The BNSF Tracks in Bucoda
We're back on our home turf, the Seattle Subdivision. This time we watch the trains in the tiny town of Bucoda. There are a pair of SD75s, trains interchanged from the CPKC, and a meet between two trains. Grab a seat and see what the railroad has to offer!

The beautiful scenery of Tacoma's Old Town and Commencement Bay provide a lovely backdrop for the BNSF and UP traffic. There is even an appearance by an old Burlington Northern locomotive. Special thanks to the VRF Chehalis Community for train symbol identification. #railroad #trains #trainspotting #railfans

In this video, we spend the day in the town of Sumner, Washington to spot trains. It's a town on the White and Puyallup rivers with a population of just over 10,000. The town is famous for daffodils and rhubarb pie. The BNSF tracks running through the town have plenty of freight and passenger traffic to watch. Enjoy. Thanks to the Chehalis VRF community for helping me with train information!

Due to poor weather conditions, I haven't been able to get a full day of filming in like my other videos. Instead, here is a collection of videos from various dates, taken along Tacoma's waterfront. You'll see freight locomotives of various railroads, including UP1979 We Are One. I'll likely do more of these collection videos in the future if unable to do my established format. I hope you enjoy...

See footage of 5 trains passing through Tacoma and Auburn, Washington. The trains include UP and BNSF freight trains, and Amtrak passenger service on BNSF's Seattle sub-division. #trains #trainspotting #railfanning #railroad
Nice video of the trains and my home town. Hope you enjoyed your visit. As a side note, CSX recently did a major tie replacement from Richmond northward. This also included several grade crossing upgrades including three in Ashland.
Great video, great camera work and great narration. Looking forward to more of your work.
Cool to see footage of those signal peak trains. It’s about 60 miles by rail northeast of laurel Montana. I’m a conductor out of there and I’ve loaded a handful of those trains myself. Always wondered what happened after we handed them off to MRL (now bnsf) crews.
The UP garbage train at 15:25 is the OGLPS. It’s a train that goes from Gilliam Oregon to the PSAP railroad in Chehalis. BNSF crews take it to Centralia from Portland. I work for the Union Pacific as a conductor
Great Video and explanations! Thank you and kind regards from Germany
awesome video @wrobertson 253 could you video trains going thru Castle Rock, Washington same time please👍🚅🚅🚃
As one of the Virtual Station Agent’s for the Chehalis cam, Thank you for the mention. Maybe the next time your at the cam, you could show the cams and mention our trainsheet and talk about it some to let others know about it. You have a new sib from me.
Awesome 😎
I enjoy seeing the old SOO Line rolling grain cars on the CPKC trains. Reminder of the CP heritage.
Very nice video,Ashland is a good town ❤❤❤!
Nice video & I was in point of rocks md you saw some of my engineer buddies on i135 & M416
I watch Ashland a lot on virtual railfan live cameras. Interesting for someone from my home area to visit there. did you see any cars drive onto the tracks? it usually happens after dark though.
Fortunately, no one drove onto the tracks, but I've heard about it happening.
Excellent! Thanks!!
On my bucket list is a trip to LaGrange Kentucky. I sure enjoy your videos. Thanks for doing them. Happy New Year!
LaGrange is on my list too! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Happy New Year!
Awesome to see another railfan in the Puget Pound area frequenting the places I often go to. I wonder if our paths may have inadvertently crossed at some point, lol.
Nicely done, a really enjoyable video!
Keep up this good work, broski.
In Sumner, grab brunch and coffee at Electric Coffee. The windows behind the counter are about 20 feet from the tracks. When the Amtrak Cascades goes by it seems like 100mph!
Excellent video and Sub'd up to your channel, I live right up the street from Titlow and can hear the trains from my house! I've been hearing for years that they are going to stop blasting the horns down there, looks like it's finally going to happen, I will def miss hearing the horns from my house, not a huge fan of the speakers, but I get it. I'm kinda shocked that they would replace that old bridge, I heard that the reason the Boat club left that land is because the bridge was too expensive to replace, but not really sure, maybe they need a newer bridge still for service vehicles etc.. I am glad the Boat club left that land because now we have another really cool beach in the area! Love seeing other people catching trains in my area, really well put together video, makes ya feel like you are right there in the adventure! take care -Ken
