Komegatze now has an even better Alyx on the Steam workshop. He took the HL2 Alyx's face, and swapped it with HLA's Alyx's face. He also fixed the giraffe neck and the missing textures.

It was a 2003/2004 piece of art! I am was so damn impressed and into the game that I can't tell! The game was best of it's time.

I remember seeing a demo of this the first year released, at like the CES show or something. It was running on a very high end rig (Silicon Graphics?). On high settings not ultra, it was bogging down in places. None the less, it was mind blowing graphics for the day! A quantum leap in technology, at least for me!

All the Doom3 engine games (Doom3, Prey, QuakeIV, Dark Mod) work really well on old intel integrated videocards in your cheap laptops. (like intel hd5500 for instance) You can game on cheap laptops on the go if you like. You just need to find the right games.

This game was a real jump in graphics, I dare to say that the only game that has jumped as much as this one after was crysis.

To me doom 3 was the goat it was more like a first person resident evil but more cool can this mods be run on a steam deck?

I never understood why this game got so much hate, it's a masterpiece. Only thing I don't like is the satanic symbols throughout the later stages.

I think the reason why this game fell was because Half-Life 2 was around the corner. It probably would've taken game of the year if HL2 didn't come out that year.

This was before Doom turned into a button-mashing arcade game.

It was annoyingly dark that someone decided to add a flashlight on the gun mod..

Best horror game ever….hoping someone upgrades it RTX on…still best looking game ever the atmosphere so dark and so scary it never gets old…pinkies and hellknights are towering monsters compared to eternal and the reboot they look tiny…

This game is way better than people give it credit for and I still say its better than the two recent dooms.

doom 3 still has one of the best written lines of dialogue i've seen from any game since "the devil is real. i know. i built his cage." is delivered so well and at such a key point in the game, that it really sells the setting and tone of the game modern games wish they were this well made

One of my all time favourites. I actually prefer the dark moody style over the new dooms. Also having that spider drone as a supportive buddy to this day holds up

the irony when its on another planet, and he have to hold the goddam flashlight to see and not integrated into the suit or the helmet :D or to the gun

I never look at the stars in the sky and thought about Mars in the same way again. Then you realize one day, all of Mars' surface is covered in rust, and there's oil in the ground from former life.

Played Doom 3 A LOT, also many many mods. Doom 3, Half-Life 1 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. are my best games ever.

I think a lot, probably most games from before 2014 or 2015 aged badly, but this is one of those along with Half-life 2 that aged well.

Underrated? This game was so awesome in its time that I usually played from time to time. It is somewhat incredible re discover it from 5 years lapse... 20 years old? Damn I didn't realize it...

I have played this game start to finish probably 50 times. This game deserves a remake, not a special edition. Give it the Dead Space treatment.

If you have VR. Try the VR mod for this game. It's absolutely a mind fuck.

I remember wishing my computer was good enough to play this! Nothing could handle this damn game without top shelf components, good luck turning up the graphic settings.

Especially good on a Amoled screen in the dark.
