You're welcome to your opinion as everyone is, but I take my lightning on road trips all the time. The blue cruise is such a game changer, and stopping every 2-3 hours to fast charge for 20 minutes is a non issue for me.

I have a 23 xlt ER, have had it for 4 months, I drive A LOT. I have 23k miles on it already. And long story short, if you will not charge at home… DONT BUY. If you will drive over 300 miles a day, DONT BUY. I drive 250 miles a day and that’s pushing it. But you need to have the Ford station pro otherwise you will not make it. If you will do long trips, plan on 40 min charge sessions. For me, I LOVE THIS TRUCK as a daily work commute car.

I did not hear a real reason to give up the truck . You did a couple of super charging. You have alternative gas vehicles for road trips . Your home charger installation might be expensive but it's installed and done so that doesn't matter . You don't seem to be the type of trailer person but if you are I stand to be corrected . Independent suspension not ever seen on a ford pickup should be a dream to drive . Why would you have your windows open while you drive to breath in the car exhaust which is toxic ? I am sure it also affects range negatively. You only had one minor electronic glitch ? Wow that's impressive with all the warranty issues we see with new vehicles . Reliability is the top of the list of desire by vehicle owners . I see it as a well suited vehicle for your lifestyle . I am sorry to have to say this all new vehicles are not simple and use software updates. Companies have figured they can make money off subscription services . My 20 year vehicles don't have any of that but that has gone with the age of the dinosaur and I presume you would not want to go back to that

Also the Ford Pro Station is overkill unless you plan on powering your home. I just use the NEMA 14-50 outlet and electrician only charge me 150$ to install in the garage. Your limited to 35amps but way more than enough to charge up completely over night.

Weird how getting updates is viewed as a negative for you. I hear you on the public charging but how often do you find yourself using them? I also live in NE Ohio and our electricity is only .066$ a kwh. I actually found some free public charge stations in Columbus and have never actually paid out of pocket because of the free EA Ford provided.

So glad I just purchased a 2024 Chevy 2500 ZR2. Gas is the way to go. I can fill up in 5 minutes and have over 400 miles of range. My tailgate is remote too. It also closes with the touch of a button.

I have had my Lariat ER for five months, and I love it. I drove it from Maryland to South Carolina and back with no problems. One way was 500 miles. The BlueCruise is amazing for road trips.
