DIY Auto Feeder
Просмотров 452 месяца назад
A do it yourself animal auto feeder. Designed around an Arduino Leonardo. It allows animals to be fed a user selected amount and multiple times a day on a schedule. It uses a Real Time Clock module DS3231 to determine feeding schedule. Great for Dog food or in this case Horse Grain! Testing has it consistently dispensing evening and morning.

New Jack and Tesla Tire Rotate
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.Год назад
It is time to rotate the tires on the Tesla Model 3 for the first time. In order to make the job a bit easier I purchased a new low profile Aluminum Jack. It is a Torn Low Profiles Aluminum Jack BIG RED AT830003XLR (3 Ton). I take a look at the new jack as compared to my old Craftsman 2 Ton Aluminum Low profile Racing jack.

Not sure what a no drill till is but it sounds fantastic... 😮 Sounds like it plants without tilling if I had to guess?
Yep! It cuts little slots and puts the seed in and is supposed to cover them back up. Not having to disturb the already growing surface growth.
Might be a no till drill.
Nice!! You're getting the hang of Arduino. Looks like it works well in the field. What are you using for clock source? Millis or external?
Thats one of the parts im most pleased with, its using a Real Time Clock Module. Its super slick, it has a battery on it and knows the time and date, day of the week, even leap year info. LoL i only pole the current hour.
@@1mbowen they are cool!
The good old Bowen inventive spirt we seem to all have...!Nice job and now you have an AI farmer helping you out with feedings...
Thanks! Its surprising how helpful it is already
Hey Mike….do you still have your PT22? Still flying mine but doing an engine swap in the next few weeks. Would love to have ya come visit with your Ryan during one of my fly ins at KAFP. Barry Kropelin Carolina BarnStormers
Hey Barry! I hope all goes well with you engine swap, which engine are you putting back on? Unfortunately, I sold my 22, no more sweet sounds of the Kinner.
Nice job. I don't mess with carb cleaner much anymore on generator parts. Break them down and heat the parts with a torch. It burns off the nastiness in seconds. The fine ash that left brushes away very easily.
Thanks, good info!
Is that Mr Green Jeans, nope that's farmer Mike!
Mike ,sounds like a A65 Luscombe with two dead cylinders Don NC1228B
Ha thats about right, I think it would fly just fine!
Great video
Thanks!
I need to do same to my blast cabinet!
The Tacoma Company makes terrific upgrade kits!
good deal, it may be the pot holders rattling from the weaker cotter pins but IDK
Chuck norris has a yt ? 😅
Nice job Michael, sure your Dad will love it.
Thanks!
I’m looking to have a TT22, etc. in my ‘46 Champ (with no engine-driven electric system). I’m not an A&P but this video was very helpful so I get a general idea what my A&P will be doing. Of course I’ve gotta figure out what battery and where that’ll go. My A&P will not install a lithium battery and I agree. Seems hard part will be finding a suitably light lead acid battery… Thanks for the excellent video.
Nice way to say farewell..
Hi Mike, hey can you share some guidelines on how to fly with a Dog? We have a toy poodle and he loves going where we go.
I had really no problems traveling with my dog. Generally every airport was super friendly towards her. I didnt come across any that didnt allow dogs in, but on other trips i have noticed some airports had signs for not dogs. I did have to check that the hotel I stayed at briefly was dog friendly at Gaston’s and they were. The only issue I ran into was traveling just me and the dog, made getting food hard sometimes. Having to stay outside and try to order food to go. I did miss a few times getting to sit and relax over dinner a couple times. Camping with the plane and dog made it easier too because didnt need to try to get a ride generally. I ended up needing a shuttled to Gaston’s, but again they were super nice and ok with it. The tarmac was often hot and i did need to carry her sometimes. In the plane she was very docile, though she was strapped in too. I had her harness on and leash tied in a loop and the seat belt through the loop. On take off and landing i tightened the seatbelt and would loosen it while inflight. Have fun with your dog!
Good job!! love the old Coleman stoves, lanterns etc........
Thank you for sharing this video, Mike. When someone says one of these Coke machines needs a recharge... does that mean it needs a new bottle of Refrigerant 12, I 15 oz, think I saw on the machine? If so, do you know where you can get Refrigerant 12 15 oz for a USS-12-96? Is the one I'm looking at the USS, is it a US Coke machine, and yours in the video CSS is Canadian?
Sorry I had missed your comment, If I'm not mistaken, CS is the bottle, round corner, forked gate. CSS is square corner, bottle, forked gate. USS is square corner, twist knob, bottle or can. The 12 in CSS-12-96 is for 12 shelves I think that's how it goes. Yeah it means a refrigerant recharge, I dont know if there is a port to refill with refrigerant or not. Mine i had a brand new system installed so its newer refrigerant.
I've heard some people think I don't know Jack but in your case you know Jack quite well... Cheers!
😜
Your lug nut torque seems much too high. The spec for my Honda is 80 lbf-ft. Did Tesla spec that amount? Perhaps you are confusing it with N-m. For instance the N-m spec on my Honda is 108.
