Sir, are drought resisting xerophytes called succulent plants and drought enduring xerophytes called non-succulent plants? Or, its just the opposite? I have confusion
Succulent Plants (Drought-Resisting Xerophytes): Succulent plants are indeed xerophytes that have adapted to dry conditions by storing water in their leaves, stems, or roots. This water storage allows them to endure drought periods and thrive in arid environments. Succulents often have fleshy, swollen tissues that can hold a significant amount of water, and they include plants like cacti, aloe, and agave. Non-Succulent Plants (Drought-Enduring Xerophytes): These are xerophytes that have adapted to drought conditions without the specialized water storage structures seen in succulent plants. Instead, they employ various strategies to minimize water loss and endure dry periods. Some non-succulent xerophytes have small leaves, waxy coatings, or deep root systems to help them conserve water. Examples include many desert shrubs, grasses, and certain types of succulents like Saguaro cacti, which have a woody stem and don't store water in their leaves.
