@@crosscountrybankangler last summer. Lake Mead. Me and my kid. He loves his ultralight fairy rod. I usually snicker at it. He's throwing a small curly tail grub on a small jig head. Hits something. Pole bends...drag screaming. He knows let it fight. He only uses 4 lb mono. Finally gets it up near the boat. I see the familiar "flash" as it nearly shows itself before diving again. Kid says "dad, get the net" I'm finally able net this monster. Turned out to be his p.b. small mouth bass. Over 4 lbs. He smiled big. I wish I could post the picture. I never again made fun of the fairy wand. In fact I have one now. Spooled up with 40lb braid 😂. J.k. it's 8 lb braid cuz I don't take chances

@@crosscountrybankangler The one thing I’m hung up on is the fact its mod fast, I exclusively fish Fast rods and use single hook baits so idk if the fast majestic is just gonna be better suited for me.

It is a more moderate action, but I have been able to set the hook just fine with a swim bait or chatterbait.

I think I've only been run off of one lake in that area so I think I remember you! He was pissed and had a gun so needless to say I've never gone back there and don't intend to. I was surprised because I'd accessed that place for a few years and had seen a lot of other people fishing it...so I assumed the owner was aware and wasn't bothered by it. Glad you found the channel!

@@crosscountrybankangler when I got back to the clinic parking lot he was waiting for me in his truck. Told me I was trespassing and that he was going to notify the law. I haven’t been back since. I’ve fished that place for two years straight and saw tons of others fishing it too. It’s unfortunate cause the fishing is amazing and there’s some tanks in there. Biggest I caught out of there was a 5 pounder and I’d be lying if I said I haven’t thought about sneaking back in there at 5am on a week day 😂

What type of lures do you make? I've thought about shooting some videos about lure builds. Thanks for watching!

@@crosscountrybankangler Jigs and spinnerbaits. I'm into bfs so I use the 1/16oz minnow style jigheads and paint with nail polish and for the skirt I use a skirt and a half of silicone to tye on making a mini swim jig. As for spinnerbaits I make a mukai type (bait finnesse empire) using the .026 4in open end wire and a 1/16oz worm sinker with a #8hook ,size 14 swivel,split ring and a size 0or 1 Colorado blade. For blade color I use silver ,gold ,white and chartuse. Pairs up nice with the lightning shad .
