Also, with humans at least if there isn't good skin contact, it helps if you wet the area a bit. Not sure with a dog.
Using water or alcohol to wet the fur allows good contact
This wasn’t designed for dogs though, so is it even accurate?
According to my dog's doctor who I know for many years and trust - it has been approved by FDA for dogs as well. I used it today on my dog as shown on this video. It works.
It is very accurate for dogs. My Veterinary Cardiologist uses it with all her patients.
How do I do the profile for my dog on cardiac mobile, it's asking for humans.
Can you tell me what model is this and will this also detect/ record my dogs bradycardia ? Also what does it mean by six leads three leads one lead? After reading another comment do the leads mean additional types of readings for different heart issues? Please let me know to all thank you
It will give you the heart rate in BPM, you will need to know what signifies bradycardia in a dog (depends on breed size) because the device is preprogrammed to humans. Our cardiologist at our veterinary school told us to just get the one lead if using these because the single lead is more tolerant to showing the crucial information with the static that gets in the way due to it not being purpose built for the animal. He said 95+% of the time he only needs/reads one lead of the six anyway. In the times where the other leads are wanted, he would be more inclined to do a full EKG on a proper machine with individual leads to assure clarity of the reading. These machines are just for quick scans for general things, not specifics. For your question on the lead differences: All a lead measures is the direction of electrical current between it and another lead. I would highly suggest googling “heart lead diagram” so you can see all six lines through the heart.
Thank u mega help!
I think the statistics of getting struck by lightning vs a dog have a severe reaction to vaccines do not match the comment. The chances of a dog having an adverse reaction are greater than being struck by lightning
Thank you for posting this video. Excellent information!
Hi please can you tell me is this a single or 6 lead ekg monitor. All orher clips ive seen are quite a few years old and only look like 1 rhythm line shows but ive been told to buy a 6 lead which i believe shows 6 rhythm lines. Which sort do you usually use in you work on dogs?
I have a 6L and this looks like the single-lead monitor. The 6L has two silver contacts on one side and a single silver contact centered on the opposite side. This one does not have the 3rd contact, so it's the basic one.🤔
