Nice arrangement and performance. The audio was fine. It was the visuals that were problematic. I always worry when I see a bunch of guys all wearing funny hats...and I didn't realize Trump was Jewish.
Its very emotional to see and hear it. Everthing are beautiful felted
Jeeeej, teta Mary 🥰🥰🥰
Common sense was cancelled shortly after the disappearance of courtesy and kindness.
We used to watch this video when I was a kid! I especially loved the bobbin lace segment. Thanks for posting! ❤
🙏❤
❤
I have a vague memory of sitting next to Ed in the trumpet section in senior band at the High School of Music & Art in 1955. Those were the days my friends.....
I, too, am proud to be the daughter of Slovak immigrants. We grew up and were nurtured in the same Slavic community. Your videos and folk songs bring me back to my childhood…thank you for that.

Thank you for posting this!!! Henry was a very good friend of mine . I miss him very much. It’s my honor to have known him!!!
I love watching this, not just for Yossele Rosenblatt's beautiful singing at the end but the way that his son talks about him and the expression on his face as Rosenblatt comes down from that trill at 18:00. That grin and laugh are so "that's MY dad who did that," it's lovely. You can see how proud he is of him.
"Mr. K" as we called him in elementary school was a fantastic teacher to many of us back in the early 80's at P.S. 127!
Thank you for your kind words and for remembering….
@@edkonecnik8757 I'd love to catch up sometime if you're open to it
@@edkonecnik8757 Great memories! Let me know if you'd like to catch up sometime! I'd love that.
Fabulous singing and a fitting tribute and statement of 'roots'.
I too was taught proper singing and voice placement by Henry. Every song I have sung since being taught by Henry was done with him in mind!
Idk what made me think of my old teacher today. I'm so happy to see him again.
This talented man played on our wedding 39 years ago in New Jersey! We had the pleasure to know Slovak z Myjavy like myself!
I am not Jewish but rather a Greek Orthodox Psalt ( cantor) as well as a fanatical follower of Enrico Caruso . Caruso was studying the part Eliazor from the Opera La Juive in 1918 and went to the Temple to listen and learn from the world famous Joseph Rosenblatt . Caruso wanted to see the movement as well as dress of the cantor so that his performance would reflect honesty that opera . It was his last opera to study as well his last opera to sing on December 25th 1920. He would die at the age of 48 nine months later . I am fortunate to have one of Cantor Joseph Rosenblatts 78 recordings . Thank you for keeping his memory alive .
Hi Mr. K, i was your student at PS 127Q ❤️❤️❤️ you are the reason y i love the arts!!!! God Bless you!! I always wondered about u❤️❤️

Thank you for your comment. It revived many happy memories. Ed
@@edkonecnik8757 are you still out there? I'm a former student from PS 127 in the 80's. There's a whole bunch of us who are still in touch. Would love to get in contact! We talk to Ira Bernstein regularly...
Wonderful putting subtitles
Thank you so much for posting this amazing video.
Love it! 😍
Rest in Pease dear Lady Konecnik! It was the pleasure of me and my family meeting you and your dear husband. My fellow Slovak in America!
My wife, Arlene Weissman Kaplan was a student of Henry back in 1960's when. he. lived in the Ansonia. Her professional career. was limited to the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera and the NY Met Opera chorus. She also studied with Theodora Andress
He lived and taught there until he passed. I moved to NYC in 92 and started studying with him. A really knowledgeable man with a great ear and way of explaining things.
What is the song that Henry narrates from 15:00?
@Ben Hor Thank you... though I found a copy a few months and posted on my channel: ruclips.net/video/i54QPxgKdJE/видео.html
This teaching, which the Talmudic sage Rabbi Elazar taught in the name of his teacher Rabbi Chanina, is from the end of the first tractate of the Talmud - the monumental collection of teachings that explain every aspect of each of the 613 commandments in the Torah. It states that Torah scholars promote peace in the world, citing 6 verses (5 from Psalms and one from Isaiah) that imply this fact. It is known to every religious Jew, since it is recited at the conclusion of the daily morning prayers. In the synagogue, one can often hear members humming this incomparable composition by Yossele Rosenblatt.
I am so sorry, Mr. Konecnik
VERY INTERESTING. THE RECORDING OF SHIR HA-MA'ALOT BY YOSSELE ROSENBLATT IS ONE OF THE GREATEST RECORDINGS EVER MADE IN CANTORIAL MUSIC, USING A TEXT FROM THE PSALMS. IT IS VERY ADMIRABLE WHAT YOU DID FOR YOUR FATHER'S MUSIC AND ALL YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS.
Som rád že som mohol osobne spoznať uchovaváteľa slovenských tradícii
A plaque at his entrance read: Welcome to the House of Song. So many extraordinary memories - and yes, Matthew, he was very funny. I sent him many students the last decade of his life, and I was, I believe, the last student he trained to teach. I will no doubt watch this many times, thank you...
Hey Erich. You referred me to Henry. Thank you so much. Idk why I thought of him today, but I have many times over the years.
@@robertantonnyc I'd forgotten! I am so glad you found this.
I had the pleasure meeting this gentleman and his lovely lady! He played on my wedding 36 years ago in New Jersey! He is my IDOL! Thank You Mr. Konecnik.
You did a great thing by producing this video. Thank you so much! Well Done! Yehi Zichro Baruch.
I remember going on this trip with Mrs. Moore and Mr. K in third grade. A bunch of us got the chicken pox, myself included and my mom, who was on the trip took care of us. Good times lol.
Very nice.