The torque is indeed quite high. That is a good question. I suspect because the Tesla weighs significantly more than a Honda. www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/model3/en_au/GUID-FDDB10EF-FFA9-46EB-B8CC-03614AE92B6B.html
@@1mbowen Thanks for the link. I never would have thought it would be that high. Like you say, it must be due to the weight.
Good work. I have spark ignighters installed on all my lanterns
Thanks, they are super handy.
Looking good, where is this garage at with all the cool tools?
Thanks! An undisclosed hangar. 😜
Looks like you were getting the hang of the welding. Seen the oops when your shield wasn't down and love the fire extinguisher in the fore ground...
Heh It sure is a skill that would take a whole lot of practice to get the hang of. The face shield also turned out to be annoying to use with the grinder… randomly would darken. Safety First 😀
Good one Mike!
Thanks 😀
Nice little project to shore up the blaster enclosure..
Thanks 👍
Very Nice Love the solution! Share the SLT files?
Dan, once I get a more final design I will probably Post the files
Wow that’s awesome brother!
Thanks 👍
What about version 2 with hinged and contoured clamps, that wouldn't fall out and adjust to the particular size? Perhaps a spring steel hoop could pressure-fit the clamps from below the surface.
Thats certainly something i will consider, thanks!
Good video , great ideas on the design . The final design should be made to be purchased , if it is good we are all going to want one . 3D printer look like it would be fun to run and play with . Thanks for taking the time .
Thanks! I will be sure to make a video once I get it dialed in 😀👍 These printers are super handy.
Pretty clever design and love your 3D printer. Is that the same printer you did my laser level block with? Quite the shop setup too.
Thanks! 😀 Yep it sure is the same printer, its been a great work horse over the years.
Very cool I hope you do more lantern projects in the fusilli you make one of your lantern holders for the 200a size lanterns ?? Also next time you install generator when placing the tip cleaner rod into the eccentric block put it in there then turn the cleaning lever Down it with hold the tip cleaner rod in place so you can easily slide the generator tube and then just tighten the ham nut down I be really do hope you do more videos on lanterns 😃👍🏻
Thanks for the great tips! I just published a new video of the evolution of my lantern clamps, including the 200A sizes.
Nice job , works great and looks great .
Thanks again Chris!
You did a nice job it looks band new , it nice to see someone building something you can be proud of .Great video .
Thanks Chris, these are fun quick projects too.
Hey I make the tools to fix em right, green mountain molds on eBay.
Ah excellent cause I recently purchase a Coleman Double End Check Valve Removal Tool for you, on Jan 15th! Great tool!
Hello Mike, I’m interested in the Trig TT22 and came across your install. Great video. Anyway could you please give me a review of it, pro’s and con’s and would you buy it again Thank You Erik
Erik, The unit works terrific. I have had no issues at all, after the install I have not really even given it any more thought. I would not buy it again though, the size of the GPS unit under the dash is ridiculous. I believe now Microair may be offering a mor compact unit. One addition pro though is the integrated static pressure unit, no longer requiring the separate unit
@@1mbowen Thanks for the review! Much appreciated
It's easy to replace the gasket in the old cap. Cut it, pull it out and replace it with one you can buy from Old Coleman Parts.
I had trouble getting the old one out, it is the wide style for the one piece cap. It was hard n crusty n came out in chunks or spun.
GBO! Do you have a source for Hunter green porcelain pant? I need to do touch ups on the top of mine. Thanks
Rick, I’m not sure what can be used to patch up the porcelain. Would be interesting to see if there is a product for that.
@@1mbowen I’ve touched up places on a kitchen stovetop with some white porcelain paint from Lowes before but can’t find it in hunter green. Might have to get the stovetop repair kit and figure out a way to tint it.
Another nice job, and a dog...!
But…I like the fireballs. 🤔🍷🙏🙏🙏
Where can I find me one of those classic Taiwan wrenches? Lol
Mine was easily located in my bin that I have mentally labeled “Pile-O-Crap Wrenches” 🤪
Have a safe trip home 5 months into the past.. enjoyed your videos
Will do! 😀 Glad you like them!
Fantastic adventure.. beautiful scenery.. good eating, it doesn't get any better then that !
Great company too!
One nice production Michael, thoroughly enjoyed it...!
😀 Thanks so much!
How and heck did I miss these videos?
Ive heard some youtubers had mentioned subscribers being randomly unsubscribed? But heck you are in one of them! 🤪
If you know a back-packer, they can be a tremendous help in choosing the right gear. They are well versed in quality gear that works in the field as well as what to bring and more often than not, what NOT to bring. The difference between a "fun" trip and being miserable is often having a dry tent and a comfortable sleep system.
Seems like you have more editing time with the runway closure 😒
This is a really nice presentation of a major cross country. Very enjoyable.
Many thanks!
The settings part of your excellent video was the key to getting the ADS-B out working in my gyroplane. I only wish Trig had provided that in the user manual. Thank you!!
Glad it helped!
That is very interesting to hear, but I cannot see what the solution was and how it`s done. Can you do this, ? Thhank you in advance !! WW
I simply followed to the TEE the instructions provided in Mike's video
Thanks for making this. Helpful!
You bet!
