Hauling up the anchor from Belitung in very light winds, we get some ghosting sailing for a while, before the wind fills in and we get some better winds to make our 90 nm passage over two days east and south to the south eastern most tip of Belitung and finish there with a cheeky BBQ. We know were up for at least another 48hr non stop passage so take the opportunity to relax before the step off...

We've never done an episode where we are just chilling and resting but Belitung is the perfect place to try! After a horibly rolly night, we depart Kentar Island bound for the southern end of Lingeh Island as a planned overnight rest, but as we found a suitable breeze to lay Belitung, over 100nm away, we decided to keep going through the night all the way to Bangka. Continuing southbound away from the Singapore Strait, and against the prevailing wind and tide, we make our way 25nm from Mesenak Island to Kentar Island. Winds vary from 10-15kts and sunny to 25kts and overcast. At night we're threatened by the equatorial thunderstorms common in that region sailingwithstarlight.com

We get some great windward sailing in light conditions and calm seas further south to our next anchorage at "Pulau Unpronounceable" where we find a beautiful anchorage before heading the next day in similar conditions down to Mesanak Island. After checking in at Nirup Island in Singapore Strait, we get a fantastic sail east in the Singapore Strait and then some windward tacking against the tide, but in calm seas west of Batam to our island destination of Pulau Tuksabangmas. sailingwithstarlight.com

We depart Puteri Harbor, Malaysia and head across the Singapore Strait in calm conditions but manage to find some wind for sailing towards the end of the passage. We motor (mostly) all the way south between Pulau Pisang and Pulau Besar and the next day to Puteri Harbor where we enjoy the local tourist market on the Puteri Harbor walkway and grab a pizza at one of the local eateries in preparation for our step off for Indonesia the following day.