Nice catches my friend 😀👍.
Nice catches my friend 😀👍. Lots of beautiful train horns 😌👍. Blow the beautiful train horns 😌👍. 5:05 those signals are called Triangle Railroad Wayside Signals. 5:23 green on the top and red on the bottom means a Clear Block that means a train is coming very soon. 6:58 🤣😂🤣😂🤣.
Hello W i really enjoyed this thanks and now I am a subber also m,y sister thinks your very handsome. please keep the videos coming and look forward to them 🙂
Ah my old stomping grounds! I've spent so many afternoons there railfanning. Unfortunately, I moved cross-country a few years ago so I can't railfan there anymore, so thanks for sharing this. Fun fact: The platform you're standing on and the isolated sections of rusty track in the foreground were part of the long-defunct Cowlitz Chehalis and Cascade Railroad, and the Chehalis Centralia Railroad Museum nearby own 2-8-2 number 15 which was operated by the line. The CC&C was abandoned in 1955, so those tracks are pretty old.
this was fun. Titlow is my favorite train watching spot.
I do love your videos. It’s just how professional and how the way you talk through them just like souther plains Railfan. Someday you will because a bigger RUclipsr like me or southern plains railfan
I’d love to come there someday
The so-called Point Defiance Bypass route is owned by Sound Transit/WSDOT, not Tacoma Rail. For a long time, Titlow was once the eastern slip for ferries headed to Gig Harbor (not the Olympic Peninsula) and home to Northern Pacific's 'Sixth Avenue' station. The Day Island road bridge is a better place to shoot NB trains in the PM. Hope for high tide and no wind.
I was filming I-G4SE at 19th street!
Awesome! Tacoma is a great place to watch trains.
Amazing video! The prices of track are from March when they replaced the track under the road. They will eventually make it a no horn zone. They started the project in March but they haven’t finished it yet. With titlow being my local spot I am sad to see the horns go.
I’m sad very as well it’s the neighbors fault for living so close to the train tracks and they start to complain.
Legend has it that the name "Tenino" was derived from an NP loco stationed here; 1090 (Ten-Nine-Oh). Don't forget the old NP sandstone depot, since relocated and now a museum (alongside the caboose). Tenino was the junction of NP's original (1873) Prairie Line to Tacoma, the Port Townsend and Southern narrow gauge to Olympia, and in 1914, NP's Point Defiance Line which used a portion of the PT&S right of way north to Plumb. The southern portion of the Prairie Line is now a bike trail; the Tacoma-Lakewood was rebuilt for Amtrak.
Very well done!! I believe those trash trains terminate in The Dalles, Oregon. Trucks take it the rest of the way to Roosevelt, WA. This is a classic case of NIMBY(not in my back yard)
BNSF trash trains terminate in Roosevelt WA on the north shore of the Columbia. Trucks transport the containers from the railhead up to the dump. UP trash trains terminate at Arlington OR on the south side of the Columbia on a ~10 mile spur south of their mainline.
6915 old AC6000 😎👍
Well done. Hope you can catch the track side carrot washing when it happens again.
1:14 How much you want to bet those tracks were removed years ago and left there? Too expensive to move them, not enough money to recycle them, no cost to leave them there...
That's very likely.
I went to Chehalis last month and got 4 trains. A11, MSEPD, ZLCTM, A504
Lead unit on STACSTP had a godly RS3K
It was good to see a little more around Chehalis, a neat little town. The film work was good as well as the narration. I love it when people put themselves out there for us to see. Anyone can set up a tripod and sit. Great video!
I watch the VR in chehalis often, since it's the closest camera to my city. This was fun, seeing what happens around town. Chehalis has the best classic car sightings.
Great place well done 👍🏻😎 . Robin out
bro I swear its the way this dude talks that gets me every time💀💀💀
I like it.
Very good video, but trying to imitate Pentrex narration is kind of annoying.
There’s not too many Amtrak trains
This video gives an interesting ground-level POV relative to the above-line VRF cam. Cool bucket-T crossing the tracks(?). This town offers a lot for the model railroader.
I use VR Waycross to fall asleep....works every night (but some more camera movement would be nice...)
Nice catches and entertaining. Thanks
Too many amtraks
6:38, DPUs also provide braking assistance by giving the train automatic braking from locomotives throughout the train. Doing that decrease the train’s stopping distance.
Nice catches my friend 😀👍. Beautiful train horn 😌👍.
Track side action😂😂😂😂
Very pleasant background listening. You have a good voice for oration.
