The Earth is currently our only inhabitable planet and rather than trying to make a new one on Mars like Elon thinks, maybe we should work on preserving the one we already have and then after we have preserved our planet we could then look to inhabit another one. I do think this system is unequitable and I sincerely meant the advice that we shouldn't let the internet affect us as much as I saw presently curated in this video AND that we need to come together socially and decide on what to do rather than letting the world continue to burn under the status quo. I understand that you think society is in the wrong here, however, how you reacted to it is also morally corrupt because it came off as degrading and unconstructive. Nowhere did you offer a solution to this you just said status quo working fine. I think a lot of what you have interpreted as destiny and dan being light-hearted and/or not getting the bit is actually just probably disdain. That disdain i think has stemmed from some misunderstandings of irony but i think they kinda catch on a bit earlier than you think they did That being said, this is the first time i've been exposed to jregg so his rep as the uber-irony man isnt something im aware of other than what has been said about him and what i saw on the podcast so perhaps because i dont have that preconception its easier for me to see just how plainly uncomfortable and stressed the poor guy is

It really feel like the hosts (and the audience, to a degree) psyched themselves out over Jreg, thinking he's some sort of unreadable post-meta squared irony mastermind who's always making fun of you, and people are making it more complicated than it is. That's why the "he deserved it for being IRONIC all the time" comments annoy me; he's an awkward person who is much bolder in his (scripted) videos. I do, however, think it was a weird choice for him to even go on the podcast in the first place.

The one actually true "bit" I believe JREG was doing that whole time is he told himself he wouldn't let Destiny drag him into an argument, because he finds that format genuinely bad for society. Destiny isn't used to that which is why I think he kept on becoming more combative, His hole thing that makes him money is the debating. he's not sure how to operate without the arguments. Destiny was unwilling to engage with Jreg honestly in good faith or put any value or effort into understanding into his words. How they talked to him wasn’t right even if he was just being comedic most of the time. You have people here claiming they champion the human rights of people literally dehumanizing someone while talking to them in person. If anything his explosion was mild, in a less civilized age he would have caved both of their skulls in.
