I've just placed a hold on libby for that Stuart Turton book, based on your recommendation. Mysters/Thrillers I've recently really enjoyed are None of This is True by Lisa Jewell, and Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister.

I usually only listen to thrillers on audiobook. I sprinkle them in here and there to break up my usual reads. The only Frida McFadden book I’ve read is Never lie and I liked it. It felt predictable at first which I guess is intentional but the last quarter of the book had me turning the pages with all the twists.

Love the topics on the popsicle sticks. Very smart to make it reusable

I listened to shatter me on audiobook and I really liked all the scratched out words and lines. It’s played really well. They made pen scratching sounds after they would say the line. I can see how reading it on paper would get super annoying. I wound up reading like 3 of the books and then just dropped off on the series.

I have a 4 year old who’s up at 630 so I’m usually in bed relaxed and ready by 9 but realistically I’m up and awake until 10-11pm before I close my eyes 😅

Going to bed by 9pm is such a slay. Highly recommend

Magnolia parks is one of those series that everyone raves about and I’ve always been so indifferent so hearing y’all rate it lower makes me feel justified in not reading it. Not saying I’ll never read it, but definitely not on the top of my desired reading list

You’re saying my name correctly. Most people pronounce it “car-uh” 😅I am a die hard twilight fan. I went to all the movie releases and waited for New moon release and Eclipse when those books released. 😆 I’ve read midnight Sun and I enjoyed it but I never read the little one about bri tanner or the life/death where it switches genders. BUT if you’ve never read it, I highly recommend reading the Host by the same author. It’s alien esque sci fi with romance and there’s a movie too. She never made a second book and it kills me.

Some Book recs: I recently read I who have never known man. It’s very short ! Not sure the genre but I liked it surprisingly. Pretty girls and none of this is true are great thrillers. Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow was an amazing book imo. And if you’ve never read ice planet barbarians , I would die to see your reactions 😂😂😂

It could be fun to read books that have a tv/movie adaptation and compare. Dark Matter is a sci fi book (I loved it and was surprised) that’s coming to tv in May. And Uglies by Scott westerfeld was made into a movie and is coming to Netflix soon. I’ve read both those and can’t wait to watch and compare.

I’ve been waiting for one dark window to be available on Libby for weeks! Still have a 14 week wait 😢 but I’ve heard great things. Olive read Serpent and the wings of night and it was so good!

I can’t wait for the release of the second book in the powerless series!!

I personally loved powerless and the banter but agree on cruel prince a bit. I read the whole series but I took forever and wasn’t as invested in the story but I stuck it out bc holly black was one of my favorite authors back in the day. It’s definitely a different type of fantasy that you have to prepare for.

So glad you loved the second book! I’ve read the entire mass verse and reread the ACOTAR series recently but so much happens I’ve already forgotten so it was fun watching y’all discuss it 😂definitely love the spoiler section at the end

Loved seeing the making of the collage page! I started my own reading journal mirroring some of the pages you have and so next I’ll try and add in the collage page. It’s a great way to see the overall vibes of the book.

ACOTAR is what brought me back into reading as an adult. It’s true, the second book is where it gets so much better but it’s disappointing when the hype is so crazy but that’s bc people have read the entire series and have more context. Loved the reading journal intro! I’d love to see some more on how you do the collage part of it 😀

Love this! I definitely want to make one. I use good notes for just regular notes but I don’t use anyone if the fun tools that are available. Definitely plan on making a reading journal. Thank you 😀
