The inaugural Sunny Coast Bump Hunters Race 2024 kicked off on a high with people travelling from all over Australia to compete in this SUP Foil Downwind race. Josh Ku has the SoCal foiling experience visiting the famous San Onofre. Los Angeles Foil Club or more famously known LAFC had a community day where all foilers united and played in the water. Was super fun seeing all the different disciplines such as prone, sup, foil assist and tow boogie all playing together. Thankyou Roy and Karen from Kaohi Leashes who made this day possible

This is another episode of a friendly challenge Sim from @voyagerfoiler5976 and myself did at the spot known as MOKES on the North Shore of Oahu. We tried to flat water out of the lagoon and send it down to the finish. It ended up turning into a playful surf run Thanks Christian for the Drone work

This Downwind run is one of the longer runs you can do on the island of Oahu. I was lucky enough this day to join up with locals Ryan, Brian and Aaron. The run reminds me alot of the Maliko run in Maui and the most special part for me was coming in at Mokes and seeing the beautiful mountains on the shoreline.

What is an approximate elapsed time for a race like this?
@@myroccbox8877 it was 12 km and I was roughly doing 2 min a km

Wow Josh that has to be the best footage I've ever watched of a Sup DW race. Prop's to all the dry hair competitors and awesome effort to film and still do so well. Thanks mate. I learned a ton from that.

Which one would you go for 83kgs? I've been testing an 8foot by 18' wide sunover and I just can't get enough power to get up. Is the extra 2' wider enough width? Im a good sup surf paddler but shit on down wind foil boards!

When we look back on the growth of Down Wind foil we will look at Jimmy and his passion to grow the sport. We will look at Dave and his want to build a community and we will look at kuey and his want to take his shirt off when he is in shot :)
