, I used to go sit in at his rehearsal space in Paris, France when I was 20 years old. George Mc Craven was the drummer, I think that they he had the gig with Archie Shepp...I think it was some 40 years ago...😂😂
